Honest review of ProBook 450 series……
Why won’t you approve my review, Amazon?I ordered the G8 after MANY hours of researching which computer I wanted to buy next. My last HP Pavilion 17 lasted me 10 years! It wasn’t dead, it was falling apart! It was also very solid and built well. LOL So I knew I wanted another HP.I watched hours of reviews, read PAGES of specs and comparisons trying to decide. So it was a nice surprise when I opened my box from the seller ProPrime to see a G9! It had all the same specs (some even a little better) than the G8 so I emailed and made them aware of the model difference and asked for a receipt showing the G9 model for the additional protection plan I also purchased. It was pretty difficult to get them to do that, but after about 2 weeks of emails, they finally sent me a legit receipt so that I can use my extended protection plan with the computer that was sent to me.Moving onto the pros and cons of this machine……..Pros: Lightweight but also has aluminum body uppers. It’s FAST!!! I mean, I know I haven’t had a new machine in 10 years but this thing blows all the other machines away that have been purchased for other family members in the last 10 years. I like the backlit keyboard. I don’t keep it illuminated much, but it is nice to have when you need or want it. I wasn’t sure how I would feel about the antiglare screen but I actually like it better than the glossy ones. Has pretty much everything I need to do what I need to do.Cons: Windows 10 is Slowwwwww to boot! I had my 10 year old machine boot up time down to 8 seconds from hitting the power button to being logged in, and I still used a password on an Windows 8 machine! I haven’t even timed the boot on this thing but it seems to take SO LONG compared to my 10 year old Win8 machine. :/Battery life is not good! I don’t even use the backlit keyboard but maybe every few days so it stays off completely and I feel like I’m always charging this thing! It also gets pretty warm while charging so that’s also annoying. Laptop+hot bottom = uncomfortable. Battery life is around 4-5 hours average for me. I keep the brightness 1 click up from lowest setting, check my email, do a little web surfing, and watch a little streaming tv and then it’s dead. I’ve run several battery reports trying to figure out if the battery is faulty but it seems fine. I’m not sure if this is an issue with most G series ProBooks or if it’s just the G9 or just mine! Every time I go to use it, it’s dead. 🙁 So basically, half of the use time everyday is me tethered to the plug.Every single body line/trim/edge and rubber feet on this thing are sharp! Like, I can’t cross my legs and let it sit in my lap because the sides of the body will leave very deep and precise lines on my legs where it was sitting and it’s quite uncomfortable as well! Ouch! Who wants that!? I guess me because I haven’t sent this thing back yet. :/ Even the rubber “feet” on the bottom are shaped to a point and dig into my legs while it just sits on my lap.I guess overall, even with the issues…..it a solid laptop. I do hear a little noise coming from the inside sometimes but I think that is likely normal. I haven’t concluded if it’s the fan or not making the noise. It was an “upgraded” laptop upon purchase but they did leave a seam ajar on one side when I got it. Thankfully, I’m a bit educated about laptops and have been inside several so I just snapped the tab back in and it was fine but anyone else probably would have sent it back for being “broken”.Hopefully this thing will last me many years, if I don’t get tired of the cons and sell it. I’ll update if there is anything to update in the future.

    Recommended for business or school
Fast delivery, good quality laptop recommended for business and school work. Battery lasts for 6 hours. User friendly backlit keyboard. Speakers are ok but maximum volume not as high as other laptops I’ve purchased previously.
