Great headset for DJ, Small studio, or Podcasting.
I bought these mainly to mess around with Ableton Live and start making a few songs with an Arturia Minilab keyboard. A few things to note:1. They sound great with great base levels. However once you increase the base levels they tend to distort a bit.2. They have are great noise cancelation compared to another pair that i own. My wife would be on video calls and complain that she could hear the music on my old pair even after turning them down. On these i can turn them up pretty high and she will not hear them. This can be a plus if you want them for a kid who uses a tablet for youtube or something like that.3. They are comfortable compared to other sets i have used in the past or even my last set of headphones. Even though i can wear them for a couple of hours, you will feel a little tension on your ear after long use. Compared to my old pair this is not a complaint as i could only wear my old pair for 30 minutes at a time before having to take them off due to the pain on my ears.4. I would definitely recommend for dj’s but they may not have a good enough balance for professional mixing in a study. They will also do great as personal monitor headphones such as a drummer who is recording. These may also be great for a beginner podcast studio as they have a long cable.5. Last thing is after two months of normal use, the mackie logo seems to be coming off or erasing. This is a bummer as it is what adds to the esthetic of the headphones. You can see this on one of my uploaded images.I still rated 5 stars even though the logo is coming off because the quality of audio you are getting for the price is unbeatable.

Really good headphones, can’t believe they were so affordable
I bought these for my son, for music production work on the PC. I was blown away at how good they sound. They don’t have a shrill high end treble like a lot of studio headphones, so they’re a little warm sounding. You can hear the bass, and not worry about the high end making you (or your child) deaf.I liked these headphones so much I ordered a higher end Mackie headphone for myself (MC-350) but I was shocked to discover the MC-100s are better… Not only do the MC-100s sound better, they fit better. MC-100s are second generation headphones. Mackie learned from their 150/350/450 series and released a higher quality headphone with the MC-100.I would recommend this headphone for someone that needs studio headphones but can’t afford something high end. And they’re exceptionally good for a kid because they’re affordable and relatively durable.

The jack is weak and will eventually fail
I have 3 pairs of this item, and have no complaints about comfort and sound quality. They are used constantly in a studio environment. However, the 3.5mm jack is not robust and without any mis-treatment will eventually fail. I would pay a couple dollars more for a soldered and higher quality plug. Mackie should consider getting rid of the cheap molded plug and improving the quality. I bought replacement 3.5mm plugs, but found the wire on these headphones to be very cheap and virtually impossible to repair. The wires inside the cable do not have insulation, there’s a coating of colored paint instead, with nylon thread woven into the copper wires. Impossible to solder, even after using solvents, abrasives, and flame to try to expose bare wire. In the end, you have to throw these away.

Headphones Work Great!
I was looking for monitor-type headphones for my podcast. I didn’t want a built-in mic. I love the sound on these and they seem perfect for what I need them for. Good highs and lows and good overall sound quality. I have only had for a week but they are good so far. The Mackie brand was a brand I trusted back in the day so I thought I would give these a chance and they have not disappointed so far!

5 Stars for the Price
You get what you pay for. No, they are not great sounding headphones, but they are decent enough. Unhappy with the “kid” options available on Amazon, I got these for my 6yo. They fit him fine, are comfortable, and sound MUCH better than the $30 JBL TUNE 500s they replaced. I would not hesitate to buy these again, and strongly recommend considering these over the junk they have targeted towards kids.

The quality is compared to a very expensive one.
I purchased this for my husband he is a DJ and he was so amazed by the quality he thought itâs very expensive like $300 but after I checked all the reviews this particular item was the most affordable and efficient to use.

Keep looking if you have an electric piano – Mine has never sounded worse than using these
I bought these headphones to replace the 5-year old random brand headphones that I’ve been using with my Technics Digital Ensemble piano after the cushion started to wear out. When these arrived the first thing I did was plug them in and I was taken back by how overly bright and blown out any high octaves sound. The samples used in my piano are taken from a Steinway, and I was pretty sure even recordings of a Steinway aren’t supposed to sound like that, so I grabbed my old headphones to compare:Playing the same chords on repeat and switching between the two, these were noticeably boosting the highs way too much and lacked an actual feeling of bass in the bass range, rather most bass notes felt flat yet managed to get muddy when playing chords. I even adjusted the settings in the piano itself to try to mellow the highs out a bit and boost the bass, but not even changing how the sound is produced could save these. My 25-dollar 5-year-old headphones sounded considerably better in comparison, they can sometimes lack a bit in the upper highs but they’re much more well-rounded than these. In conclusion, I’d say these would probably be okay for vocals, but they definitely are not for anyone playing an electric piano.

The sound quality is great. The build quality is great. Comfortable to wear for long periods. I travel almost nonstop and bought this pair for listening to music in airports and on planes while I wait for repair parts for my broken m50x.The only problem I had is the cord is too long for this and its permanently attached. I opened them up, shortened the cord by about half, resoldered it, retied the strain relief knot and put them back together.Compares favorably with much more expensive pairs, bought these for under $40 and I treat them roughly.

Brought these headphones to replace my gaming headset and have been blown away by the quality of audio being able to hear every little creak in horror games so clearly I felt like I was there
