    90s kids dream come true
I genuinely LOVE THIS.Pros:- functional, haven’t run into any issues with the battery or any heating issues. My main concern was overheating but i mainly play gameboy games so this is fine.- smooth. Gameplay is pretty smooth and runs like I remember back in the ye old days.- affordability. It’s a great first emulation device for first time emulation style gamers. This definitely makes me want to explore other devices as well!- so many games. OnionOS makes it really easy to control your games- portability. Great case and discreet size! The only con is I wish it was just so ever slightly larger. My fingers tend to hit the back of the system which has the L2 R2 buttons and that’s been a little frustrating to deal with, but that’s more a me problem than the system itself.

Took a few tries but its great
It took me about 5 hours to lock in but its worth it. Got the Onion OS and I went to wowroms.com for my games, done set didn’t work for me, probably my fault so please google done set when looking for games. I was able to make 360p mp4 videos work on this device and put some music and audio books on it. The common advice is to get a new MSD card, so I purchased a 128gb MSD card off amazon and tossed it in. The MSD card it came with is of mixed reviews so I just tossed it in my GF’s phone and if it dies it dies. DS games feel a little off but it works, ps1 + all the GB generations feel great, may get one for myself and my other family member that games now that I have it all dialed in.

Awesome when you learn how to add games and systems.
I figured this thing out pretty quick and it works great. It’s a lot of fun to pull up games from your childhood and hear that music again and dive in and out of different games at your own pace. Easy to add games when you look into it for just a few minutes.

You want the MOST PERFECT retro emulation experience for techie and non-techie people? This is it!
My review is already BIASED since I’ve purchased many of these Miyoo Mini and Mini Plus devices already! There is a reason this device is considered the G.O.A.T. of the retro emulation scene. It’s because of OnionOS!OnionOS unlocks the true power, features and usability that ALL consumers want, no matter how techie.Quick boot times: CheckAuto load save state if shut down when playing a game: CheckAuto save state a game when pressing the power button: CheckGame switching feature with Screen Captures of the save states for multiple games: Check (this is one of the most powerful features BTW)WIFI: CheckScreen scraping box art from within the device: CheckRetro achievements: CheckCustom themes: CheckCustom boot images: CheckThere’s SOOOO much more with OnionOS.Perfect emulation of every system from PS1 and lower even with 2x scaling, which looks AMAZING on this screen. It is exactly how your remember PS1 games looking in your mind’s eye.You can even create a simple text file that can overclock the CPU just to give you that extra “umphf” you need in some of the heavier PS1 games so that you can have SUPER smooth 2x emulation WITHOUT turing on the graphic enhansments cheats that can sometimes cause “glitches” in some games.Simply put, it’s the GOAT for a reason. This seller is selling this AMAZING device with OnionOS PRELOADED so you have this experience out of the box! You don’t even have to go through the process of doing it yourself!

Clear screen, Great OS, and so many games
If you are looking for something you can play when you are not around internet access and you like old school games then this is what you need. Miyoo is using the OnionOS and it is doing a great job on the small device. The screen look very clean and clear. I like the translucent purple. And this version comes with so many games and it is easy to switch back and forth and save your location. This device is like your old school gameboy, but it comes with 4 more buttons on the back for some of the games that need more buttons. The only thing I have issue with handhelds is the size. I have larger hands and it is sometimes hard to play for long periods of time. Otherwise, this handheld is great and easy to use and there are so many games to have fun playing.

What I liked: -Out of the box it is ready to use, and comes with a ton of games to start. As an emulation device, you can add or modify your list to your hearts content. You’re only limited by the microSD card which you can replace with a larger one later.-Not the most powerful unit on the market, but it can handle PS1 and older games with ease and with very minimal slowdowns. Anything newer (PS2+) will be hit or miss with this device.-The pixel density on the screen is high so, the images are clear.-The screen is also bright and colors are vibrant.-Screen is about a 4:3 aspect ratio so, perfect for classic consoles and arcades games.-Sound is decent and acceptable for the size (more info in the dislikes).-Buttons feel good and responsive. They’re not mushy in any way.-Huge online community for this device. So, there will be tons of support, how to videos, guides, trouble shooting, mods, update info. and etc. easily searchable online.-Light weight, small and fairly thin, but doesn’t feel cheap in any way. Solid overall build.-Comes with everything you need including a nice contoured case specifically for this device, screen protector, microSD card reader (generic and not the best, but works). All that it is missing is a power brick, but any one that you have lying around is usable.-Great device overall, and good value for the money especially when on sale. What I disliked:-No Bluetooth connectivity (so no wireless headphones/earbuds, only wired ones)-Only one speaker on the bottom front corner that can sometimes get covered by your hands/fingers when playing.-There are a few minor odd hiss and pops in the speaker during some load ups, but the sound is fine in the game.-Size. The unit is a pocket device meant to be highly portable and for that purpose the size is great. However, FYI, for large adult hands, extended play may lead to hand cramps for some people, just because of how small it is. Luckily, since this is heavily supported device, there are accessories available, and contoured hand grips that widen the base can be purchased that help with this.-It can do up to PS1 games well but, there’s are no analog controls on this particular device. Noteworthy:-This is an emulation device. Out of the box it is playable and again has a ton of games. For a lot of people, it’s enough. However, to get the most out of the device you will need a computer to be able to move and copy files from the computer to the microSD card and vice versa, including firmware updates or installing new OS. There are more powerful emulation units out there that can emulate beyond PS1 and also, actually solves the dislikes I had but, those units I looked at were at least double or triple the price of this. I may get into those one day, but overall, I really like this handheld console, and the era of games that it can emulate/play is more than enough for me tor now. It’s a great starting point for learning about emulation especially if you love classic games. It performs exactly as you would expect it to, and with the huge online community support for this device, there always something you can learn to do, or find or an answer to.II don’t usually give out 5 stars unless the item has except build quality, functionality, longevity, and value. This Miyoo Mini Plus handheld console, surprisingly checks all those boxes. Highly recommended.

The reviews you may have seen on portable consoles for retro games are accurate, this little thing is great. If you haven’t seen reviews on this and stumbled upon this and want a portable gaming device that’s inexpensive for retro games and you like this form factor and control inputs then this is probably the one you should get. This is a reseller on here, you can get the device from the manufacturer but it won’t come with the case or glass screen protector (I’m not 100% on the protector but I do know they don’t come with a case). It has some stuff on the micro SD card but most of it isn’t great, at least not for me, but you can put your own stuff on this and many people recommend getting a new good microSD card putting onionOS, the certain files from the one that comes with this and then using your own games. The screen is fantastic, it’s everything I wanted the Gameboy screen to be like. The buttons are highly regarded as being some of the best. Battery life is pretty good, depending on how you use it, i get about 4 or so hours. It’s larger than the normal mini but not too large, if you need to use the bumpers depending on your hand size it won’t be very comfortable. It plays everything I’ve tried on it well, without issue.I highly recommend installing OnionOS as the first thing you do, as far as I know this is the only device of this kind that has a third party group of people make a custom OS for one of these for free.

I was recently looking for older games to play but didn’t really know how to get started. When I saw this retro console that looks like an old game boy, I decided to order it and give it a try. It’s amazing! The console comes in a small cardboard box. When I opened it I was surprised to see a nice gray fabric hard case with a good quality zipper. Inside the case was the transparent purple console, a USB C to USB A cable for charging, a glass screen protector with wipes for installation, a USB A card reader stick, and the instructions. All of this fits nicely in the gray case and since the case is shaped to the console, it doesn’t float around inside! I started by charging the console using one of my charging blocks and it didn’t take long. When you first turn it on, it goes through a startup process and then you’re presented with a bunch of applications. The screen is crystal clear and the buttons are very reactive. What amazed me the most is how many actual emulators are on this console and how many games are pre-loaded into it. And if you grew up in the 80’s and 90’s, I’m talking some GREAT games even up to early 2000’s PS1 era. The surprising part is this thing is powerful enough to run many of the more graphically intensive ones smoothly and the battery is so beefy that I haven’t even put a dent in it after hours of play!If you want to put your own custom games on it, all of the data is on a microSD card that’s already loaded into the console. Using the accompanying card reader, you can open up the folders on your PC and load your own games with the compatible emulators. Although there are no games for it, there’s even DOSBox pre-loaded if you want to play you own old PC games.Overall, I think this is a great retro console and it certainly surpassed my expectations from content to quality. So long as you don’t mind it being the size of an old game boy, I highly recommend this retro handheld console!
