Best laptop in years!
I spent over a month researching “the perfect laptop for me” over the Christmas holidays. My criteria was quite simple: 1) it must be very light and portable, 2) the brand must have a proven track record for supporting Linux, and 3) it must be as powerful as possible. I wanted something akin to a powerful gaming laptop minus the weird colors and shapes. Ah, I also wanted a laptop that won’t overheat. I’m currently residing overseas and that eliminated a number of very nice options (e.g. Lenovo’s Legion Pro 9 series, Dell’s Alienware series, etc) because these manufacturers won’t ship overseas. Newer MacBook Pros are well-known for not supporting Linux, btw. In any event, I was ready to pay top dollar for my new laptop since it would be with me for the next 3-5 years. I ended up buying this particular laptop because it checked most boxes. I’m really happy with it. I quickly removed Windows and installed Arch Linux and Hyperland on it. Everything went as planned, except for one thing — the WiFi card. It would cause the laptop to freeze. I ordered the Intel AX210 card, which costs ~$20 on Amazon, replaced the orignal card, and I can now report that everything works beautifully.

Used 1 time after 4mths – mother board is shot
I purchased this product in April. Never got to even open and use until around June to set it up as we were going to use it to stream pinball tournaments. Used it once then got the blue screen for a bit defender issue that could not be fixed. Took it in to my computer guy and he said the mother board would need to be replaced. Never received a response from Amazon as this is very unfair to receive a product that we literally used 1 time and now have to replace the mother board as I did not purchase the warranty on this very expensive computer. My computer person said that the 30day return was because the sellers warranty was from the date the purchaser bought the computer, so be aware as that didn’t even save me, my computer guy had to also purchase an extended warranty to keep costs down for me on the repair. Very unfair delivery from this vendor and Amazon. I never received a response back from Amazon.

Excellent Decision
I have been looking at laptops and decided on the Lenovo Slim Pro 9i. Costco had it for 300 dollars off but then it sold out. I looked at some other options but none of them had the specifications this one did. I decided to go with the renewed one because I saved $800 dollars. I do have the Asurion protection plan just in case. I am happy to say that set up took less than 5 minutes, most of that time was Microsoft checking for updates, so that was easy. The laptop looks brand new. The display is absolutely gorgeous. It is lightning fast which is what I needed because I always have multiple tabs open because I am always trying to do three things at once. I was able to download my Microsoft 365 with no problems at all. The only issue I am having is adjusting to the number pad, but that is no fault of the computer. My last laptop doesn’t have a number keypad and neither does my iPad Pro 12.9″. I am sure I will adjust fairly quickly. The keyboard is very responsive, and it is backlit so whatever the lighting conditions are you will be able to type. the trackpad is great too. The specifications on this laptop are awesome. One of the few laptops that have Intel i9 with a touchscreen. I only wish it had 64gb of memory versus the 32gb. I am going to be doing some video editing and wanted the better specs. My last laptop I also purchased from Amazon and didn’t have any problems with it until recently, after 4 years of heavy usage. I think I will continue to enjoy and get many years of use out of this laptop. I will post a follow up review after I have used it for a while. I suggest when purchasing a renewed product, you make sure the people you are dealing with have great ratings or that it is Amazon itself that is selling the renewed item. That way you will get good customer service if anything goes wrong with the item. This laptop was barely used. It is totally like a brand-new laptop. I am very happy with my decision and the extra $$$ in my pocket is a good thing. I hope you enjoy it as muc
