Outstanding phone for cord cutters
I have owned Panasonic cordless phones for decades. They are always my first brand of choice when upgrading my phone system.Recently, I got rid of my landline phones. It would be much cheaper to rely on my cellphone. However, I also wanted the convenience of talking on a handset.The great thing about this cordless phone system is its ability to connect to up to 2 cell phones. Once connected, it works rather well, though there are minor downsides.First, you need to place the Panasonic base unit next to where you will keep your cell phone. Since the connection is Bluetooth, there isn’t much distance to play with and both units will need to be close to communicate with each other. You can certainly take your cell phone with you when traveling outside of your home, but once you return, you will need to place it near the Panasonic base unit again where the Bluetooth connection will re-establish itself automatically.There is a setting on the Panasonic phone that puts it in “cellphone only” mode. This gets rid of the constant message that appears on the screen that indicates you are not connected to a landline.Making calls on the handset while connected to your cellphone isn’t quite as fluid as I had hoped, but it works well. You need to dial the number you want, press the CELL button beneath the screen, and then there is a brief pause and a few beeps until the phone connects.Cell phone quality is excellent. There is no breakup, no crackling. The only issue I found is that the overall volume level could be a bit better. I had the volume turned all the way up on the handset and thought that it still could have been louder. Then again, I am over 60 years old and my hearing isn’t as good as it used to be.Caller ID information is transferred from your cell phone to the Panasonic handset, and a voice will not only announce the caller but also inform you when a text message is being sent to your phone and who is sending it.You can also transfer your entire phonebook from your iPhone to the main handset and it will propagate to all the other handsets in your home. The only issue I had with this was I ended up with 200 phone entries and found the search capabilities on the handset to be lacking. I erased all the entries and ended up manually entering the top 10 contacts I mostly dial.The build quality of these phones is excellent and though Panasonic has a newer model for 2024, I bought these for the DECT 6.0 capability which gives you more range and has better Amazon reviews than the newest cordless system.Anyone looking to save money and drop their landline service should be looking into this phone system. I had considered going VOIP but that requires a monthly subscription. With just your cell phone placed nearby, this entire cordless system will provide you with household phone access with no extra fees outside of your wireless phone plan. It’s just short of being the perfect solution, and by that I mean there is a slight inconvenience in not having a dial tone or an immediate dial, but there is only a few seconds of delay to dial outbound. I also think the volume could be better, but it’s good enough for these older ears to deal with.

I bought these to replace a set that was over ten years old. I chose a Panasonic to replace a set because that set was incredible (and lasted over ten years.).Pro: Back-lit buttons are nice, the display is fine, definitely better than those phones that are amber black-lit. Plenty of room in your Phone Book and blocked numbers list. Quality construction, I dropped one a couple of times on hard surfaces, no damage. You can set up the phones as a baby monitor. Big reason I bought these is the call block button – block calls immediately anytime whether youâve answered it or not. Display a previous call and block the number. With the old set Iâd have to go thru multiple menu settings to block one call.Con: Battery life isnât that great, donât leave them off the hook overnight, but that may improve once the batteries are go through some charging cycles. Reception range is average, definitely less than our old set.This set is really fine, except for some disappointing operation. The reception is not as strong as my previous set. The sound quality of the speaker phone is poor, distorted. My old set lit up if you had a voice mail message or a missed call. This one only lights up for messages. I miss that feature. The buttons are too sensitive, many times when the phone rings, if I pick it up it would answer the call before it could display the caller ID.Despite all of the above I would still recommend this set, although battery life and reception may be downers. And itâs Panasonic.

These pretty much do everything
I set up speed dials to all my kids.You can name each unit to make the intercom feature more useable. It is much easier to intercom the family room instead of #3.The phone book has groupings to make searching easier.Coverage is great. I put the base unit in the middle of the house and one phone at each extreme and everything works.It tells you if you have a VM and provides easy access via one button. The only weakness is the VM light is sort of amber, on top of the phone and not very bright.You can block up to 1000 phone numbers, you know from calls where nobody is on the line. However, I get so many of these I wonder if I will run out of spaces. I suppose you can free some up by deleting the oldest on the assumption they aren’t using them anymore.

Adding this handset was easy
I had three handsets with this Panasonic Answer machine set I wanted another so bought this one to match the model on the answer machine. This came quickly was packaged nicely with clear easy instructions on the handset; I placed it on the answer machine base and it set up like magic; all phone numbers are in the new addition and the sound is loud and clear so far. It cost $50 but seems worth it. I give it 5 stars.

Poor volume; otherwise, very good product.
I intended to use this 3-phone setup in the home of someone elderly and unable to keep their cell phone handy. I found that I could couple/tether their cell phone to the Panasonic phones by using a bluetooth adapter. The problem that immediately came up was the inability to hear well enough on the Panasonic phones, even when turned wide open. Eventually gave up and returned the system. It was a shame because the phones were of high quality and well made.
