not a keyboard head, buttttttt
i have recently fallen down the youtube rabbit hole of keyboard modding, and mostly i just find it fascinating because i like the sounds and the fact that people have such specific knowledge about things that are mostly inconsequential. however, i wanted a nice keyboard that would incentivize me to type (yk increased productivity and such), so i did some research and decided to get this keyboard, cause i liked the keycaps and it seemed to be good quality with opportunities to upgrade but no need if you’re not picky. and i have to say, i am very impressed. all the keyboard people tend to scoff at prebuilt boards, and maybe my hands and ears are untrained, but this board is incredible right out of the box. it sounds and feels amazing to type on, i’ve never actually wanted to type before this but the experience is wonderful now. it sounds like lightly falling rain. the keycaps have a smooth, solid feel to them without being either too matted or too slick. the gateron yellows are like typing on a cloud, and im surprised i like them, because i usually like clicky keyboards, not smooth ones (i ordered this before i knew what the difference between the kinds of switches was). and the rgb is incredible. like i said, maybe i’m just inexperienced to the keyboard world, but this feels like a luxury keyboard, and from what i’ve seen under $100 is considered “cheap,” so if you want a nice keyboard but don’t want to spend an insane amount of money and time deciding on boards and brands and switches and keycaps, i say go with this one. this is my first ever amazon review too, im just that passionate.only two criticisms:the key shortcuts are a little strange on mac. the “pause” button increases the brightness, but fn + i decreases the brightness. that seems a little arbitrary.also, the bluetooth is hard to get connected. ive only had it for a day so im pretty sure it’s user error, but i haven’t been able to figure out how to get the bluetooth to work. not much of a concern though, because the little dongle for the wireless connection works great and there’s no lag. but yeah, if that continues to be a problem i’ll probably call customer support or something.tldr: mostly just typed this whole thing because it’s really fun to type on, so, do with that what you will.

When I first got this keyboard, I had been dipping my toes in the mechanical keyboard waters, and had a wired keyboard that looked good, sounded good, and worked well, but it did not have switches that could be swapped out.Then I found this keyboard. Wow, it was such an improvement, and had so many nice features I couldn’t believe what I was missing out on.I am ashamed to admit it, but I will, I gave this keyboard a 5 star rating shortly after I got it, but forgot to come back and give it a review.That was such a disservice to BOYI, and I wanted to correct that mistake.This keyboard is now my daily use keyboard, and I absolutely love it.I have tried a few others, and while they are good, I prefer this one over them all.I work as a Technical Support agent, working tickets, and live chats, so this keyboard gets used almost all day, every day.I have had only one small issue in 2 years, and that was one switch that felt a little less responsive than it used to. It didn’t stop working, it just seemed to activate quicker than the others.I have some spare Gateron Brown switches, so it was a quick hot swap and right back to work.The key caps are wonderfully colored and are holding up superbly.After 2 years of use, there is no discoloration, or fading, and they all look as good as the day it came out of the box.The switches that come with the keyboard feel great.Since switches are a matter of personal preference, I won’t go into details, except to say they were just what I needed, and are currently my favorites.The option to use USB-C wired, bluetooth (with 3 devices) and 2.4 Ghz Wireless with a dongle, is something I didn’t know I needed until I had the option.I can have this connected via USB to my KVM, and quickly switch to bluetooth, where I can then have 3 devices connected and swap between them easily.I use it with my desktop, a surface laptop and my phone, all at the same time via bluetooth.It saves me so much time and hassle I am extremely happy.I also love that the USB-C cable that came with it is long enough to give me some room, even though it sits just a foot away from my KVM, I have the option to put the keyboard in my lap, and lean back in my chair and just type away without worry.The lights on this keyboard are bright and colorful, and the fact that it is full color across the board is so nice.I love the option to switch between light patterns, or even make one up (using software).This keyboards compact size, fits better on my desk than my old full size, and the compactness of it, has actually improved my typing skills.Even though it is compact, it doesn’t feel cramped, and as a touch typist, I never feel like I have to hunt for a key I need.I just want to say, again, that I really love this keyboard, and I would (and have) recommend it to anyone looking for a great keyboard.Thank you BOYI for such a great product, you all Rock!

Sometimes, you take a gamble on Amazon. This one paid off big time!
Took a random gamble and bought this thing instead of ordering an expensive custom keyboard on a site. Was surprised to see how good this thing is, and now itâs my main keyboard for typing and gaming.Fantastic keyboard, you can replace the switches and keycaps easily. Great quality, XDA keycaps are amazing for typing, yellow switches have great feel. Keyboard functions are easy to learn and work great. Loads of lighting effects, even comes with keycap and switch replacers. Absolutely fantastic value, better than most $200 prebuilt keyboard and name brands out there.Ok, enough praise, there are a couple issues. Bluetooth works fine, but the wifi dongle barely worked for me. The battery is really meh, and I recommend just plugging it in. The cable is too short for my setup so I just grabbed a coiled cable and it worked great. I also wish the usb C port was in the back, and not on the left side so itâs not as awkward.Overall itâs a great but for the price. Fun for basic enthusiasts, gamers, and for people who want a pleasant typing experience. I love the customizability. Very much recommend.

Best prebuilt thock
Out of the box this keyboard has some really good thock and if you arenât planning on nodding, itâs in my opinion one of the best keyboards for around $100. Now I do have some minor issues, so far as I can see there isnât anyway to add foam, and the space bar isnât very hotswap friendly, I couldnât get the switch out and almost broke the switch so I just left it. Two things that really impressed me are that it came with pre lubed stabilizers and tape mod done to the space bar already. I personally swapped my switches for Milky yellows and lubed them up and the keyboard sounds phenomenal now, I guarantee anyone who saw it would think it was a $150-$200 keyboard.

La verdad es que no sabia que esperar de este teclado y todo salio excelente, el teclado se siente pesado y de muy buena calidad, los switches se sienten comodos y las opciones de conexion (bluetooth, usar el receptor o directamente con el cable) funcionan a la perfeccion. La unica “desventaja” es acostumbrarse al layout en ingles o cambiar el layout en Windows a espaniol pero perder algunas teclas por las diferencias en las teclas, pero creo que vale absolutamente la pena por tener la libertad cambiar keycaps, cambiar los switches, etc.Lo recomiendo totalmente para todos los que buscan iniciar en el mundo de los teclados custom por un precio bastante razonable.

El teclado es bastante pequeño por lo que me deja más espacio libre en mi escritorio, no pude conectarlo a través de bluetooth pero si con wifi. Algo que me desacomoda un poco es que después de un tiempo sin usarlo se “apaga” por lo que la primera tecla que utilizo la tengo que repetir ya que esa lo activa.Esta bonito y tiene una iluminación que me gusto
