Purchased this Sound Card to fix a Bad Windows 10 update – EDIT
I purchased this Sound Card after Bad Windows 10 update which made my sound extremely distorted on my had-built ASUS Pro-97 computer, which has worked well for over 5 years. No problems now! Microsoft was not helpful, nor was ASUS. No driver updates fixed the issue. The next time I fired up my PC the distortion was back! So i reinstalled the driver supplied and that worked for about a minute, then back to distortion mode! WTF? Another maybe related issue is that my mouse is also super slow and when watching a YouTube video, the playback stutters as well! Screw Microsoft!!I think that the card may be OK; I finally discovered that a bad DVD drive in my computer tower was the culprit causing the problems of stuttering audio and bad video as well! The process of elimination finally solved the problem! Wasn’t the Windows 10 update per se, however, it appeared that way because it happened right afterwards! Go figure! Took me weeks to unravel this mystery by slowly removing component parts and rebooting each time! Whew!

Works, drives loaded and restored sound in my PC
The onboard sound chip died in an old PC (HP P6774dy – yeah, THAT old), and this card was able to get the sound system back in action. In this particular case, I had to re-install Windows due to the way the onboard interfered with things, but was not an issue of this card. After the Windows 10 re-install, the onboard was still D.O.A., but once I added in this card, the sound was back and has worked flawlessly since. It was an odd error/ failure, but luckily this card was available at a great price and fixed up the PC.

Computer can’t detect it
Sound card can’t be detected by my computer. Attempting to install the driver is unsuccessful – it can’t find the card and exits installation with no other options (also fails if ran as admin). Device Manager is unable to find the device, and I’ve tried disabling all other output options as a precaution as well.Other notes:* No manual was included with the device* Driver is a mediafire link, which makes it difficult to authenticate the driver from a security standpoint* Driver, once downloaded and unpacked, appears to have been last modified on 9/26/2015* When using my 2nd PCIe slot, it disables my WiFi card in my first PCIe slot* Using Windows 10 Pro (Build 17763)Concluding thought: Purchased the cheapest option and think I paid the price.

Great value, annoying non-autodetecting drivers ð
The sound card was good quality and works fine for a cheap audio solution, however the drivers are not automatically detected in Windows 10 which is ridiculous for such a cheap and old chipset. Once you download the latest drivers it works fine though. I don’t know anyone that has a CD-ROM for the included drivers.

does not work with win 10 proprerly
I could not find any driver that actually assigned the channels properly in windows 10. I spent two hours testing and looking things up when I should have just gotten an old soundblaster 5.1. Dont waste money on this generic thing unless you care less about your 5.1 sound and just have a couple speakers.
