This computer, with 16GB RAM+512GB M.2 SSD is an outstanding value. It runs Windows 11 Pro, which is pre-installed, perfectly. Responsiveness is what you would expect out of a larger system with higher specs. Websites load almost instantaneously, and most applications such as word processing, Libre Office, and so on work fine.I am using this computer as a Plex Media Server, connected to an external USB hard drive with all my movies and media on it. It works perfectly. I can stream videos at full resolution to my Roku TV, and web browsers on other computers in my house. No glitches, no dropped frames, no problems of any sort.They give you an excellent piece of advice when setting it up. That is to pretend you do not have an internet connection. This will install Windows 11 Pro with a local account, and prevent it from downloading tedious updates during the setup process, which could take hours. Using a local account instead of signing up for a Microsoft account is definitely the way to go.

A lot of power in a little box
I have a couple Mini PCs that I use for various things around my house as they make excellent kids’ computers, but also excellent mini servers for when I need something more powerful than a Raspberry Pi.This Kamrui AK1plus I am using primarily with Ubuntu 24.04 as a headless server and utilizing the transcoding capability of the Intel N95 CPU to encode videos and act as a portable Plex server when I travel. It’s very quiet – I’ve pushed it hard doing transcoding and can barely hear the fan.The unit shipped with Windows 11 on it, and felt moderately snappy when I played around with it. I then erased the SSD and installed Ubuntu 24.04 via a USB stick. Ubuntu happily detected the Wifi and other hardware components and had zero issues installing. Ubuntu runs well on it and it was able to use my 1440p display, mouse and keyboard and it operated just like any other computer. Lag free and silent.The configuration I got comes with 16 GB of RAM and a 512 GB M.2 SSD. They are removable and upgradable, but it does require a full disassembly of the computer since they’re on the bottom of the motherboard, so it’s not for the faint of heart. I did note an unused SATA port on the motherboard but did not get to test it for functionality.The really clever part of this Mini PC as compared to others I own is the ability to easily install a 2.5″ SATA drive or make the Mini PC even smaller by taking it off. Just unscrew a back cover and install the drive. Don’t want to use a drive? You can unhook the latches and remove the SATA expansion bit, which connects internally via a USBC connector. By removing the SATA expansion portion, the Mini PC is even thinner – about 1″ less. It’s a really clever design that no other of my Mini PCs has.Overall, this has been a great little machine, and will serve me well as a portable Plex server for when I travel or a transcoding server when I’m at home.

Priced Right Works Great!!
I bought this because my old windows 10 H.P. desktop computer is not able to be upgraded to windows 11… I put this mini computer in my upstairs bedroom for now to get used to using it and will buy another one in the future to replace my old H.P.This was easy to setup and is working great.. I love that it’s so small but still has plenty of usb and hdmi ports. I’m using a wireless keyboard and mouse that only took up one port. I don’t do any gaming but this is plenty fast for what I use it for. Streaming works perfect no glitches. Programs all open fast.My wireless router is in my downstairs room quite a long way away from this little computer but it has a very strong signal.. No problem at all with wifi.I’m very impressed so far.

Fantastic Little Machine for Home Media Server
I have a similar mini-PC from another company for the past couple of years and have been using it as a personal cloud server and have been super happy. When I decided I wanted to try to also build a Home Media Server (Plex) for myself, I knew I wanted something like this mini-PC.This mini-PC has blown me away. The processor is snappy and the 16Gb of RAM is better than what I found with a lot of others out there on the market. I love the expandability of this little machine with the internal 2.5″ SATA SSD slot and the 4 USB ports on the outside, there is plenty of room to set my media server up and grow it later as needed.I did purchase a 2TB SATA SSD for the internal slot as my initial storage for the media server and installing that was a breeze as well.I seriously have no complaints about this mini-PC so far. The included VESA Mount bracket also helps to me keep the mini-PC tucked away for a clean look in my office set-up but still makes the mini-PC accessible when I am ready to expand it by adding more external HDDs or whatever else I decide in the future.So, again, I am very happy with the purchase and would recommend it to anyone looking for a cheap put powerful home PC, personal Media Server, personal cloud server, etc. You should definitely consider this one!
