Fun game on a fun little system!
I was skeptical of the handheld, and even more so about this game. But it runs great, and while the screen is small, it delivers on graphics and playability. Color me converted!

    So cool!
I got this super pocket because I was drawn to playing 1943, a favorite when I was a kid. The fact that it can take Evercade cartridges is really special too. (I’m waiting to getBitmap Brothers 2, which will be my first one.)I love not having to depend on WiFi or needing the internet or having to mess with AA or AAA batteries because this has a charging cable for the internal battery. (It can go for several hours without needing a recharge).Playing it is easy. You literally just turn it and it is ready. Nice bright screen and the speakers work well. The level of difficulty can be adjusted (easy and normal). You can use headphones with a standard headphone jack.A very cool selling point is the save states. You can literallly save the game at any specific moment you choose and go back to that exact spot at any time you wish. Very cool!!

    Some good, some bad.
Pros:Size: It fits in your pocket!Screen clarity: Awesome quality.Evercade cartridge compatibility: I can play a lot of retro games (especially Intellivison) to my hearts content.Battery: I’ve done a couple of days of casual playing, and I’m only down one of four bars of my battery from a full charge.Cons:Bumper button design. You can’t really press them without pressure on the front of the chassis, so you can wind up accidentally pressing the D-Pad or action buttons a lot. It also seemed like the first choice was L2/R2 when implementing them in games, even though L1/R1 are far easier to press.Inability to remap controls: A lot of the games appear to be ports directly from the arcade ROMs, so they lack the ability to remap controls like home console versions did. A glaring example is SF2 Hyper. The heavy punches and kicks are hard-locked to L2 and R2 respectively, which are the two hardest buttons to hit without accidentally pressing something else. I’d remap them to Y and B in a heartbeat, expect I don’t have the ability to do that since every control is hard-locked to whatever the developers decided.Audio: The front-facing speaker is 3.6 Roentgen. Not great, not terribleI mean, it’s still 60 bucks for the base system, which is awesome. If at all possible to have a firmware update that allowed for button mapping (for at the very least, the onboard Capcom games so I could realistically have a shot in SF2 Hyper), it’d be a home run.

    Capcom Super Pocket
Where does one begin to review the CapCom Super Pocket? Well goes like this.. first and foremost this system is very well designed with great controls and a great screen! Sound on the super pocket is also great.. when you boot up the system it greets you with about 18 I believe it is CapCom games and you hit a button after inserting an Evercade game cartridge and in a few seconds you’re playing a blast from the past.. with the Evercade cartridges you will have over 500 games to play on the go..

    Games for kids.
This was a Christmas gift for kids. Not a switch, more affordable. Capcom has some good games. Street fighter and mega man I believe. They seemed to enjoy it, although street fighter might be too violent for them. Might as well lean in though.

    For $60, it’s okay.
It plays Evercade games. Build quality is not great. Yellow cartridge slot cover is in so tight you feel like you need to break it to get it out. Screen arrived damaged (black bleed right above Capcom). I’m not going to return because it doesn’t impact gameplay but something to be aware of as multiple reviews have called build quality out as a concern.

Me gustó mucho la consola, tiene 12 de los juegos más icónicos de Capcom, me hubiera gustado que tuviera más pero con el slot de cartuchos gana bastante para poder jugar el Catalogo de Evercade

I bought this Gameboy style cartridge system (Hyper Mega Tech Super Pocket: Capcom Edition) to try out the Evercade games before possibly buying one of the Arcades or TV console versions of Evercade. Honestly, I like it, it’s a cool little time waster. I’m hoping in upcoming years they will release even more well known games. Imagine Paratrooper, Doom, Doom II or even Quake on Evercade. Duke Nukem 3D (PC) would be ideal, not the Gameboy advance Version on the cartridge in the video I posted. There are so many titles waiting to be ported over to #Evercade. I see old and abandonware type early PC games are also being made into cartridges. For now this little Capcom Edition Evercade player will do, but I expect I’ll buy one of the newer console releases. Some of the games just play better with a controller. Arcade games play just fine. It’s the back buttons that I find hard to press, this console could be an inch or two taller and could help those with larger hands by having the buttons placed in better locations. That’s my only gripe. I own 3 Cartridges now, will continue to buy more as they are released (or re-released). Once they sell out they tend to not be available so my guess is Blaze Entertainment only makes so many cartridges for release. I hope they continue to make good choices as a company and also focus on making more video game collections for the users. The Super Pocket is an enjoyable system. Sound is good, visuals are good although a small screen size it’s still playable, buttons are responsive, feels accurate, battery lasts many hours, I haven’t charged it in a month and it’s still holding charge after sporadic playing. Has a headphone jack if you want to play quietly, an exterior volume button for ease of control. An affordable mini Arcade Cartridge system.Biggest gripe is just the size of the body, with my larger hands it’s harder to make use of the rear buttons. Still fun for games that only require the front buttons like arcade games.I’ve had multiple guests staying with us this year and noticed they would see it sitting somewhere, pick it up, turn it on and start playing the random arcade games on it. My nephews played it, my brother in-law played it.Cool little device, I might buy the Atari Edition just for. Ugh. Collecting purposes…5☆☆☆☆☆

This is the second device I’ve bought from Hyper Mega Tech/Evercade, the first being the Taito Super Pocket, and I am extremely happy with it.The device has great build, good design and a nice selection of capcom games for an amazing price. The build quality of the handheld is great. It feels solid in the hand, has a nice weight and it’s the perfect size for on the go gaming. It’s comfortable to hold during games and the buttons are nice and responsive, the D pad is very responsive and has a good feel. The only drawback I’d say is the buttons on the reverse of the device. They are not the easiest to use, but it’s fortunate that only a couple of games, as far as I can tell make use of these. The display is nice and bright, with good bowing angles and colors. Its small size has not bothered me at all considering how close you hold the device anyhow. It would be nice to have the option to change the brightness levels. Sound is pretty decent for a mono speaker and is nice and loud; I’d actually say I’d like it if the volume could go a little lower for night time gaming etc. at least there is a headphone jack. The battery life so far has been superb and as per the 4 plus hours claim. Your mileage may vary depending on the games played etcThe game selection is superb considering the price point of the device and that all of them except mega man are arcade originals. Standouts for me include street fighter, final fight, strider, captain commando, ghouls and ghosts, and 1943. The only criticism is maybe some of the shoot ‘em up games are more suited to a taller screen… but there’s only a few of them and i really didn’t mind using the display options to stretch to full screen for these. It doesn’t look that bad and I think it makes them much more playable on this size of screen. The best thing regarding the games is that these are all fully licensed games… no downloading ROMs from dodgy websites and the developers get paid the money they deserve. It’s a win win.All in all it’s an awesome device for the price and I look forward to future releases of such devices from this company.
