You won’t be tricked by people telling you to Alt-F4 easily with this keyboard
Still getting used to this K68se 60% keyboard that has no easily accessible home, end, or function keys, and the layout is a bit claustrophobic, but the thing is heavy for its size, feels like it’s made out of fairly sturdy plastic, and has some cool lighting options, with various color choices for under the keys as well as the around the bottom of the keyboard frame. Also, it was on sale for fairly cheap, and came with some free keycaps which I probably won’t ever use aside from one specific use case — more on that later. It can be a little tricky to turn off the lighting completely as function backspace only disables the key lighting and not the border lighting, it might not be the best choice if you want to quickly and easily hit a key or switch and turn the lights off when you want to sleep. I suppose you can just pull out the cable on the keyboard side — that will turn it off. This is not a wireless keyboard, so if the cable goes out, so does the power to it.Typing on it — mine is using ‘blue switch’ with audible clicks — feels quite good. Though, due to the smaller size and the low profile keys, I do suffer quite a bit compared to other larger keyboards that I am used to. Still, it doesn’t feel cheap or excessively wobbly, and you are pressed for desk space, this size lets you access a few useful keys (tilde, pgup/pgdown,del) that are located on the side near the arrow keys. You also don’t get a row for Function keys — you’ll have to hold Function and hit a number to get access to F5, so get your two finger salute ready if you need to refresh your webpage constantly to reserve your limited edition merchandise or concert tickets. There are some games and applications where this kind of keyboard will work fine and others where it just won’t be very good for — I’m not going to really elaborate because there are plenty of pictures — so keep that in mind if you’re getting one of these as your daily use keyboard. Now this keyboard came with a promo for free XDA keycaps. This did not pan out so well because the set is designed for a layout like the RK61, not this K68se. So some of the keys won’t be able to be swapped out. Could be a bit of an oversight, and in addition since you do need to use Fn combinations to do a lot of things like control lighting and get access to additional keys like print screen / home/ end, replacing the stock DSA style flat keys means you’ll have to memorize what combos do what if you need to access printscreen, home, end, insert, or what have you. Home and end are two keys that I really do miss having easy access to and I wish they were more intuitively placed (fn+tilde? fn+P? why those two?) but frankly, I mostly picked this up out of curiosity and due to the sale going on. I have another keyboard that I replaced with frankly unreadable pink XDA keys, I might swap out some of those out unless I want to have the blank keyboard experience again.Overall a solidly built curiosity that does its task well and is also very portable, if you’re taking a mini pc around or need to cart something small around with you as part of a testing kit or as a laptop keyboard replacement, or just want something with some nice flashy lights and don’t need more than WASD to game with that you can also type a report on, or all of the above and have no desk space at all, then I can’t see a reason not to recommend this device. Just keep in mind you do lose some convenience for the 60% form factor.Liked:Overall build qualityTyping feelLightingCost (on sale)CompactDisliked:Lack of keysFree keycaps weren’t a match :(I’m not sure if I would have given this thing a second look if not for the sale on this keyboard, honestly. Still, I am pleased with it, and would give it a solid recommend, especially with the sale price.

    Premium Typing Experience
I am a wordsmith and this is by far the most satisfying keyboard I have ever used. I don’t know if it’s the keycaps or the switches, but this keyboard is very comfortable to type on and soft it’s hard to describe; anyway, it feels very comfortable to type on! Here’s a few key things to note for why I’ve loved it:The software driver for the keyboard is easy to use and does not need to be running all the time (which is a huge plus imo). Setting up my lighting scheme and the different profiles was easy. You can also easily switch profiles on the keyboard which has been very convenient. The detachable cable is a great feature for when I want to use my entire desk. I can quickly and easily remove the entire keyboard. It’s also pretty nice that there’s the option to use another USB-C cable which limits the amount of cables I have to bring with me when I travel.Low-profile body. I love it!! This makes the keyboard very comfortable. At first I didn’t think it mattered (coming from other standard keyboards), but for the long hours of typing I often have to do, I don’t need a hand rest to support my wrists and relieve hand fatigue.Very compact. It’s a 65% layout keyboard, so it already frees up some extra space for your mouse and keeps my desk looking clean and uncluttered.Amazing stabilizer. Any stabilizer key, especially the spacebar, is a pleasure to use. This is another thing I noticed early on, but didn’t think too much about. Now, I really don’t want to use a mechanical keyboard that doesn’t have that stability

    Solid and Fun Keyboard
For the price, this keyboard is very solid and pretty awesome! Honestly, I did not think it was going to be as heavy as it is! There are a TON of lighting options. It comes with a card that lists all of the options using the “FN” key. This is the first 60% keyboard I have purchased and it does take a little time to get used to typing on it. I use it to work from home so I can’t speak to how this keyboard is for gaming but as far as typing, it’s very, very sensitive. You barely have to hit the keys in order to type something so if you are a fast typer, get ready to backspace A LOT when you first start using it. Today is the first day that I have used it for an 8-hour work day and after using it for almost 8 hours, I am finally to the point where I am not hitting keys I don’t want to hit. Also, I find myself changing the lighting on it every few minutes lol. I get distracted if there are too many blinking lights but I figured out how to get it to stay on rainbow without cycling through colors. The light on the outside can also be set to non-cycling. VERY fun keyboard!! I got the red linear switch (not the “quiet red”, just “red linear”) and as you can hear in the video it’s not too loud. The keys don’t wiggle back and forth at all. Very solid keyboard and I would most definitely purchase it again!! I have a few of the expensive brand-name keyboards and this keyboard could rank just as high as those as far as quality! I do miss my number pad though…wish they made a full size but that won’t stop me from using it!

Nice creamy switches, not too loud or quiet. Gorgeous custom RGB lighting. Slightly heavier than I expected so I wouldn’t recommend for travel, but overall great for all-purpose use.
