Not unlocked as described!
I tried two of these they did not work as described with T-Mobile! I spent at least 45 minutes on the phone with T-Mobile trying to make it work? T-Mobile said the seller needs to unlock it! Sent both back.

grreat flip phone
got for my husband who had strokes. it is a sturdy phone and get great signal. He has dropped several time aand never once did it come apart like the others we tried. numbers are big enough to see, The only that I do not like is the screen is too small for ME….but it does make up for that with being easy to navigate

Excellent basic phone
Excellent “basic” phone, long lasting battery. Hooked up to a basic Mint service. Have made a couple of trips to South, SE and Midwest. Have not encountered any dead spots.

Does not work with Mint Mobile
I bought this hoping it works with Mint Mobile based on the description on the page. But it did not even recognize my SIM. This phone is locked to T-mobile. You can even see T-Mobile logo during start up. There is an option in setting to unlock from T-Mobile (temporary unlock or permanent unlock). But both those settings did not unlock for me. I tried rebooting, switching SIM back to my current phone and then back to this. None worked. But the phone is really solid, stylish and functional.

it is a pretty solid dumbphone – smartphone hybrid
I got this phone as a way to step back from my iPhone 12 and break free from the global smartphone addiction. I wanted to switch to either the Light Phone 2 or the Minimal Phone, but they were both on pre-order, so I found this awesome deal for under $70.Iâm not really a fan of the built-in T-Mobile apps since I use Mint, and I wasnât too keen on the Google apps either, at first.Coming from an iPhone, everything else feels pretty foreign to me. The number of messenger apps on the Play Store is just nutsâthere are so many that look alike! I donât get how people find that better unless youâre really into tech; it just feels like a drain on your time and energy to figure it all out.Once I got into the phone, I turned off all the non-essential apps like maps and Chrome. I downloaded Google Messenger and Google Contacts, which was cool because I can tweak my contacts and organize them from either my phone or computer. Now Iâm rocking this old-school rugged flip phone from around 2001. I can go all weekend without charging it, and folks over 40 always seem super curious about it. Their top question? âDo you have to use T-9 or re-learn it? I couldnât handle that!â But nah, it’s still a touchscreen with Android, and the text-to-speech feature is pretty handy. If you want to use it like a smartphone, Google Assistantâs there too, but it doesnât make it so easy that you end up mindlessly scrolling at dinner or while watching TV.Iâm still planning on getting a Minimal Phone for that Blackberry vibe with an e-ink screen, but this phone is perfect for anyone wanting a tough device to use while stepping away from the madness of Silicon Valley.

Change in rating
I am updating it to 5 stars. On a whim today, I decided to put my Visible sim into the phone to see if it would work. It does. It still says that the device is Network locked and not eligible to be unlocked. However, I have texted, made calls and am currently using the hotspot. (shrug)Original Review (3Jun24)This phone is locked to T-mobile network. I did try to unlock the phone; however, it says the phone is not eligible to be unlocked. Thankfully, it works with Tello (T-mobile MVNO). Still annoying, when it was supposed to be unlocked. The phone itself is nice and I knew what I was getting when I ordered it.

Does NOT work with Verizon
Phone is NOT unlocked as advertised, do not purchase unless you want to use it with T-Mobile, customer service says the seller has to unlock the device

We wanted a simple cell phone to be left in the car for emergencies. This fit the bill. My husband isn’t a fan of smartphones and doesn’t need or want any of those features. He just wants to be able to make a call if he has to. He likes the big tactile buttons and that you just have to flip it open to answer. While it is bulky and heavy, it’s perfect for him because he can feel the weight of it in his hand and not have to worry about dropping it. He found it pretty easy to learn to use once I had it set up. I was able to use photos to label the numbers in his phone so he can more easily select who to call (as opposed to squinting at the small text). We store it in the glovebox 24/7 and it’s turned off except when needed. So far, it’s lasted 4 months and is still working on the initial charge. The heat hasn’t seemed to bother it; I’m hoping the cold won’t either.Although when it boots up it says T Mobile, my Lucky Mobile SIM worked perfectly in it. It’s clearly unlocked but is somehow stuck with the T Mobile branding on startup which is not an issue at all.

Didn’t work with any sims. I tried Optus and Telstra, both failed to be detected. Don’t buy if in Australia.

Update: got new battery, still less than a day battery life. Given up on this phone now and moving on. Would not recommend. The phone is everything it is suppose to be. Everything is amazing, T9 word has a glitch where it won’t put a space in between the current word and the predicted next word when you select it. Kind of annoying but I live with it. This phone is HARDY and WILL take the abuse of life. It is ALMOST everything they advertise. The battery is bad, real bad. If you talk or text regularly you will not make it through the day with a charge. 3 hours into the day with no talking or texting I will lose 10% battery life. It won’t last 24 hours on a charge, maybe 12-14. I might have gotten a bad battery but this a major down fall for the phone I got. Otherwise its good, will be buying a new battery for it soon and hopefully that fixes the issue for me.

Bigger than a classic flip phone. Its footprint is almost as big as iPhone 14 pro, but it’s almost twice the thickness of an iPhone!I bought it for construction work. Feels like a toy phone because it’s so big, so its a little embarrassing to open in public, but it’s sturdy and it’s going to be a great dumb phone. It’s heavy, but I won’t be carrying it around in my pocket, I’ll be keeping it on my desk or in the truck. If you want this in your pocket often you’re going to want a smaller phone.I have a feeling I could drive over this and it would be fine. The system is a bit gimmicky to me, but once I deleted all the unnecessary apps, it will work fine as a phone for calls. The screen is a touchscreen but isn’t big enough to be useful for smartphone things. It came with a lot of the newer apps that I wouldn’t expect to be on a phone with a small screen – like Youtube.Overall, if you are ok with the massive size of the phone, I think it’s a good purchase. Works fine on 4G with Koodo sim card, even though it says it’s a T-Mobile phone.

I love this phone. It’s been a great time-saver and has allowed me to make better use of my time. It’s great for transit apps and listening to music, but you won’t find yourself doom-scrolling on it. It’s also built very soundly; I’ve dropped it quite a few times, and it remains entirely functional and is aesthetically the same as the day I purchased it. I’m hoping they don’t discontinue these anytime soon because I intend to use this phone for a very long time.
