Every old school gamer’s dream come true
I was not sure how this would work but considering how many hours I’ve spent playing games on it so far, I can safely say that this is absolutely worth getting. The amount of games it comes with is no joke, and you get versions from around the world which is also fun. I love that I can add a card with additional games of my own but this comes with pretty much all of the ones I love so I’m fine with what’s included. Also, for all of you NES kids, do you remember that moment when you spent all weekend playing a game with your friend and you go to school with the game paused (because you couldn’t save), and then someone unplugged it and you lost your progress? NOW YOU CAN SAVE!!!! Get ready, Bubble Bobble and Battletoads, I am coming for you. This is a small device which I like because it fits in any pocket and if you have really big hands or fingers, you might find the buttons a little tricky but thankfully it works perfectly for me. The one piece of advice I have is to save your game when you’re done for the game, and if you’re going to be away from it for a little while, turn it COMPLETELY off. The battery does run down even with the screen off so you want to be safe. The battery does last a while and you can play it while it charges so I have yet to find any complaints. This is so fun and so worth it and I am reliving my childhood video game happiness through this!

So many classics!
This is an amazing little game device! There are countless games already loaded and ready to go. Just charge it up and pick a game. Luckily there is a search function because looking at all the games would take a long time.It’s very small, so the display is tiny and the buttons are small, but there’s a mini-HDMI output so you can display it, with sound, to a larger monitor. The resolution of the device menus is good, so it’s crisp and clear on a large display, but the games are designed for small displays, so don’t expect great graphics (although still clear). There’s also an audio jack so you can play with headphones and avoid bothering others.They don’t mention this in the instructions, but the power button is long press (about 3 seconds) to turn it on and off, and a short press to turn on and off the display without powering it down. If you leave it powered up with the display off, it will still drain the battery, so it’s best to shut it down when not using it. It’s slow at starting, so wait a few seconds to get the initial screen. When turning off, hold until you see the Good Bye screen.Although it has lots of games already, it doesn’t have everything, but it allows the ability to load additional games using a Micro SD (Trans Flash) card. I was able to successfully accomplish this. Before loading the games, insert the empty card into the device and it will create the folder structure. Then remove it and load the games into the appropriate ROM folder and put it back in the device.

Your gonna like it!
I am absolutely surprised how much I enjoy this little device. This is the perfect thing to throw in your pocket and be able to play games anytime without you hardly noticing that it is even with you. The small screen does not bother me at all. I have to wear reading glasses to play any of my handheld games, even the ones with 5″ screens. I could comfortably hold this in my lap and see everything fine. I also thought that it would be uncomfortable to hold, but again, no issues. That being said, I don’t think I could play this hours on end, but I can’t really do that with any of my other games either. This has the newest April 2024 anbernic firmware installed on it, and it is probably the best stock firmware I have ever used. It’s so easy to access and use everything and all of the game systems on it work. You may have to switch the bios file for the ps1 games, but it’s easy to do from the menu, and the correct bios is already on the system but just hasn’t been selected. The performance of this device is equal to any of the new rg35xx series, including the plus, H, and 2024 versions. The buttons are small but comfortable. The build quality is excellent. The shoulder buttons rattle just a little but nothing extreme. The screen is bright and clear, and the sound is surprisingly good from such a small device. So if you’re looking for something small and mighty, then this may be for you. This is a good value for what you get.

Quite the deal, and impressive operation
This is quite the value as a whole with everything included. It is powerful hardware that runs some cores that previously were beyond what these handheld could run.For me, the Dreamcast and some arcade cores being present and functional is mind-blowing.The lack of an analog thumbpad is disappointing. The performance and game choices will revolve around that.The now standard 2nd micro SD slot, healthy battery life, and solid feeling controls does sell the unit to anyone who wants a retro game device and can accept the lack of thumb pad for the tight size, crystal clear screen, and and fast processing hardware trade off.
