Beyerdynamic DT 252 80 Ohm Single-Ear Closed Dynamic Headphone for Broadcast Applications

MAXIMUM QUALITY/CONVENIENCE HEADPHONE
I have been a regular headphone user (for amateur and professional radio) since 1957. The Beyerdynamic DT 250 headphone is the highest quality and most user friendly headphone I have ever used. In addition to high quality/very clear audio sound… this headset is very comfortable, extremely well constructed and has connective versatility—two interchangeable plugs (quarter inch and 1/8 inch mini-).
This headset has exceeded my expectations and is well worth the price I paid. It is definitely the best headset of the six that I currently use and own.

Perfect for one sided hearing loss!
I spent hours looking for a headphone that was specifically for one ear only. I am deaf in my right ear so wearing regular stereo headphones that have a different signal in each ear mean that I am missing out on half the track. Try explaining that to a sales clerk. They just look at you and say, well then use regular headphones and just listen with one ear. They don’t get it. I love these new headphones, they are a quality product, comfortable to wear and the sound is fantastic. I got a headphone adapter for my iPhone 8 so I can use these that way too.

Other uses for this item
Other reviews seem to focus on this item’s use for recording or conducting. I bought this with different uses in mind:
(1) It will let me listen to music or voice while lying on my side. The design is reversible so it would work for both right-side sleepers or left-side sleeprs.
(2) I am planning to attend a seminar in a couple of weeks on ios 13. I can listen to the instructor in one ear and listen to my iphone feedback with the other ear. Since my iphone doesn’t have a speaker jack I’ll connect a portable bluetooth speaker to the Beyer headphone and use that to listen to the iphone audio.
(3) I have a writing app for my iphone that gives audio feedback as I write. I can use this headphone to hear thelecture on which I’m taking notes and also hear the wirting app’s feedback.
I’ve confirmed that my portable devices are able to drive the headphone, though I may experiment with a portable amp to see if it improves the sound. It sounds a bit thin to me out of the box but perhaps an amp or a decent breakin period will change that.
Above all, it is comfortable and at this point sounds “good enough.” it is certainly fine for voice and I may find that an amp or a break-in period make it sound really good for music. The comfort was my #1 criterion and I have no doubt I can wear this for hours if need be.

Bad, really bad steer clear if you value your scalp!
A short backstory, I had MRSA in my ear and sinuses, it totally ate the inside my head on the right side, after a 9 hour surgery my ear had been totally cleaned out and parts of the inside my skull scraped, result deaf in one ear with a large indent in the side of my head, the other ear mild hearing loss. Cant put pressure on the bad side of head, need headphone to use devices, my husband purchased these because they were single ear type..
The only good thing I can say about this product is the sound is good, when it stays plugged in. Here are the issues I have had starting with the smallest, the slightest movement it comes unplugged, which interrupts whatever I am watching. The headband is slippery so it doesnt stay put (and makes my hair greasy). The worst part is horrible, the pad that rests opposite the ear piece has given my head what I think will be a permanent abrasions and an “egg”. The padding folds up leaving the bottom edge resting fully against my head, its sharp, I have tried holding the padding down when I put them on but it gradually moves until the sharp plastic edge is cutting into my scalp. I lay in bed and watch movies on my laptop so use them several hours a day, I might not be so upset about these issues if they were a $20 throw away set, but for the amount he paid he thought the quality would be better than the Dollar General ones! I would have returned them when my scalp started getting scraped and bleed but it was past Amazons 30 day return period. Do yourself a favor and click away and not look back!
