Perfect fit. Perfect replacement unit.
The power supply on my Dell XPS X8500 desktop finally gave out after ten years of service. I find this power supply is a perfect replacement for the OEM unit. After snapping the unit in place, the four threaded holes on the power supply aligned up perfectly with the threaded holes on the computer chassis . All the connectors/plugs fit perfectly except I do not have a high-end graphics card on this computer, so I did not get to use the two black (8-pin and 6-pin) connectors. See my attached photos. The photo with the single label is showing the label of this new power supply unit. The photo with two labels are showing the label of the OEM unit and of this new power supply unit for side by side comparison. Note: the OEM unit is also made in China. So far it is working without any problems, but I am not using this computer very much since it is old and slow.

Wrong connections
There is a missing four port connection – it’s either for the CPU or video card. There is an 8 port and a 6 port, but our motherboard needed a 4 port. Unfortunately, the old power supply held out long enough that the return window for this power supply ran out, so it was a big waste of money. We literally had to buy a new PC, download PC Mover, and connect the hard drive from the old PC and migrate everything because getting the right power supply from Dell which is what we should have done, would take a week and we rely on this PC too much. Save time and money and don’t buy this unless you can afford to gamble.

Exact replacement
When my pc stopped powering on, opened up the side, took a picture of the power supply and within minutes, found an exact replacement, brand new. Within 4 days I was up and running. Install was a breeze, couple screws, some wires to disconnect, easy peazy. Very happy that I got it working and didnât lose everything that was on the pc!
