I bought three Dell Optiplex Computers
UPDATED 1/22/21 – I’ve raised the review to five stars… the less than $200 price tag is well worth the cost. This purchase is not for the ignorant. You need to know the basics of Windows 10 to really get it up and running. You will need a monitor, mouse, keyboard, speakers and an external drive (depending on backup needs. Unless you want the very finest cutting edge graphics, this unit is perfect.OLD REVIEW-Two out of the three still work well. The first one died after a few years.Took a gamble on this refurbished 990. Everything works fine except for two things: 1. I couldnt bluetooth headphones – You will need to buy a USB Bluetooth Interface; 2 Cut and paste didnt work properly from one platform (Google, Citrix,WhatsApp) to another. I had to use old Windows apps (Autohotkey) to get around that problem. Otherwise the $ 250 pricetag was well worth the above shortcomings. For persons whom have a monitor and speakers and you dont want to spend exorbitant amounts of $ on laptops, this unit is perfect. Although it is refurbished it works well and is suitable for ZOOM use in lieu of a laptop. I bought two so far and the $250 approximate price is well worth it. One word regarding the WIFI antenna- you need to be careful plugging it in and out. I recommend you plug in the USB antenna in the rear and away from any walls as it is fragile… replacememt could cost you $20

For the price
It’s not a gaming computer, but as a reliable work station it’s great and has a VGA. Connection if you want to repurpose an old 1st gen flat screen.

GARBAGE!
I have never written a scathing review. This will be my first. This thing is garbage. It may have great components, but the video card refused to boot right off the bat. After updating windows, whenever I tried to open a browser and test the internet, the computer would shut down with a memory glitch. (Unlike other reviews, mind did come with the 16 GB memory, for all the good it did.) I had to find and uninstall the update that was causing that to get it to function properly again. Though, still no video card. The next thing I tried to do was install Microsoft Word. This is vital, as this is a work computer. Nope. Complete meltdown. Froze solid. It would not respond at all. To anything. Not even Ctrl/Alt/Delete. I was forced to actually hit the power button. When it started back up, it was still very sluggish and glitchy. I managed to get into the restore mode, thinking, “ok, if we start fresh, maybe it’ll go better”. Nope, I got 64% of the way through recovery, and it has stuck on an endless cycle of restarting. I can get F12 and F2 to elicit a response, but there is no way in either option to get into safe mode, or try restoring again. No other F functions respond. It’s been 24 hours since I contacted customer service, and no response yet. Their machine says it can take up to 48 hours. Seriously? I’ve tried downloading windows 10 onto a flash drive, to boot from it, but Dell requires a service tag number. The service tag number on my new computer “cannot be found” in Dell’s system. So now, I have a dead computer, and I am faced with either returning it, or waiting on customer service. I HIGHLY DISCOURAGE PURCHASING THIS MACHINE!*Update* 48 hours later, still no response from tech support. And now the computer will not even turn on. I have packaged it and sent it back.*update #2. Several months later. I was never reimbursed for the extended warranty. I requested a refund twice, with no response.

Runs Fine Now but Had a Problem with Windows 10 Configuration
I was excited to order such a good computer for what I thought was a good price. The PC arrived within two days and seemed to be in good working order. The memory was advertised as 16 GB, but this was misleading. The computer is capable of 16 GB but they actually only supplied 8GB. So, just be aware of that. Also, the computer was not configured for Windows 10 correctly. When I went through Windows 10 configuration, the computer rebooted and then came to a grinding halt. The HDD worked at 100% and the start menu never showed. Virus???. I had to reset the PC back to factory default settings and start from scratch with a fresh Windows 10 installation. Not sure why I had to do this, but it worked, and now the PC runs normally. I would say good PC for the money now that it works.

Speedy nice compact PC
This is the second refurbished PC that I buy from Amazon and let me tell you, it’s worth every penny! We needed this PC for my son’s virtual classes because the old laptop he was using was very slow. Boy what an upgrade! I opened it up and looked inside and everything was new! You could tell it was used by looking at very small marks on it’s case. It’s functionality is perfect. Very fast and silent. These machines were made for business, so they are made to last a very long time while on. I surely will buy more in the future if I need another. I highly recommend you getting one!

Best Computer purchase ever!
I’m over the moon happy with this purchase. I’ve had it a little over a month and no problems whatsoever. Please make sure you vet the company selling in the marketplace. I’ve bought a used SFF before and it came so dusty and dirty I had to clean it myself before booting it up. This one came spotless. So clean! And I know I have the company to thank for that. Check the marketplace reviews NOT the product before purchasing. This computer works great and is exactly as described. These actually work better than the newer high priced models. I use this for Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Office 365, and I also play The Sims 2-4 on it. I highly recommend getting a low profile video card/graphics card, which I did for better usage. My last SFF still works, I just wanted a memory upgrade. So these things LAST! Totally worth it for a used PC.

Pretty good refurbished PC
The machine works okay, seems to function okay so far as the operating system goes, the wireless connection device didn’t work, I had to buy another wireless adapter to connect to my network, the ethernet connection worked fine. The keyboard and mouse were a bit cheap, but I didn’t buy the machine for those items anyway so no real concern there. This machine is worth the price paid.

Definitely NOT a good value for the money. Recieved it with a faulty and useless hard drive. Very friendly and prompt with sending a replacement hard drive but it was useless as well. So I ended up with a tower, and 2 hard drives that are no better than paperweights, for all the good they do. Would not buy from them again nor would I recommend them either.

Unfortunately the hard drive became defective after two weeks of use and the computer could no longer boot up. Will return the product.
Easy going –
I only received this 8 months ago and it stopped working. There is no power.
