Pleasant surprise, hidden gem!
Long story short, I was in the market for earbuds. I use them daily, all day, during work, on a construction site. About every 2 years or so I have to replace pairs I’ve previously purchased and it was time. I was interested in getting neckband style buds after some colleagues showed me how practical they are for a job site. It’s honestly quite difficult to find good neckband style buds these days and pickings are slim. I hunted around for a while and decided to try these after not being able to find really any negative reviews outside of the occasional “they stopped working,” comments that are typical for electronics – and even those comments said customer service was happy to help them. I looked up the brand and their other products, all seemingly decent reviews… They seemed like they were a simple design, very practical and checked the boxes – great battery life, simple to use buttons, decent call quality, and people said they sounded good too. I was skeptical because how are people raving about these things when they only cost 50 bucks?!I can honestly say after using them that these are a gem. They are cheap, and what you get definitely hits higher than it’s price bracket. The sound objectively is a pretty standard profile that pushes bass and treble a little, but without losing anything in the mids – and I love it! That 13mm driver does work, and these things are WAY TOO LOUD. What surprised me though was the clarity in the music, because I thought that I would settle for below average sound with a very flat profile… But I was very wrong. It is crisp and clear, louder than I can handle and the profile they set has a nice balance too it – but if you like a flatter sound then you probably won’t enjoy it as much as I do. Lastly, the battery is truly a full work week (or two) kind of battery. I went through an entire day and it still reads 100 percent. And even with that nice big neckband, it’s light and comfortable, and it feels premium.I can’t speak to longevity, I have only had them for a few days, but as long as they last a couple years – pretty standard for most electronics – then I will be happy with them, and hopefully if I run into trouble I can lean on customer support, which other reviews say is pretty good.All in all, I don’t think I could hunt down a better product for the money right now – major kudos, cuz I am picky as hell and love to watch reviews and shop around, but this was worth the buy. Best neckband form factor Bluetooth on the market!
I’ll start out by prefacing that I don’t usually create reviews but I had to for this product.I’m an avid user of neckband Bluetooth headsets b/c of how convenient is to put them on and take them off and let them rest off your neck. It’s a shame this form factor isn’t more popular but at least I came across and purchased a pair of Rythflo’s WH03 series headsets about 2 months back. Here’s a summary of pros and cons in those 2 months of extensive use:Strengths:- Battery: The battery life is phenomenal! Even if I use it extensively throughout of my day, it barely dents the charge. I’ve charged these headsets maybe 7 times throughout these 2 months. A charge lasts at least a week- Volume: It’s loud. Very loud. It’s the headset with the highest max volume I’ve ever encountered, probably in part due to the battery.- Sound quality is prime for the price point. No complaints on that end- Multipoint: this device seamlessly connects to up to 2 devices concurrently, switching between them depending on which one is actively sending audio signals- Extensions: Comes packed w/ 3 colors of earpads: red, blue, yellow. Each color has 3 size variants: small, medium, large. And big plus for me personally is they come with ear hook extensions should you prefer that (see picture). I installed them in my old pair on the left, new pairs come w/out ear hooks out of the box.- Length: This may count as a con for some but I like the reach of these earphones. I’m 5’10” and when these headsets are resting on my neck, the dongles hang down to just beyond the end of my ribcage- Customer Service: The reason I’m making this review in the first place. See last paragraphDrawbacks:- (Minor) Due to the powerful battery, it is noticeably heavier on the neck compared to other brands but that’s just physics and I got used to it w/in a week- (Minor) Power button has to be held a lot longer for a response compared to previous bands (which tended to be ~3 seconds). It takes ~5 seconds of holding down the power button to power cycle the device w/ no auditory feedback.- It’s rated IPX7 but unfortunately it’s still not sweatproof enough for me. I fried my first pair because of excessive sweating BUT then again, same thing happened to 3 other headsets before these so this isn’t an issue exclusive to Rythflo. See my subsequent experience w/ Rythflo customer service below.Customer Service:Now I’ll get into why I felt the need to make this positive review, Rythflo’s Customer Service. A few weeks back, I’ve had my earphones for about 2 months and had been using it at the gym extensively. During one particularly hard cardio session, my headset shorted and stopped turning on. I’ve shorted 3 other Bluetooth headsets from different brands due to sweating waterfalls so I don’t think this is an issue w/ the headphone at this point. Luckily, I registered the product for extended warranty when I first unboxed it and emailed Rythflo’s customer service.I thought I would need to jump through a bunch of hoops to repackage the headset in the original box and send it off, and then fight CS to have the claim accepted (I had to do this for a previous brand before giving up). But nope. Within one email exchange, Rythflo support just asked me the address to mail a replacement to and the replacement came about a week after, which is what you see in the picture.Conclusion:I’ve finally found an excellent neckband Bluetooth headset with a company with phenomenal customer support behind it. Rythflo has a loyal customer in me and I look forward to their future products. I’m probably not gonna be using any Bluetooth headsets for cardio from now on though; you’ll need something more like SHOKZ OpenRun for that.
