Solid, quiet, fast response
Love this little PC! My tower and it’s innards are over 11 years old and I felt it might be time to think about upgrading. I discovered mini PCs and thought that might be the way to go- I am on in years and not up to wrestling with full-size towers anymore.
I switched to Linux years ago and no longer game, so my needs are modest. I just want something to do web developing and everyday tasks on. Windows 11 came installed and I was impressed how zippy and responsive it is. I turned around and they had released the z100’s bigger brother, the z300. I decided to purchase it and use the z100 as a Media Player.
Which brings me to another winning point- price. For all it has to offer, the prices can’t be beat. Easy set-up, a metal chassis, quiet as a mouse, fast solid Wi-Fi, and numerous ports including 2 HDMI and USB 3.2 gen 2 ports, from a well-established, reputable company. I am well-pleased.

Remarkable power in a small package, but you’ll melt your hand off if you touch it!!
Everything about this computer is great for its size and design. The processor is listed as an N300, which in reality is a variation of the Core i3 – so it has desktop performance and stability. Plenty of high-speed RAM, great performance on the m.2 SSD installed, Wi-Fi connectivity is stable and with tri-band antennas it performs well on my 6Gig network. It’s also got 2.5Gig ethernet, which is the best you can have at the moment, and speedy on our network for file transfers and fiber internet.
It ships with 24H2 on it, which is a bit of a gotcha as there’s some changes under the hood that I had to figure out how to get to work with my older network server and desktops. I upgraded it to Enterprise after setting it up, which went flawlessly as well.
The one thing I don’t like about it is that it’s fanless and the case is the heatsink… I know, it’s in the description, but still – I thought at the time that it wouldn’t run too hot because the case is all metal, but when using this computer for even basic stuff, it can get broiling hot all over the surface and sides of the case pretty quickly, and while processing videos, it was nuclear; it took almost 40 minutes after shutdown for me to be able to pick it up comfortably! Thankfully there’s no processor throttling evident, so the cooling method is effective, but it has me on the look-out for a USB-powered fan I can mount to the upper surface easily…
Still I recommend this mini-pc, it’s a powerhouse that rivals any standard desktop machine.

So impressed, I purchased another!
I am a tech nerd… so initially I purchase the NEO Z300 to be a “headless” Linux 24-7 VPN gateway when I am at work or traveling, also it has enough horsepower to run Nginx (web server), Samba (file server), as well as home automation and monitoring. For that, it is solid, inexpensive, and reliable.
I bought a second computer to replace an old laptop– it functions admirably as silent Windows workstation that is capable of word processing, spreadsheets, surfing the web as well as simple games– using a wireless keyboard and mouse. I have it VESA mounted on the back of an Amazon Basics 24″ monitor.
If you are in the market for simple and solid tech, I’d highly recommend this!

Great little PC! Totally silent!
This little PC has exceeded expectations. I bought it primarily to be a retro game emulation machine. Based on my own experience, it easily emulates games through Nintendo 64 era. I suspect it can handle some newer games, too, but I haven’t yet tested that. Low power consumption, and totally silent. It’s not a bad looking unit, but I used the included vesa mount to attach it to the side of my TV stand where it’s completely out of sight, just how I like it. I connected mine to a network cable so there is no need to use the included wifi antennae. This really is great. Good job, MINIX.

I got rid of Windows as the first step and put Ubuntu instead. Purrs like a kitten. Not getting as hot as I thought. But then again, itâs winter.

Great silent mini PC
Great silent mini PC, has very low power draw and great performance. It comes with Windows 11 Pro installed, and got a decent score on PCMark10. I installed Ubuntu server onto it and its running great as a headless Minecraft server and SMB share with an external hard drive. My only complaints would be that it is difficult to open up if you want to replace components, and the locations for the I/O are a bit questionable, making it take up a good bit more space due to where cables attach.

Ho acquistato questo mini pc per sostituire un AK1 PRO (sul quale ho installato Proxmox per virtualizzare quattro macchine e che dopo 17 mesi di funzionamento 24/7 la mini-ventola della CPU ha deciso di fare rumore, ma tanto rumore!, e non trovo in commercio una ventola simile per sostituirla). E ho scelto questo mini pc perchè appunto è senza ventole.
Sono rimasto basito dall’incremento di velocità e dalla dispersione del calore: il pc precedente aveva la cpu attorno ai 48 gradi in idle e 65 quando elaborava, questo rimane sui 36 gradi in idle e 54 gradi quando è sotto carico. I consumi sono praticamente gli stessi, quindi direi ottimo!

Got this to replace an old Minix Android box, it is considerably more expensive, but considerably more powerful and versatile. It runs completely silent and a bit hot, (but not too hot). While it’s a vey low power CPU, the cache and fast memory make it completely useable for AV use. Pleasantly surprised.
