I’m giving this tablet five stars, not because it’s the best tablet ever made. This is a value driven rating.I tend to go with the highest end hardware for my tablets – large size, best processor, most memory, big brand name. They are undeniably expensive, but there is nothing worse than spending money on a tablet that turns out to be underpowered. That just leads to frustration and a feeling of wasted money, so I err on the side of overdoing it.I thought it would be interesting to look at this DOMATON tablet, because the specs looked surprisingly decent for the presented price: Android 14, 10.4″ size, 8GB memory, 128GB storage upgradable to 1TB, and priced (at the time I selected it) at $79.99.I was pleasantly surprised to find this is a perfectly capable, solid quality tablet. A big brand equivalent might be more like five times that price, if not higher.It’s not the fastest tablet processor, of course, but if you’re not going to load it down with lots of hungry apps at the same time, it’s more than adequate. 8GB memory is fine – I won’t go less than that unless it’s a throwaway kid’s tablet. 128GB storage is adequate if you don’t install too many apps, but if you need more space you can add it. The resolution of 1200 x 800 on the 10.1″ display is adequate, but not high end.My current tablet, for contrast, has a 12.4″ display with a resolution of 2800×1752. These specs are important in some cases for doing serious work, but for general purpose use, the DOMATON specs are fine.The cameras on the DOMATON are as good or better than my big brand tab, but it’s now three years old so that’s not a surprise. More importantly, I never take pictures with my tab anyway, so why pay a lot for better cameras?There are a couple of ways in which the DOMATON beats my overpriced big brand tablet:- It has an audio jack. My big brand tablet only has a USB port, which means I can’t plug in a headphone and charge the tablet at the same time, unless I add a clunky splitter adapter. Why? To save 25 cents in parts cost? That’s a poor design decision. There is plenty of space for both audio jack and USB-C.- It has a SIM slot for adding a SIM card. For whatever reason, the big brand refuses to provide a SIM slot for US-destination tablets, or will charge an exorbitant price for a model that includes one. The SIM slot is important, because it allows you to add a cellular data plan to the tablet for anywhere internet access, without having to connect to wifi or tether to a cell phone.So far, I have no complaints at all about this tablet. For the price, it’s a really great value.

Seems Good
I have mainly had Kindle Fires in the past which is a different kind of Android. But this one is fast and loads all my Apps I brought in from the Google Play store. I am more of a computer guy for the heavy lifting stuff like Adobe programs and recording DAWs but this is working fine for steaming music and video and web stuff. I haven’t ran into any issues except a dongle I ordered to have a 3.5mm (1/8 inch) jack for headphones that also is meant to allow charging at the same time. When I plugged it in to charge it said it was charging slowly and music was still coming out the speaker. When I unplugged the power it played through the headphones. I tried the same dongle/adapter on my phone and it was Turbo Charging and playing music with no messing in the settings. That’s my only complaint at this point. I haven’t used it much this week but have had it on 24/7 this week and it’s battery was still at 60 percent which is satisfactory for about 8 hours of use and the rest just on. -M-
