    Great budget tablet!
Let me start by saying I am NOT an artist. I am an author, and I’ve been making my own covers for a few years now. But I have wanted to improve my skills for a long while. Unfortunately, trying to do fine details can be limited by a mouse. And I also have a VERY limited budget. So a fancy Wacom is definitely out of my price range. So far out of my price range it might as well be in another galaxy. When Prime Day hit, I thought let’s look at tablets, just for the heck of it. I spent several hours looking at different tablets in my price range, reading reviews not just from Amazon but other sites as well, and finally settled on this one. It had the tilt settings and pressure sensitivity, and with the Prime Day discount I could work it into my budget.Family. Let me tell you something. I am kicking myself in the butt that I didn’t buy a tablet sooner. Now, I have never used a fancy Wacom or other high-end tablet. I am moderately intelligent (although on some days I wonder about myself) and usually jump right into things and play around before I actually RTFM.I have a MacBook Pro and used the tablet’s included adapter for USB-C to plug it directly into a port on my laptop. I have that docked to a large monitor. I spent a few minutes playing with it before I finally looked at the app that works with the tablet and started playing with settings. (Note: Depending on your computer’s configuration, you might want to get a USB extender cord for the USB-C adapter so everything fits in your ports. I have not tried the tablet with a hub, so I don’t know if there’s any lag or not.)I have the Adobe suite of products and only know a few of the keyboard shortcuts. I programmed several of the hot-keys and buttons on the tablet (although they come with some default settings) and then really started “using” it. There is plenty (for me, at least) of room on the tablet itself to comfortably draw or design without being cramped into a small area.Again, I’m NOT an artist, so if you’re doing something like full-on Pixar animation or something insane like that, this might not be the tablet for you. But for MY needs? It’s beyond perfect. I made two book covers in less than a day, and before with a mouse and trying to clean up edges and masks and stuff, it would have taken me a LOT longer than that. I’ve been playing around with graphics tutorials for digital drawing and painting with it, and as long as I follow instructions and use the recommended settings in the graphics software, I get the intended output for my efforts. My goal is to be able to make artwork for my characters that I can add as bonus content for my readers. My only quip with this is likely a me thing, not a knock against the tablet, and that’s the buttons on the stylus. They are programmable, but I have trouble holding the stylus in a way that I can either easily hit the buttons, or I accidentally keep hitting the buttons. To the point I might just deactivate them. (Again, this is probably a me thing, not a point against the tablet.) The stylus itself, to me, is comfortable to hold, and I have arthritis, so that’s saying something. I can even use it with a wrist brace on with no trouble.I also ordered one of the Huion gloves with it, and that gives me a smooth action across the tablet and helps keep me from accidentally scratching it.I have since ordered another pack of gloves, but a generic “Amazon’s Choice” multi-pack, and I notice no difference in performance for the better value. (I also ordered them larger to easily fit over my wrist brace I frequently use.) I also ordered an extra stylus and pack of nibs, because I know me, and I’d rather have extras on hand instead of months from now trying to figure out how to get those things because my AuDHD gremlin brain helpfully put them somewhere I’d NEVER lose them. LOLThe stylus holder that comes with the tablet can either hold it vertically, or you can lay the stylus across it. It also holds extra nibs that came with it, and has a built-in tool to help you replace nibs. The bottom line is if you’re looking for a lower-priced graphics tablet that gives decent performance, this is a great model. If you’re a parent looking to invest in one for your child, or you’re a newbie to computer/digital graphics, this is for you. If you periodically need a good tablet to do things and it doesn’t make sense to invest in one of the expensive ones, this is a good one for you.If something should change, I will update this, but so far I’m happy with it and look forward to improving my graphics skills now that I have a proper tool for the job.

    Great Tablet! Great Price
Huion New 1060 PLUS 10 x 6.25 Inches Graphics Drawing Pen Tablet with 8192 Levels Pen Pressure 8GB SD Card 12 Express Keys – Upgraded VersionGreat Tablet! Great Price!First things first. I do not work for Huion. They did not send this tablet to me for my review. I bought it from Amazon. so, what you are about to read is my opinion, reaction to, and assessment of this tablet. As a rule I don’t usually review the products I buy. However, in this case I find using this tablet meets my needs so well I decided to make an exception. This is my third tablet and, by far, the best. The other two were smaller, cost more, and did not have the features this one has.It arrived on time and in good condition. A good packing job by both Huion and Amazon got it here in good condition. In the box I received the tablet, a USB cable for the tablet, a pen, a pen charging cable, a pen holder with 8 replacement nibs and a nib puller stored inside, a glove, a bag to store/carry the tablet in, and it came with an 8MB micro SD card. The SD card has the drivers and the manual loaded on. The tablet is very solid and looks like it will last quite some time if taken care of. As mentioned, the SD card has the drivers loaded on. Opening the driver reveal access to directions for setting up the 12 shortcut buttons located along the left side and the 16 soft keys located along the top. The 10 X 6.2 inch work area is plenty large. This tablet will easily serve the needs of the beginner to the more advanced user. It will even make a great backup tablet for the professional.Pressure sensitivity is also adjusted inside the driver. I found that using the pen on the working area was very smooth and the pressure sensitivity worked just as it should. Lines tapered on and off just as they should and there was absolutely no lag in the lines keeping up with the pen movement. The pen also has two buttons on it that can be programmed. I have not seen a need to change any of the settings. This tablet does not come with a stand, wireless, or a work area protection sheet. However, when you consider the price and what you get for that price, it is easy to overlook the fact that you don’thave these things. I made a very sturdy, angled stand for mine in about 30 minutes. I keep mine covered when not in use and wear the glove when working, so I really have no need for the protective sheet. As far as wireless goes, I usually have my tablet right in front of or just to the right of the monitor, so wireless is not a big deal to me.I found Huion Customer Service to be first rate. I posted a question to them and they got back to me within three hours. I had not insstalled the latest driver so I needed to get the latest one. In that short period of time, they answered my question and I was up and running.I would gladly recommend this tablet to anyone who is looking for great features, ease of use, and a tablet with durability and ease of use built in.

    So Far so Good
Its new for my windows 11 computer but I cannot find a good explanation of how to set up the buttons and hot keys. Not just what to push to get to settings, but what the choices are and what they do. I think they would be useful if I knew what all the option choices were as well as how far buried they are in the menus. The manual is very rudimentary both in the box and online pdf. I want to know what the short descriptions are meant to do and how to use them. Other than that, the pen works great.

Having never used a graphics tablet before I tried my daughters Huion 580. I loved it but found the drawing area to be too small. I then Bought the HUION 1060 PLUS. This is much bigger and the drawing area can be adjusted using the downloadable software. The addition of the rechargeable pen is a massive plus and so far I have not had to recharge after the initial setup. (Getting on for 3 months, daily use, about 3 hours per day)The Tablet surface itself is nice and smooth, it is not rough like some others I’ve seen since buying this, and it makes for a nice easy glide with the pen. The pen does feel a little chunky in your hand to begin with, but after using it for a while, I have become accustomed to it. The pen pressure range is really good. I have used this tablet and pen with Photoshop and MediBang Paint Pro and it does well with both, however, the presets and some functionality seem geared specifically for Photoshop. The downloadable software will let you change some of the tablets hotkeys and other settings though. The Hotkeys themselves are very useful. Once you have them set to the shortcuts or keystrokes that you need, for example, “Brush Tool Selector” or “Eraser Tool Selector” possibly even “Brush Size Plus or Minus” etc. You get the idea. Some of these are pre-set, others you can please yourself. The one downside of the Hotkeys is their colour. I found it difficult at times to see them clearly against the surrounding of the tablet. I ended up putting little stickers on with icons of the shortcuts to remind myself what key did what. There are also some “Soft keys” at the top but I have never used them as this would mean cutting down on the drawing area.All-in-all this is a great graphics tablet at a great price. Is it going to be as fancy as the top end Wacom products, NO, but it isn’t going to hold you back either if you want to touch up your photos or create some digital drawings or even start your own Manga series.Would I recommend it, Yes I would. If you are looking to get a Graphics tablet but aren’t sure yet on how they work and don’t want to fork out mega bucks, get one of these. Once you get over the first few little hurdles you will be glad you did.
