    A great little home server
I must admit I had my doubts initially. These specs at this price point? What’s the catch? But I have been really surprised at the performance from this little guy!I’ve been using it for a bit now, and got it to run as a small home server to have a large USB drive attached to, storage space, email client, media server, etc. for the house.Setup was quick and painless, with Win11Pro already installed. With the size of the drive, I partitioned it and dropped Linux on there to dual boot. Worked out of the box. Will push a 4K TV attached so you get great visuals if using as a media PC, and all the server apps have been very easy to migrate/install.This box has enough RAM and HD space to run many different scenarios based on what you’re doing with it. It can even work as a business PC, and includes the hardware to attach it to the back of a monitor, if that’s what you need.3 USBs and 3 HDMIs and 2 NIC ports all give many variations of connectivity options. Runs quiet, stays relatively cool, and power draw so far seems to be pretty average since this is running a lightweight processor. To be clear, this won’t power your gaming rig, but it has enough speed to do what it needs to.I’ll be sure to look for this brand in the future for my home or when friends ask me to give them recos for new, small, simple PCs.

Excellent mini PC for browsing, office work, media, and light gaming
This is a great little mini pc that takes up almost no space on my already crowded desk. Windows 11 pre-installed means simple quick setup – of course Windows always has a lot of updates. Just be patient. USB connections for keyboard/mouse combo and HDMI for the monitor. Connected USB speakers to another port and good to go. This PC is perfect for light browsing, documents, and watching video. The installed 12GB RAM and 512GB SSD means you’re all set for multiple apps and browser windows without bogging down. Steam runs perfectly and older games such as Rage ran great. Newer titles like Doom Eternal and Wolfenstein were playable, but slow. Others like Minecraft etc. run fine. Three HDMI ports, three USB ports, audio out, and two ethernet ports (didn’t try them as I was on my wifi). The updated Intel N100 processor has come a long way since introduced a decade ago – very quick boot up and overall zippy performance. All in all, this tiny PC is a great addition to anybody’s office space and will get you through some casual browsing as well. Picture shows the PC next to an iPhone 12 so you can get an idea how big it is.

Happy to Order this for my son
A solid budget-friendly mini PC with efficient processing power and modern DDR5 memory, ideal for everyday tasks but with limitations in heavy multitasking and gaming. The Mini PC Alder Lake-N95 is a compact, efficient, and budget-friendly option for everyday use. It performs well for light productivity tasks, media streaming, and general office use but may not suit heavy multitasking or gaming scenarios. With minor improvements to storage and thermal management, it could offer even greater versatility and appeal to a broader audience.

Heatsink does not make contact with CPU [Nov/Dec 2024]
The DREAMFYRE N95 mini PC thermal throttles to 400-500 MHz almost instantly, which makes it extremely sluggish. I opened it up to investigate, and found that the heatsink does not touch the CPU at all. There is a small air gap between the factory-applied thermal paste and the heatsink. I’ve included pictures showing this.It is possible to greatly improve the CPU performance by filling the gap between the CPU and the heatsink. First I tried adding a thick thermal pad kind of like you would find on an SSD heatsink (pictures included), and it helped a lot but it still ran hotter than it should, reaching 90+ C under load. Then I saw in another customer review that a 20x20mm copper sheet could be used to bridge the gap better. So I ordered a kit of several 20x20mm copper sheets with varying thicknesses. 1mm is what the other review had suggested to use but 1mm is a little too thick on my system and with one of those in place the heatsink’s standoffs don’t touch the PCB. It would still work but I had thinner sizes in my kit that fit better. 0.5mm is also slightly too thick. 0.3mm was the best thickness I had. So I installed a 20x20x0.3mm copper sheet with thermal paste on both sides (I used Noctua NT-H2) between the CPU die and the heatsink. Now the CPU runs about 56-60 C at idle and 82 C under full load. This is very acceptable thermal performance for a small and quiet system, and if it had performed this way out of the box it would be a 5-star product.

: I recently got this Mini PC with the 12th Gen Alder Lake-N100 processor and it’s been fantastic. Setup was super easy, and it starts up really quickly thanks to the 512GB M.2 SSD. The 12GB of DDR5 RAM makes multitasking a breeze, whether I’m using it for work, school, or just browsing at home. One of the coolest features is the ability to connect up to three 4K displays. It’s made my workflow so much smoother and more enjoyable. Plus, the WiFi 5 and Bluetooth 5.0 ensure I stay connected without any issues.

I recently purchased the Alder Lake-N95 Dreamfyre Mini PC as it was too good of a deal to pass up. It was one of the cheapest Mini PCs out there and I wanted to replace my old Windows 10 desktop with something that ran on Windows 11. I wasn’t looking for a gaming PC, just wanted something that I could run multiple applications on and didn’t take forever to load. This PC does just that. First, the Mini PC was basically a plug and play device. As other reviewers have mentioned, Windows 11 is pre-installed so once you plugged it in and powered it up, the PC took care of the rest. Took around 5-10 minutes to load up and have everything personalized the way I wanted. Once the PC loaded, I was pleasantly surprised by its performance. While it runs on a basic N95 chip, with 8GB ram, it ran quicker than I thought it would. MS Office opened without issue and multiple Office apps along with Chrome browsers loaded in one session without any lag. The WiFi connection is sufficient for my basic day-to-day tasks.Cosmetically, this is also the smallest Mini PC any one in my family owns. You can basically hide it anywhere and you would not know it’s there. The power cable is kind of short though so you will need to put the PC close to your power source. Again, since it’s so small, it really doesn’t matter where you put it. Additionally, the PC still manages to support 3 HDMI/multi-screen connections which I found rather surprising. I only needed 1 HDMI connection as I connected the PC to my 32” TV but it’s nice to have the multi-screen support available as I do enjoy working with dual screens. I also find that the picture quality was quite good for something that’s connected to my basic TV. Additionally, while Smart TVs have YouTube and other apps available, I always find that using a computer is more efficient at using those applications. With the PC being connected to my TV, this basically acts as a Smart TV while also being able to handle various tasks.Lastly, I also found this PC to be rather quiet compared to other Mini PCs my family owns. You can barely notice the CPU fan going even if you have it running for hours. Plus, it does not run hot at all. It is just warm to the touch, and you don’t even notice it being there. I highly recommend this PC to any budget friendly person wanting a device that can handle your basic day-to-day tasks.

I’ve only had the DreamFyre MiniPC for a few days, but I’m already really impressed. I wasn’t expecting a whole lot, especially since it’s so small and affordable, but it’s worked way better than I thought it would. This little device runs smoothly and is suitable for my daily use. 8GB of DDR5 RAM is more than enough for multitasking, while the 256GB M.2 SSD ensures that my files load quickly. It’s about the size of a palm, so it takes up almost no space on my desk. I was worried it might feel cheap, but it actually feels pretty sturdy. The matte finish looks nice, and it’s definitely not flimsy. I was able to set it up in a snap and it fits perfectly into my workspace without crowding anything. It’s lightweight too, so I can easily move it around if I need to.Additionally, being able to connect three monitors at the same time was a huge boost to my productivity. I mostly use my computer for things like web browsing, working in Google Docs and Office apps, streaming videos, and doing some light photo editing. and it’s been super smooth. Web pages load fast, everything’s responsive, and streaming 1080p video is no problem at all. This mini PC has multiple ports and also supports WiFi 5 and Bluetooth 5.0 for fast wireless connectivity. The BIOS is simple and easy to navigate. It comes with Windows 11 pre-installed and the setup process is very simple. I also like the compact design that saves space on the desktop. Moreover, it does come with a VESA mount, so I can mount it behind my monitor to save space. All in all, if you’re looking for a reliable and smooth performing mini PC, this device is a great choice.

The triple 4K display support via HDMI is fantastic for productivity and media – no lag, just sharp visuals.Setup was easy, and the Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity are reliable with no dropouts. It’s perfect for tight spaces, sitting neatly on my desk without clutter. Overall, it’s a great value – powerful, portable, and ideal for home or business use. Highly recommended!

I’ve recently bought this to try and to use it as a media machine connected to my TV. The specific version I bought was ‘Mini PC Computers 12th Gen Alder Lake-N100(up to 3.4GHz) 12GB DDR5 512GB M.2 SSD Mini Desktop PC’.For the media machine it works great so far. It’s able to play all the content I’ve needed so far (including 1080p) just fine and is very quiet (unlike the old mini pc that I had previously – that one really struggled to play 1080p content and fans would become very loud). The 12GB of memory is much nicer than the often-typical 8GB and makes for a smooth sailing running all the stuff that I need (e.g. browser with a lot of tabs, streaming, playing media, etc.). I really appreciate the vendor including more than 8GB of memory, this is the area where many other offerings fail.I didn’t try to do SSD benchmarking, however as part of setting the machine up I did such things as encrypting the drive – and I was pretty impressed with the SSD performance. While it wasn’t blazingly fast as some other drives it was still more than fast enough (I was getting something like 150MB/sec read+write at the same time during the encryption process, so it was doing over 300MB/sec throughput just fine) and – which is far more important – it didn’t visibly degrade over time due to the heat buildup. It is a problem I’ve seen way too often with other SSDs – a drive would claim blazing-fast performance, but put any amount of sustained load on it (such as when re-encrypting the drive) and the performance will crater very fast with the drive unable to get rid of all the heat. I’m very happy to see that this doesn’t seem to be a problem for this Mini PC.The machine also came with Windows 11 Pro pre-installed and I didn’t have any issues with setting in up and updating it. Everything seems to work as it should and for my needs Windows OS is perfect, so I’m happy with that. This Dreamfyre Mini PC is also interesting for having TWO Ethernet ports. This comes in extremely handy if you want to use one as a router (and given the general lack of quality and reliability in consumer routers you very well might want to). I have one very similar mini pc running as router (using opnSense) and I couldn’t be happier with the result – it’s heads and shoulders better and more reliable than using any of the consumer routers I’ve had experience with. All in all – I’m happy with this purchase.P.S. I’ve put AA battery into my photos for a better sense of scale – this Mini PC really *is* mini.

I was going to say ya get what ya pay for but I dont think this even delivers that. Drastically outperformed by my 10+ year old half broken laptop I was trying to replace. I was actually blown away by how slow this was, usually at least 30 seconds to load a basic website like youtube and even freezes up switching between folders plus nonstop audio issues. Paperweight right out of the box.
