Great value
Powkiddy v90 is the actual name of this device- and itâs great. Runs ps1 games pretty close to perfect which is insane to think about at its size. Comes with a few thousand games( many are in Japanese) but thatâs ok because itâs so easy to delete and add your own roms. You need an sd card reader and some other programs but trust me youâll get so much more from your little gameboy when you learn how to add your own roms. Yes other brands in this realm of handheld retros are better quality wise with cleaner case moldings and overall better feel, but this is the best value for your money

Fun little device, great for travel, or nastalgia.
The device itself is pretty decent quality, but the shell has an interesting texture. The display isn’t bad, and looks really good at it’s size. The overall performance is pretty good, but I ended up upgrading to a better sd card and an alternative software for it. The console plays up to ps1 games but struggles with some on that console. After test all the other consoles, I have yet to run into any issues while using the new firmware (MIYOO), and the console is a lot of fun. I purchased it from Amazon because I have prime, and because it had way faster shipping. The alternative AliExpress is cheaper, but will likely take a lot longer to arrive. Highly recommend this one.

Canât beat it for the money
$40 for this is a steal. I take it to work for my breaks and it has not given any trouble at all. Just make sure to shut it down properly and I recommend a new sd with a new menu. Took like 30 min to setup with a Pokémon game legally and it was my first time working with an emulator.

Powkiddy V90 BEST AFFORDABLE EMULATOR
This little thing is amazing Iâm still so shocked at how much you get for such a cheap price. This is a Powkiddy V90 and it can emulate everything up to PS1. A few quick YouTube guides will show you how to set this thing up to get the most out of it. I had it all set up within 10 minutes (the longest part is downloading all the games you want) you can also just use the games on hand right out of the box (tons of amazing games for those who just want to play right out of the box). Best handheld to get into emulation/modding.

Yes, this IS a Powkiddy v90 and I am not sure how I feel about this thing…
I bout this on a whim. I already have a RP3+ but figured what the heck, this thing is even more pocketable right? Well, it is and it completely reminds me of my old GBA DS that I have no clue where it got off to over the years. Except with much cheaper plastic and D-pad / Buttons of course.One nice thing, the battery life is not great BUT, the battery is easily swapped out and you can get two more for under ten bucks here on Amazon.Anyhow, I pretty much immediately grabbed another Micro SD card and loaded the Miyoo custom firmware on it. I have no clue what it makes better but many things are similar.The big down-ish side is the screen. It is clear enough and all but 320-240 just isn’t enough resolution to scale up all the retro systems without some serious dithering on text. It’s not terrible but it is a thing. You can of course run in unscaled mode but if you are playing low res stuff like the GB or GBA, it’s going to be pretty darn small.The D-Pad is not the best, the buttons actually have a little better of a tactile feedback when pressed. It does the job though.Here is my biggest gripe: You cannot suspend this device while playing a game. There is no way. This is absolutely ridiculous for a handheld gaming device. There is no sensor to suspend when the screen is shut and that is fine but, when in a game, pressing the small button that suspends when in the OS just brings up the emulator menu. You can’t suspend from there either.So, what you have to do is save your state then exit the game, then suspend. Then if it actually comes back from suspend (this is not guaranteed, mine locks up often), you have to load up your game again and load a state.The included 16 GB SD card also is where the OS for this thing resides which makes running “Custom firmware” nice and easy. The included card does indeed have a ton of ROMs on it but some genius put numbers in the beginning of the file names so it is not alphabetical, have fun scrolling through hundreds of games to find the one you want, reading every file name. But yeah, the games are there. Oh, the card is formatted in some variant of EXT I think so you are not just putting it in a card reader on a windows PC and grabbing the roms…At the price these originally came out at, it was a really neat little TOY. AT the current price here with fast shipping and not playing the China-Direct scam gamble, I am not sure. There are not many small clamshell devices like this though and with the free custom firmware it certainly handles pretty much all the 16bit era and earlier stuff.I do like it but don’t see myself using it much.

Great retro device! V90
Great device by powkiddy v90. Excellent library with every game you could want. That said this is an entry level rom console so don’t expect the world, nor exceptional quality. Perfect for a pocket or for a smaller kid. I purchased this for my niece and really loved it myself so I just bought another one!

Good emulator
Good emulator it works well the quality is amazing but the audio is a bit iffy but except for that it’s brilliant it lasts long enough and so far I’ve had no problems I will be updating this if I find a few one thing I have to mention is like 3 of the buttons are wonky and the slots for the memory card and charger are badly cut well I’m back and writing more to this! It is fine and it hasn’t broken since I goit at least 2 months ago I think and the battery life lasts alot longe than I expected so no battery replacement is needed it also charges within 1 and a half hours so that’s good it hasn’t broken yet unlike most people say but it was definitely worth what I paid for now one thing needs to be said the save states are buggy you should only save via the game for some emulators but for GBC it’s even more broken save states dissapere and get corrupted and sometimes don’t even save when you press save I defeated the league in pkm yellow and boom save data gone and back to the 8th gym so I do recommend you be extra careful with that!
