Impressive Tablet
This N5 is my second Fusion5 Windows 11 tablet. I purchased the Pro 3 last year, and it has performed better than expected (see my review for this tablet). Based upon this experience, I decided to get the N5, which has similar features such as ports and connectivities, as a second Windows 11 tablet to use in my office. The N5 has similar performance characteristics, but there are two main differences: First is the expandable storage. The Pro 3 has an M.2 ssd slot in the back, and I installed a 1 Tb SATA ssd (form factor 2242). The N5 also has âexpandable storageâ, but you must replace the installed 256 Gb M.2 ssd with a larger capacity drive but still must be SATA with form factor 2242. Here is how I did this: I purchased an external ssd drive enclosure/dock (Amazon ASIN B0D2M8FSJ6) and a 1 Tb SATA M.2 ssd (Amazon ASIN âB099WBG6ZD), and used an open-source (free) cloning application (https://www.easeus.com/backup-recovery/clone-ssd-to-larger-ssd.html) â this comes with fairly clear instructions, but you must be familiar with Windows 11, especially using Disk Manager, since you must increase the allocation partition on the cloned disk, because cloning only preserves the original 256 Gb allocation; the cloned disk will still work, but you wonât see the full ssd capacity, for me, 1 Tb capacity unless the allocation is increased using Disk Manager. The second major difference between the Pro 3 and this N5 is the OS â the N5 ships with Windows 11 Home in S Mode, meaning that you cannot use any software or applications not officially Microsoft (for example, you could not download and install Chrome, Firefox, Adobe Acrobat or Reader, any security software â I use Avira Pro in addition to the Windows Defender that is included with all Windows 11 installs, or any personal/proprietary software). I needed to install various drawing applications (e.g., Corel, Adobe Illustrator, Lightroom, Photoshop) in order to use my Wacom and XPPen graphics tablets. It is quite simple to disengage Windows S-Mode (this is done online through the Microsoft Store, and is free) to realize a full-featured Windows 11 Home OS. Bear in mind that if you do this, you cannot go back to S-mode â once the change has been made to the full-featured OS, the change is permanent. One minor drawback of changing out of S-mode is that the memory demands (RAM and storage) increases as additional software/applications are installed, and the speed goes down for some high-demand software. The need for having the full-featured OS outweighs these minor differences in performance â which, for me, are not an issue. All-in-all, I am very pleased with the N5 and the Pro 3 Fusion5 Windows 11 tablets â they have features that very, very few tablets have, are affordable, and seem more like mini-laptops than tablets!.

Very Good Little Tablet
I was initially looking for a tablet that runs Win11. Most of the “other” tablet Operating Systems are too limiting and controlling on what apps you can download and install. This tablet comes with the Win11 “S” version which Microsoft markets as a “Safe and Secure” for students. What that essentially means is you can only install apps approved by Microsoft from the Microsoft Store. However, this can easily be over-ridden by simply trying to download an app the is not approved, in which case it asks if to want to switch to Win11 Home, which I did immediately. So I am now running it with Win11 Home. When I bought this tablet I was looking for one to run the FMC / MCDU on my “Study Level” aircraft I fly in MSFS. The screenshot is from the PMDG 737-800 FMC. And I have to say, this little tablet runs very well. I am very happy with it. The 10.1″ is the perfect size for my application. It runs hot on the back side but other than that, absolutely no concerns. Overall I really like this tablet. The size is perfect. The touch screen works flawlessly. The screen is bright and clear, easy for my old eyes to see. I would have given this 5 Stars if not for the heat buildup on the back side. Other than that, 2 thumbs up.

Fantastic Microsoft Surface alternative
So I will be honest and was skeptical of getting the N5 tablet based on these reviews. However, I took a chance as I needed a Windows-based tablet and didn’t want to spend an arm and a leg for a Surface. After more than 24 hours, I am glad I took that chance! Great packaging and handy instructional guide. The unit powered on without issues and setup was easy.I’m not sure if other individuals received defective products, but so far mine is running like it should. One thing I did that may have made the difference compared to others is I let the tablet update Windows and all peripherals until everything was up-to-date, which will fix any issues or bugs hindering within the OS. I will say it does take quite a while for the updates to install as the processor isn’t a high-end Intel chip, but I knew that going in and wasn’t a big deal. That being said, the tablet is still fairly quick opening programs. I have not streamed anything yet and will provide an update once I do.Past reviews are correct in that the unit can get extremely warm in the right-hand quadrant of the tablet, but that goes away rather quickly when the unit is idle. Once the company installs a fan and vent into this tablet, this will be a no-brainer of a purchase.Windows 11 is pre-installed with S mode (aligning with other reviews), but switching out of it is a breeze with user-friendly prompts when you try and download a third-party application. Again, not a big deal.So far, highly recommend and will continue to keep an eye out for the latest technology from Fusion5.More to come…

Highly capable solidly built tablet.
I’ve only been using the tablet for several days now and am very impressed with it.I was looking for a good tablet and got more than expected at a reasonable price.I can’t speak for long term durability yet but, it is a solid high quality buildand, as I said, performs better than expected. It is a very capable tablet/laptopfor general daily use for web surfing and email and whatever other uses that implies. The only down side is the battery capacity. With all recommended power-saving settingsit shows a capacity of a little over 3 hours. In normal use I’ve run it well over4 hours so, not a problem for me. I would not hesitate to buy again.

The product is perfect for studying, but it’s weak and slow when it comes to daily using. And I liked how fast the delivery was.

A review of the Fusion5 10.1″ Windows 11 Home Full HD Tablet PC – Nov 2023 Model – FWIN232 PRO N5.This is a value for money, quality Windows 11 Tablet, I am pleased to have found it! I have used this Fusion5 10″ Tablet with Windows 11S for the last 2 weeks and it has been fun, easy to setup/use, performs very well for the price, quality build, HD screen with battery life OK for a day. Sound – I had to change Windows Settings for the EDGE browser from default 50% to 100% and then it was loud as I wanted through the built-in speakers; with headphones sound was very good – no settings changes needed! I added a Fusion companion plug-in keyboard and case – a real, small, real keys keyboard – best used on a flat surface. I’ve not bothered to do the easy change from Win11S to Home mode – wanted to try it. Happy I purchased it as it’s small, productive for its size and price; just right for my mobile use.

Works great. This is my second fusion 5 tablet. Last one was windows 10 bought 5 years ago and hasn’t let me down. This one has everything I wanted for a newer tablet: Windows 11, Faster CPU, USB-C etc. Still has the speaker jack which is good.Windows 11 install came without any useless bloatware. WiFi and Bluetooth work fine (good range) Touchscreen has no issues. Can’t think of any negatives.Price was very good also for the features 8Gb ram, 256Gb SSD (upgradeable)

Review for FWIN232 PRO N5-8GB.Used for computing on the go. I do not have a smart phone, nor want one.I had to retire my ageing LINX1010B tablet and wanted to replace with a modern Windows tablet without breaking the bank. I do not get on with Android O/S. I also need a dockable keyboard function â dislike on-screen tap keyboards if can be avoided. In the box â the tablet, a DC charger (with removable UK-pin out), a USB-A to USB-C adaptor, a card with warranty registration details, a basic Instruction Manual, a card with support details on and a card with initial battery charge info. The tablet was protected with a peel-off protector with system specs on display. The tablet is great. Significantly faster and snappier than my old LINX device. Having broken out of Win-S mode, I have installed my usual programs without issue. I gave it 7-8 hours of charging before use as recommended. As other(s) have said, if you do need to use the tablet while charging, it gets hot and thermal throttles the CPU. In fairness, I suspect this is standard for a tablet of this specification. The laptop cooling pad I bought years ago on a Black Friday now has a use.Screen is vibrant and responsive to my finger and an old-style tablet pen-dabber with a squishy rubber end.Battery longevity is still to be determined until I have had 3 full charge/empty cycles, but I suspect it will be about 2-3 hours of standard use. A fast charging USB-C cable was not included in the box, but I am looking at sourcing a plug/cable. Having run 2 full charging cycles, estimated battery longevity is 2hours 45 minutes (with 25% screen brightness at idle, on Balanced Power Plan, Energy Recommendations enabled)There is a blue light to indicate power on and a red light to indicate charging. But they are tiny, so much so, I didnât notice them for several hours. The included m.2 drive is SATA (NT-256 2242), not NVMe. I will query with CS whether the device is compatible with NVMe, although given the Celeron N100 CPU has just 9 PCIe lanes, it seems unlikely. Still it is better than eMMC memory. The 256 Micro SDHX card I inserted was recognised immediately.Speakers are tinny-sounding, as one would expect from a tablet. I will dig out a hamburger speaker.Overall, very pleased so far.
