    Sometimes screens are helpful
I typically like to find activities for the kids that are non screen. For example I often put 2 year olds in a high chair with watercolors and paper. It entertains them for quite some time and the mess is contained to their chair (for the most part).Or I put a toddler in front of the sink with various plastic containers and let them pour water back an forth in them while I’m cooking nearby. They already love that kind of play in the tub so it works as a fun experimental time for them. No real mess and I can keep them away from the hot stove.I’ve resisted getting a video player for the car because I like to play games with the kids in the car.But once in a while I need a child to keep quiet for a little while, while I’m in a zoom meeting or something similar. This is the time for a screen. Since it doesn’t happen often, they are so excited to get it that they are well behaved and very entertained. The key is to use it very sparingly.I like the parental controls so I don’t have to worry about dangerous stuff. The handle is very ‘handy’ too so they can carry it about without dropping. It’s also handy that it’s expandable in case we needed to store things like photos or something. Kids love to watch slideshows of themselves. So far we’re happy with this.

    Good tablet
It’s a good tablet. It’s plenty fast enough to do anything a younger kid would need. It has all the parental protections you would expect. The case is part of the tablet so your kid can’t just pull it off and break the screen. The edges are soft and the handle is flexible so it’s great for little hands. It’s also super lightweight. It feels less heavy than some of the 7in tablets I bought before and it’s way bigger. It took a beating from my kid kept charging it under his desk and kicking it.

It’s GOOD but seems to have less battery life than other Android tablets
My kids are 10-years-and-older, so I don’t actually need the parental features built into this device. It’s basically a customized but near-standard Android OS. In my case, I’m just ignoring the FEW extra apps that the manufacturer has put on. It’s not many so it doesn’t take much space. I haven’t looked at uninstalling them but I suspect they’re baked in.This is absolutely NOT a powerhouse of a tablet – the experience you’ll have with it is that you have to wait a bit to load up your app or game, but once it’s going, you won’t experience much of a slowdown to use it. There are some definite exceptions. Those games that are hundreds of gigabytes? Don’t bother with those at all. They’re often the kind that really tax your processer, and this can’t handle it. I’ve also tried playing a few rounds of Gartic phone, which is an online, multiplayer drawing game. I was able to finish every round, but UGH it was unbearable to try to draw something. The battery life on Android tablets is usually so amazing, they last for DAYS without really needing a recharge unless you’re doing some heavy gaming. But with this tablet, even with just light web browsing, or email-reading… the battery gets drained SUPER fast. You’ll get through about 2/3rd of a day before you’ll find yourself wanting to plug in.So, in short, it’s nice for a cheap tablet but EXPECT to get what you pay for.

    Good kid’s tablet
This is an Aheadthink branded series AT11K Android 10″ tablet. Included in box was a 30″ USB Type C charging cable and printed instructions for factory reset. User manual can be found within the apps screen. Power button, volume up and volume down are physical buttons on the top left of the screen. Case is great for carrying with top handle, good corner bumpers, but the stand is a little difficult to pry out of the back for both little hands and big hands. There is a headphone jack, Type-C jack and SD card slot. Battery life is decent & takes 1.5 hours to charge from zero. Setup was easy and took about 15 min with lots of on screen prompts guiding the process.Came with a lot of preloaded apps and “iWawa” specifically for kids. iWawa “Draw” app is for drawing and coloring, but be warned that it comes with musical tunes while using it (same with all iWawa kid’s apps), but you can mute the music in app on screen or turn down the volume with the physical button located at the top left of the screen. Also under the iWawa app are the following kids based apps with lots of activities within them: Montessori, First Learning, Brain Training, Mini Games, STEM, Art and Craft, Kids TV, Theme, Camera, Gallery, Video, Music, Browser, Calculator, Kids Store, Draw. Parental controls and password gets you back into adult functioning tablet. The rear (5 MP) and front (2 MP) facing cameras are very slow to focus and the image quality is poor due to low resolution.Sound quality isn’t the greatest (noticeable when playing videos) but it’s acceptable. Kid’s game and app sounds don’t seem to have any issue coming through load and clear though.I’ve used this as well for internet browsing (Chrome is preloaded default browser) and watching regular (not kid) YouTube. YouTube can be slow while videos load and there is also some lag time when browsing the internet and pages can be a bit slow to load fully. Other than being a bit slow, it’s a decent Android tablet.

    Tablet
This kids tablet is adequate to keep your child busy in the car on trips or at home during the day. It has features to make it more kid friendly. It loads slow but it is what it is for the price. My daughter likes this one quite a bit and it replaced an little bit older kindle fire for kids tablet that she accidentally broke the screen on. Overall this tablet is a good back up or just as a decent gift for younger kids.
