Strong security, easy recovery
The ThinkPad P17 Gen 2 helps safeguard your data from the moment you pick it up. A match-on-chip fingerprint reader stores your biometric data on a separate system chip to deter hacking. In addition, there’s the discrete Trusted Platform Module (dTPM) for hardware-based data encryption, plus a self-healing BIOS that can restore earlier system settings when needed.

Keyboard was coming off.
I received the laptop and the keyboard was already coming out in one corner. I tried to snap it back in but I could without taking the whole laptop apart. When I went to return it thru Amazon, they wanted me to pay for the return of the defective product.I had to call the vendor so that they could send me postage paid shipping label. Now I have to wait for them to receive the defective unit, before they send a new one. Unless all they do or fix the one in sent back.So far not a good experience for a $2,700 laptop.

Great machine, when it works. Died with SSD failure after 12 days of use.
This is a great machine when it works. Itâs fast. Responsive. Really excellent and I loved it. I received it on Jan 28, set it up and started using it on Jan 31. And today, February 12 I tried to wake it from hibernation and got this: detection error on storage device1 (m.2)Apparently that means the hard drive is dead with no way to fix it. I had already moved all of my files, installed everything, set up the whole machine to have that happen. When your computer is your living and you pay $4,500 for it with an extended warranty, you expect it to work flawlessly. The fact that the SSD died after only 12 days is a horrible experience.I tried everything online to fix it and thereâs nothing I can do at this point. This is a serious flaw.
