500+ pages in 3days
What can I say, I have been struggling with reading my books for a while now. I never seem to have time and so many distractions. I ended up getting this after a lot of research. It is wonderful. The button make ‘flipping’ pages easy. The text is clear and looks amazing. I can put it down and go do something then pick it up right where I left off.Really glad I went with this vs the Kindle. not being tied to the amazon store and able to easily use my own Ebooks is amazing.Pros:Light weightFast responselarge storage.Easy book management.cons:Note taking is a little difficult.there is a back light/yellow light that I have yet to figure out how to turn off. It seems to be a low light thing.I feel like I am back in highschool or college just consuming books. Feels good to read again

Fantastic replacement of Kindle Paperwhite
I’ve owned a Kindle Paperwhite for 11 years and decided to upgrade since the newer e-readers now have a more gentle backlight with less blue light. I bought both the new Paperwhite and the Kobo Libra Colour to compare side by side. The Paperwhite was hardly an upgrade from my 11 year old device–plus it is heavier, larger, and harder to hold. The Kobo is much more lightweight, comfortable, and ergonomic with the wide side bar and physical page turn buttons. I can easily and comfortably hold it with one hand. The user interface on the Kobo is also much cleaner and less in your face Amazon-store-junky. I can also access Libby directly from Kobo to easily check out library books. I love how you can change the screen brightness by just swiping up and down on the left of the screen instead of having to go into the menus. As for the downsides, I wish the screen was a tad brighter since I almost always have to have at least 15-20% brightness turned on. The color is also a nice touch but I wouldn’t say it’s vibrant.Overall, I find reading on the Kobo a lot more comfortable and natural than on the Kindle. I would probably only return to the Kindle if they brought back the Oasis and cleaned up their user interface.

Great Ereader!
The ereader I was using before this was an old hand-me down kindle.. It finally died so I decided to get this to treat myself :)This device is leagues a head of my previous one! I mainly read mangas and romance novels and I was honestly looking into getting a kindle oasis, but I decided I liked the customizability of the os much more on this device. The screen is super crisp and I really like the fact it has a screen warmth setting that changes throughout the day. The buttons are very responsive and work great as well. The backlight works great when I want to read at night, even at the 3% brightness it is still plenty bright and readable. The biggest selling point of this ereader was the colored screen and the annotation capabilities. While I think both work fine I was a little disappointed in the colored screen. I’ve seen some picture online of the screen showing book covers and they all make the screen look very vibrant and nice.. I’m sure it’s the same for everyone but looking at the colors in person they do appear a little washed out. Luckily for me that wasn’t to big of a let down since at the end of the day this is still an e-ink display.I purchased a 3rd party stylus for this since the kobo one was a little expensive. It worked fine and did what its supposed to. I realized after having it for a few days that it was unnecessary for me because I don’t find myself reaching to write something while I’m reading. If anything I would just highlight quotes from the books, but you don’t need the stylus to use the highlighting feature. There is also a notebook section that allows you to just take notes or do journalling. This wasn’t something I tried extensively, but it functioned fine. The device has a bunch of built in. templates and presets you could use straight out the box.Importing books to this is also super super easy and honestly doesn’t take that long. You can upload epubs or pdfs directly to your kobo wirelessly through dropbox, google drive, or an online website (all this can be done with just your phone). It also has a overdrive section built into the UI if you borrow ebooks from the library (I used to on my kindle, but you would have to take extra steps and it wasn’t as streamlined). Also importing books from a laptop as simple as just drag and drop! Unfortunately the storage isn’t expandable like previous models that used a micro sd card, so if you mainly read manga or comics on this you’ll fun out of storage kinda quickly.Only giving this 4 stars because of the storage limitations, but other than that I have no complaints and so far everything works great!

Feels like major upgrade from Kindle Paperwhite
I cannot explain how much I love this kobo.I am so glad I made the switch from a kindle paperwhite. The reading experience is excellent. I love it so much, all of the different features make it feel like such an upgrade. Annotating books directs on the page in different colors is such a game changer. I wasnât an annotation before this, but the kobo makes it so much fun to do while reading. Very light, battery lasts very long time, colors look great. So many customizable features which is fun. Also I just very much prefer the software over the kindle software. That was my biggest complaint and why I wanted to switch. But at the end of the day, what I love most is the buttons. It seems like such a small thing, but it makes all the differenceLastly – for those worried it will be too big – itâs not. Itâs smaller than you think it would be. A perfect size.I could not be happier

Been playing with new Kobo for a few days now…my old one just got so laggy and slow it was unbearable.+ Using another Kobo is super intuitive. No changes in how I used to navigate the menu/read books, excellent in that regard.+ Everything loads up and syncs so fast!+ Battery has not moved since I charged it, I expect a good few weeks on 1 charge.+ Colour is OKay. Regular books only display the covers and handwritten notes in colour. It is a bit muted and does look like a newspaper print rather than like a mobile phone/tablet screen. It was not the decisive factor for the purchase and I am happy with the way menu and covers look.++ The best feature so far is google drive – managed to sync the books from my phone.o The buttons are indeed a little meh, it is nice to scroll with them, but some parts of the button are just a dead zone that does nothing.- The only thing I do not love about it is the plasticky feel, my old H2O used to have a nice grippy finish, this one does indeed slip out of my hand sometimes, but I can adjust the hold and just get used to the curved side…Screen size is just right and being able to take notes/journal is a feature I may or may not use :DThe one thing this Kobo is supposed to do works and it works flawlessly.Easy 5 stars review, so excited to read more again!

I had a Kindle basic from long long back and wanted to update it to newer model, possibly with buttons like Kindle Oasis, however Oasis has been out of commission and it was not renewed in newer line-ups of Amazon kindle. The ones which were updated was not having a good feedback from users. Hence I decided to go for Kobo Libra Color(KLC). Here are my thoughts.PROS:-1. KLC is a color version with physical buttons and the colors are good enough for e-ink technology and please so not expect the tablet like quality in this. Colors are vivid and comics look as good as you can get with this technology(see images). Also you can get even more vivid colors by switching developer mode on.2. Battery backup is excellent(a week or two probably) with normal reading(couple of hours a day) and even better if the content is pure black and white(B&W). Color has lower dpi but B&W is excellent.3. You can use stylus for annotating and drawing directly on the book. It also has notebook feature.4. If there is a screen door effect(search for this term) then either I don’t have that issue or it really doesn’t matter because it is not at all noticeable.5. Like I said physical buttons are a god-send and very handy.6. You use google drive or Dropbox for very easy file transfer. You can also use applications to make it very easy as well.7. PDFs work very well so epubs is not the only supported format. While you can annotate on PDF file, you can’t highlight on the PDFs like you do on epubs(this is because PDFs are basically like images with no text layer)CONS:-1. You lose the variety that Amazon kindle offers with its large selection of books and also in half the price that Kobo will offer. Regional books will not be found on Kobo and if it is there there it will more expensive than what Amazon offers. A work around is that you can buy on Amazon and convert it to epubs and use it on Kobo. Amazon has that facility.2. Kindle unlimited is yet another thing you might miss if you use that(I didn’t).3. I don’t know if Kobo has service centers in India so that another thing you might have to keep in mind.Final Verdict: Go for it if it is in your budget, it is worth it.

Very happy with my purchase. First e reader I get. Some difficulties to read files from my local library though, that could unfortunately not be fixed by the Kobo customer service.
