After few years of use – rock solid
Ideal combination of performance, price and power consumption. The i5 still rocks, pulls every game I played no problem. Great for daily tasks like code compilation, video editing and compression. Luckily doesn’t have the recent 13 & 14 gen stability problems. Are i7 and i9 more powerful? Yes, but not by much, in most cases you won’t even notice. Are they worth their price and electricity bill? No.

    Impressive Performance Upgrade – A Mid-Range Powerhouse
I recently upgraded my PC’s CPU to the Intel Core i5-12600KF from an older i7 6700k, and the improvement in performance has been nothing short of phenomenal. This processor has significantly boosted my PC’s speed, making it feel at least five times faster than before. The addition of extra cores in the i5-12600KF is likely a major factor in this performance leap. It handles multitasking and demanding applications with remarkable ease, making my computing experience smoother and more efficient. Whether I’m gaming, working on intensive software, or just browsing, everything feels snappier and more responsive. What I appreciate most about the i5-12600KF is its balance of power and affordability. It’s a fantastic middle-ground CPU that offers high-end performance without the hefty price tag of top-tier processors. This makes it an ideal choice for users like me who want a significant upgrade without breaking the bank.In conclusion, the Intel Core i5-12600KF is an excellent choice for anyone looking to upgrade their PC. Its ability to significantly boost performance, combined with its reasonable price, makes it a standout option in the mid-range CPU market. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to rejuvenate their computing experience.

    Great cpu
It’s been a great cpu that has great performance and stability (assuming you don’t overclock too much). Was easy to install and have loved the upgrade.

    Very powerful for the price
I built a budget friendly gaming computer, and this processor is amazing for the price. Paired with a 3060, and 32GB or RAM, this thing plays any game I’ve thrown at it.

Runs faster and cooler than expected
I needed a CPU to cobble together a DDR4 system from existing parts. This was on sale. I normally buy i7 or better but in this case I doubt the extra cores would make much perceptible difference in throughput for what I do with the thing. I was surprised at how fast this CPU seems compared to Ryzen 5xxx. Its running fine on a (largish) air cooler and is supposed to be immune to the Intel voltage curse afflicting 13th and 14th gen parts. I specifically did not want the iGPU, something to consider in an F part.

Be aware that you will need a UEFI and Secure Boot compliant video card.
I have been building desktop computers for the past 22 years, and this is the first processor I have had such horrible luck getting to work. I have tried this in 3 motherboards, swapped RAM, video cards, power supplies, monitors, and HDMI cables. I have even returned and replaced the CPU. Nothing has gotten me to a POST screen, much less allowed me to access the UEFI/BIOS, until I borrowed a GT 1030, which is UEFI and Secure Boot compliant. Socket 1700 motherboards are shipping with CSM disabled and Secure Boot enabled. Unless your video card is compliant, you will not see a POST screen or a UEFI/BIOS menu.I’m going to sit on this system for a bit, while I save up for a newer video card. The GTX 970 video card I have is not fully compliant, so it will not work with a socket 1700 system.— AddendumI have now paired this with a GTX 1650, and the system boots up just fine. I chose not to overclock. Running a full load CPU stress test (4.5 GHz on all P-Cores, 3.6 GHz on all E-Cores), the chip draws less than 120 watts, and runs at 74C max temp using a Noctua NH-U12S Redux. So far, the system runs stably on Windows 11. I hope this will be a problem-free build from here on in.
