Making reading easier on this palm reader!
The BOOX Palma 2 Mobile ePaper is an impressive and practical device that Iâm really happy with. Its sleek white design is clean and modern, and itâs light enough to carry around easily, making it perfect for reading or working on the go. The ePaper display is fantasticâeasy on the eyes with sharp, clear text that feels like reading actual paper, even in bright sunlight. I love the fingerprint recognition, which makes unlocking the device quick and secure, and the smart button is intuitive for easy navigation. The dual speakers deliver surprisingly good sound for its size, perfect for listening to audiobooks or podcasts, and the microphones work well for voice commands. Plus, the battery life is amazingâit lasts for days without needing a charge, thanks to the energy-efficient ePaper screen. Overall, the BOOX Palma 2 is a versatile, high-quality device that combines great reading features with extra functionality, making it well worth the investment.

Great little e-reader!
First impressions: Feels well-built, light and extremely comfortable to hold. The ultra fast mode is amazing. I could not detect PWM using my photodiode-oscilloscope setup, so they are probably using DC dimming, which is a good thing. Lastly, I really wish it was a phone!

Pretty good, but check your expectations
The Boox Palma 2 is an interesting device. I was intrigued by the first version, but never got to try one – so I can’t really compare the two. I watched a ton of videos and ‘reviews’ and they all talk about how life changing these devices are. Overall it’s a fairly nice product that I’ll continue to use, just be sure you know what you are getting into before purchasing. The Good:-Very nice looking E-ink screen-Good battery life-Ability to install other apps since it runs Android-Nice portability – it’s slightly larger than my Pixel 9 Pro, but significantly lighterThe Bad:-Slow – like surprisingly slow. I’ve used a couple non-Android E-Readers (Kindle, Kobo) and this feels slower to me-Poor touch input – typing, swiping, navigating are all slow with some lag and touch input delays-Comes with an older version of Android (13). Maybe not a big deal, but worth noting it’s already 2 years behind-Android again – although you have access to the Play Store and can install any app, how many are actually usable on a slow E-ink screen?-Expensive. I don’t think this device should cost $279. Maybe $149-$199 max. $100 phones perform better. So, like I mentioned. This is a nice device, just make sure you have a use/need for it prior to buying it (especially at retail price). If you are looking for a compact E-reader to use on the bus/train/airplane this is pretty nice. If you are just looking for an E-reader to read ebooks at home, I’d recommend other devices.I am keeping my Boox Palma 2 and I’ll continue using it as I’m looking to reduce my screen time on my phone. It’s small enough and light enough to carry in my pocket or throw in my backpack.3.5/5 for me.

Wonderful device
I love this device, I can take it anywhere with me. One thing people need to realize this is NOT as durable as a phone, the screen is fragile like any other eink ereader device out there. Screen protectors wont help much if at all. Get yourself a good protective case for it and be careful with it. I love that I can read from any and all ebook platforms that have an app. I’m not stuck with buying ebooks from just one place. I’m fairly new to ereaders, but I’ve tried many brands and Boox is by far the best ones I’ve tried so far.

Not user friendly. Horrible Functionality.
I purchased the worthless white BOOX PALMA 2.If you are using this product for READING ONLYâ¦.get a Kindle basic along with LIBBY/HOOPLA etc.the setting of each individual setting every time you use device is ridiculous. Too much this and that just to read a book!!! A lot of ghosting. Too much resetting with each use.Itâs like having a cell phone in your hand. Too small for my liking. And letâs not mention the PRICE!! OMG!! I kept it for a week and returned. Not for âmeâ. You do you if you just âwantâ this thing. Itâs definitely not a âneedâ!It may be âpurseâ size like a cell phone, but my kindle basic travel the same. So, imo, worthless and cheaply made. I âthoughtâ I wanted this based if Tik Tok views. I was WRONG!!Bewareâ¦.functionality and lag is horrible!!!!Trust me, a lot of these devices will be returned.

Kindle who?
I absolutely love this thing. It has the same form factor as my phone, is lighter weight than my kindle, I have KOreader on it, and I can add other apps I like to use like my journal app or sudoku. Itâs a perfect respite away from lcd screens and phone notifications.Itâs definitely not a phone, and you shouldnât expect it to be one. But as an eink device itâs awesome. I use it everyday and it took about 6 days for the battery to get to 20% from the 80% it arrived charged at.I have all but abandoned my Kindles, which for the last 10 years have been my pride and joy. I canât imagine going anywhere without my Palma 2 at this point. I have it on me more often than my phone even, and Iâm reading more than I ever have before. If you arenât sure, this is your sign to go ahead and pull the trigger. For reference, Palma 1 cases do fit the Palma 2, but cover up the fingerprint reader in the power button. So if you are planning to use that feature (not required unless you set it up) opt for the official cases, or alternatively buy a Palma 1 case that you can cut the power button cover out of. Otherwise, the Palma 1 cases fit great on the Palma 2 (as long as you donât plan to use the fingerprint reader).

Amazing!
I bought the first Palma and it was nice but has a few issues but the Palma 2 has fixed those!! It is so much faster and just all around way better! The screen quality is was better and it seems to feel more durable! I also have had kindle in the past and I definitely prefer the Palma over them.
