Purchase from Amazon Warehouse Deals; No regrets so far!
My pair came from Amazon’s Warehouse Deals, and the condition note said “minor aesthetic damage” to packaging. My purchase price was something like $46 (shipped!), which I thought was too low to resist. I took the gamble.Upon receipt I scoured the well-packaged (unopened) original box, but I couldn’t find the alleged damage; meanwhile the product inside appears brand new and has met my high expectations, living up to the excellent reputation of the ATH-M series.I bought these after 5+ years of using a beat-up pair of M35’s in my volunteer role as FOH Engineer at my church. That pair of M35’s was the first pair of professional-caliber headphones I ever put on, and that was a game-changer for me. I read reviews and considered Sony’s MDR7506 and Superlux’s 668 but settled back on what i have hands-on experience with.So far, I find that the sound of my M30Xs is a joyous thing to experience, rivaling or perhaps surpassing the old M35’s. I am no headphone-phile, but I can tell that a similar contour/EQ philosophy is employed in both sets; dead-flat tone with emphasis in the mids to draw out minute detail in voices and, I find, acoustic instrument character and voicing. In particular, I have been loving these cans for electronica due to the fantastic middle details. Bass tones are extremely clean and legible; but in contrast to pairs of bass-boosted buds and cans will seem quite subdued. These will certainly and effortlessly expose poor bitrates and/or bad source material.Things I love:- Build Quality; in a word, ‘Solid’.- Sound Quality; to my ears, perfection.- Design Aesthetic; functional, no-nonsense matte black.Things I do not love (but knew going in):- Cord is long (yay!) but hard-wired (boo!); non-interchangeable.Surprises:- I have huge ears, and the stock pads are too small for me. The cans actually sit on top of the tips of my ears, and after an hour can cause some pretty significant discomfort. The sound is so great that I didn’t care, for years- see the update below.Overall: Two thumbs way up (especially for $46!), and a positive experience with Amazon’s Warehouse Deals to boot.UDPATE after four years: Wow, these just keep rocking. The sound is just incredible, and the build is holding up great. The pads started to crack last year (so that’s three years of normal use) and they were always too small for my ears, so I replaced them with these: Brainwavz Replacement Memory Foam Earpads – Suitable For Many Other Large Over The Ear Headphones – AKG, HifiMan, ATH, Philips, Fostex (Black). Beautiful, comfortable, and no noticable depreciation to the majestic sound of these headphones. After four years and trying many rivals, I now believe that these are simply the greatest headphones in the world at their price point,Thanks for reading!

Work great for silent electric guitar practice.
Did a lot of research and headphones in this category have some pretty marginal reviews. These have worked fine for me, they’re lightweight, comfortable, don’t squeeze too tight (I wear a large size hat), seal outside sounds well and so far the ear muffs seem to be holding up well. The height adjustment seems to be sufficiently stiff to stay in place, but not too stiff to easily adjust.I use mine with a headphone amp so I can practice electric guitar without bothering anyone. But I’ve also plugged them into my stereo for general music listening, and they sound much better than the cheapy speakers my wife uses for background music.Deteriorating muffs seem to be a big failure point for most headphones, but these seem to be easily removable so should be easy to replace. And replacements are available. Also the wires from the headband to the phones are exposed. This might expose them to being snagged and broken, but I prefer them because they aren’t big loops – just enough to allow flexibility, without hiding them to snake around some internal joint where they’re likely to get flexed so much they eventually break – which renders the headphones useless. In fact the wire routing seems specifically designed to avoid kinking or over-flexing no matter how the headphones are articulated or folded.I expect to have these a long time.

Excellent Monitors / Headphones for Starters
Just started Audio Production school and we needed good headphones (which we call “monitors”) to catch sounds and errors in audio production. As soon as I plugged them into my phone with the included attachment plug (it unscrews), the sound was SO much better than in-ear headphones I usually use for years. These work for both my phone and the audio tools and workstations at school, and they’re a great price! I recommend them to anyone starting out and needing better-sounding and capable headphone monitors.

Good audio for the price. Audiophiles are not pleased with it though.
It sounds great for casual listeners, but it won’t please Audiophiles (of course). It comes with a carry bag and a removable/attachable 6.5mm jack. Disclaimer: I am not Audio-literate, I only go off of what I know and hear. I have bought these for everyday use on my desktop as I do not need a headset with a microphone to sacrifice parts of the headphones. I used the 6.5mm on a digital and analog receiver and it sounds great for my usage. Even though it won’t get all of the frequencies or be of best quality, it is still good to a casual listener. It isn’t a Sennheiser, but it definitely isn’t Skullcandy. I have watched tonnes of videos on what Headphones to buy and this was on my radar because of the Studio-like qualities and comfort it had for the price. Don’t get me wrong, I know these made for Studio standards, but It definitely can be used in one.The ear cups are also very soft and comfy for hours of use without any headaches or strain. I wear glasses normally and it doesn’t push the frame into my skull over time like other headphones that I have used. The folding feature is also a big plus. Its very light and easy to carry around. I was surprised when I lifted them from the box as it was less than a pound. They are not comfortable to have sitting on your neck however, and I have found as it is a bit tight and small for it to be worn that way. Best thing to do otherwise is to just let one ear off the headphones. The plastic and metal bits are the best quality for this price, and the product does not feel cheap in the slightest. And I’m almost confident that these ear cups won’t flake off fake leather like material like my old Razer Krakens. Is it worth the price? In my eyes yes, even with the fact that I haven’t listened on anything of better quality. For everyday use I am really glad that these work really well and don’t cause any uncomfortable, Who cares, as long as it fits my needs, it fits.

Prijs- kwaliteit verhouding lijkt in orde.
