Signature Sound

The clarity and range of Grado headphones can reveal new notes and details in songs heard hundreds of times. The driver and housing working in tandem react to sound vibrations and virtually eliminate transient distortions. With harmonic colors, full bodied vocals, and a world renowned mid-range, the SR60x produces easily obtainable Grado sound.

X Series Driver

4th Generation Grado drivers are here. Specifically tuned for the SR60x, this new speaker design features a more powerful magnetic circuit, a voice coil with decreased effective mass, and a reconfigured diaphragm. Reengineering these components for our 44mm drivers improve efficiency, reduces distortion, and preserves the harmonic integrity of your music.

New Cables & Headband

Along with the speakers, the cables and headband have been redesigned for the SR60x. Now housed in a more durable exterior, the 4-conductor cable features a super annealed copper wire for improved purity of the audio signal. The new headband features more cushion for a comfier experience.

Hand-Built in Brooklyn

Each SR60x is hand-built by our team in Brooklyn. This headphone goes from workbench to workbench until it’s ready for your ears. We started building on a kitchen table in 1953, and every experience since then has led to the creation of the SR60x.

Customers say

Customers appreciate the headphones for their sound quality, value, and open back design. They find the sound pleasant and engaging, with a pretty good recreation of what’s being played. Many consider the headphones amazing for the money, with a fantastic soundstage and great detail retrieval. However, some customers have issues with the cable stiffness, which can bunch up or be twisted. There are mixed opinions on the build quality, comfort, and weight.

The Best Headphones No-One Will Tell You About
Let me preface this, I do not leave reviews typically. So imagine my surprise when I’m binging on youtube and find several videos telling me about how sound produced on most earbuds and headsets isn’t what you necessarily think. Queue the next video showing off a pair of Grado SR60 e’s, these headphones are deceptively nice. They’re incredibly comfortable on my much larger than normal head (I can’t wear most headphones or even generic helmets.) The padding is enough that it clamps down on the skull but not even close to cause discomfort. The build quality is cheaper than others in the Grado lineup, but this is also their budget model in comparison to what they offer. Now these headphones offer something that almost every pair of headphones chooses to shy away from, open back headphones. You can hear everything as if the music was just part of the environment. This said sound does spill out so don’t use these to keep your music taste private or in an attempt to be polite in close quarters. This all said the sound produced by Grado Labs has ruined every single pair of headphones and earbuds I have ever used up to this point. It’s almost as if you walked into your grandad’s garage and hooked up his old stereo system. I won’t go into detail but this is genuinely a religious experience if you thought you loved music before. This all said there’s one vital piece to the puzzle that is NOT provided. A DAC. The audio out of the box is already superb and I was definitely happy with it, HOWEVER a DAC is the key to unlocking the true potential of these headphones. You don’t need anything expensive to make these sound better, a cheap usb-c or lightning to 3.5mm audio DAC is perfectly fine to get started! Overall I cannot recommend these enough to everyone!

    Good quality but range specific
Bought these on a content creator’s recommendation, the top end is strong but that’s what’s cool about them. Solid sound stage, only real downside the default cushions feel a little weak and my ears start to hurt after extended wear. Would recommend as long as you are aware of the specifics. Not intended for noise cancellation and are open back but added this line cause the review asked about that.

    know what you’re getting into
These have such a unique sound that I personally fell in love with and they made me sit on my couch and just listen to music for the first time in years. But there are a few things that hold me back from making this a blind buy suggestion.>An attached cable at this price point just seems strange, made even worse since it seems like it’s always slightly twisted coming out of the cups no matter how you position them.>The attached cable is very long, alright for a desktop setup but once you try using them for anything close-ish to you it starts to become an annoyance dealing with all the slack.>These honestly are just not comfortable with glasses. Out of the box I could go maybe like 40 minutes before I had to take them off due to the top of my ears being smashed against the arm of my glasses. Bending the headband can alleviate some of this but the pressure is always there.>Music sounds beautifully unique on these but gaming can definitely highlight the rather mainstream-defiant tuning. For example collecting rings in sonic is an exercise in how much sibilance one person can take.>These kinda feel a little chintzy. I adore the retro look but the earcups start to creak when spun once they’re on your head, there was a little click in my right earcup whenever the cable moved a certain way, and overall the build just does not reflect the price.I think if one goes into purchasing grados with the knowledge that they aren’t daily drivers that you’ll use for hours on end and can’t be your main way of listening to audio then I believe you’ll be incredibly satisfied with them.

    Got me again
When my previous Grado headphones died due to the cable breaking ( costs almost as much as the ‘phones to have Grado fix them), I was severely aggravated. The company had a rather cavalier attitude to the problem and I wasn’t going to replace them. But, after the new models came out with a substantially better cable I gave in to temptation and bought this version. It didn’t take long before I realized that I missed using these as a daily driver. I have other headphones but these are the easiest to just put on and use for a wide variety of listening needs. Hopefully the new braided cable will solve what I found out has been a long standing problem with Grado headphones.

Great sound and quality, but buy from the official website instead.
These sound amazing, the Grado experience is like no other, great sound, very balanced and with a wide sound, and they are SUPER COMFORTABLE. But, I would suggest buying from Grado’s official website instead. Mine came in good condition but they were already opened. I expected them to be brand new.

    Sounds incredible
Love that they’re managing to make something this good in New York. I hate on other headphones that every noise from touching them is amplified right into your ears, you get none of that with these. They’re comfortable, cable looks like it will last forever. I have no complaints, glad I bought them and they’re worth every penny.

I hav multiple headphones and earphones ranging from 18,- euro to 599,- euro. These headphones sound extremely well. I enjoy them as much, or even more than my Denon-ahd5200(599,- euro), my PSB M4U(399,- euro) or my HiFiMan HE400SE(139,- euro). They are mabybe not the most neutral or technical but boy oh boy are these cans fun to listen to!When lying in bed I can just listen to them hour after hour.I also tested his big brother (SR325X 399,- euro) but the SR60X almost sound the same and are just as fun to listen to. My first Grado and I am hooked to the “Grado sound”.This is a no brainer. In for a headphone and you have the budget? Buy the SR60X!!!
