What you need!
The kit is exactly what was advertised. I didnât need the external SSD to download our data as the HDD was already corrupted so I canât speak as to how well that worked but external SSDs are pretty basic anyways. But the kit itself worked great. It was my first apple tear down and reassembly and it worked just fine. Just make sure you have your High Sierra or other OS media drive before tear down!

You can do it!
Fixed my Mac 2017 model, following all directions and comments, replacing the hard drive was easier than expected.
