Excellent phone stand that came in gift box for some reason
The first thing I noticed before even opening the package from Amazon was that this phone stand was a lot heavier than I expected–I thought there may have been more than one item inside. Then after taking it out of the Amazon shipping envelope, the second thing I noticed was that for some reason this came in a gift box complete with ribbon under the plastic shrink wrap. I don’t know if they are all ship out this way since there isn’t any mention of gift packaging on the product page.Some of the weight was added by the packaging but this is still a very sturdy, solid phone stand. I’ve tested at least a half dozen different stands that had essentially the exact same design (although none of them were made of translucent plastic and if a color choice was available it was between black or white). The base is metal and the rest plastic and while you can get an all-aluminum phone stand at the same price point it won’t have very many adjustment options.All phone stands with this design have a rotation adjustment, angle adjustment for the cradle, angle adjustment for the arm, and length adjustment for the arm. I compared several of these side by side (I have a lot of phone stands) and the size and appearance are more or less identical besides the translucent plastic and colors offered by SOAIYAUD but this was slightly heavier and had better build quality than the other stands. The cradle has two plastic pads on the pack and one covering the entire cradle ledge to protect against accidental scratches (although an aluminum stand is much more likely to scratch your phone than a plastic one). The ledge has a rectangular gap approximately 3/4″ x 1/2″ for charging your phone.The base clicks when you rotate it but since the plastic used here is transparent you can see the ball-bearing mechanism that makes the clicking sound and holds the rotating adjustment in place which is kind of cool. The angle adjustment for the cradle feels smooth and sturdy and stays in place. The height adjustment works the same way as on similar stands but feels sturdier—and since the outer plastic of the arm is clear as well you can see the piece that moves, the track that it’s on, and the space gap when you expand the length of the arm which is also pretty cool. The only thing that could be sturdier is the hinge on the cradle ledge when you pull it out–the ledge itself feels sturdy once it’s open but the hinge action while opening it feels like something you don’t want to be doing over and over so even though this is described as foldable I wouldn’t use it as a travel stand.For around $15 this is a really good phone stand and it’s superior in terms of looks and build quality than other stands I’ve used with the same physical design and adjustments. This comes in a variety of 5 translucent colors as well as solid, non-translucent white. If it normally comes in a gift box then this stand would also be a nice stocking stuffer, grab bag gift, etc but you would need to contact the seller about that.

Compact Stand For Phone and Tablets.
I thought I would give this stand a try and see if it will work for our Whats App calls with the grandkids in London. Each time we do a video call we would be looking for something we could lean the phone against that would hold the phone steady enough and close enough to get my wife and me in the shot. We have had varying degrees of success and sometimes end up just holding the phone in our hand, taking turns to allow the blood to flow back into our arm.This stand seems like the perfect thing to set on a table or kitchen bar for these calls. The unit has a weighted bottom stand that is heavy enough to hold a tablet without falling over. The arm extends about 1 3/4 inches to provide total height of 4 1/2 inches. The flat area the phone or tablet rests on has two rubber pads and at the bottom there is a piece that folds up to provide the ledge that holds the phone or tablet. The whole unit folds up for easy storage. I would have given this 5 stars but I would have liked the arm to able to extend a little more beyond the current 1 3/4 inches.We have yet to have a call but when we do I feel confident that we will be able to use the stand to have a great call without losing blood flow to our arm while holding the phone.

Useful & Attractive
I have a similar phone holder which I use daily. This kind of holder is very useful for Zoom and Facetime calls, but also for watching clips and longer video. I also appreciate not having to pick up the phone to see at a glance who is calling/texting. This holder is a combination of plastic and metal. It articulated nicely and has many ways to adjust the angles. It holds the phone securely in both landscape and portrait modes. The design is neutral enough that it can work with almost any decor and I appreciate the warm white color. it is very, very nicely packaged so it can work well as a gift and in fact I plan to give this one to a friend who has admired mine.One note: it was a real challenge to unfold for the first time the little ledge that holds the phone in place. I had to play with it quite a bit to loosen it up enough to fold down. Once down, I opened and closed it several times in a row, which sort of “broke it in” so that now it is easy to move into place.
