Very simple to learn to operate
I think this is a great little gaming system. It runs on ArkOS and uses emulation station. This is a very easy operation system to learn. While on any menu screen it shows at the bottom of the screen what buttons do what. So until you learn them all you need to do is look at the screen for instructions. The screen on this is very nice! It’s plenty bright and vibrant. I keep mine at 65% and that is plenty bright in a dark or lit room. The general build of mine seems nice and the plastic feels solid and doesn’t flex when gripped. I think the d-pad works well and is not stiff at all like some game systems. The A B X Y buttons all work great for me although some might find the buttons to be on the smaller size. The sound is decent for only having one speaker. As far as game play pretty much every game I tried works as good as I would expect. The only game emulator that I had any issues with was under the MAME2003 category. Some of the games would not start and it would just return to the menu. This is probably because some of the games listed under this category need a different emulator and won’t work with MAME2003. You can change emulators for every system on this device except for the MAME2003 for some reason. The games that wouldn’t work probably would have worked with fbneo as the emulator if I had been able to switch to that. Anyway all of the other systems work fine and you can switch emulators on them to improve game play. All dreamcast games I tried worked. All psp mini games I tried worked. All ps1 games I tried worked. There are over 14,000 games that come on this thing so the few that I found that don’t work is just a drop in the bucket compared to what does work. The battery life on this so far has been great and the battery is easily accessible because this actually has a battery door that’s easy to open. I have found that I have been able to play for long periods without my hands getting cramped so to me this form factor is comfortable but I do not have large hands. All in all this is a good starting point for someone looking to get into retro gaming without a large learning curve. A good value for what you get.

Doesn’t run all of the games BUT works really well with nostalgic titles
I have been seeing these all over the internet as viral ROM handheld players in the old fashioned gameboy-like style. This thing is impressive and plays the majority of games really well. It has tons and tons of titles and tells you how to import more from your PC if need be. The screen quality is incredible and it gives a modern feel to the nostalgic games I play. Great as a gift for someone that grew up with these games or for yourself. The only gripe I have with it is that it is not intuitive as to how to switch games when you’re already in one. I just turn it off and turn it back on.

It’s became a guilty pleasure
When I was a kid, my sister and I used to ride bicycles up to a store in town to buy an Atari cartridge, so I have seen gaming from the start (not mentioning Commodore Vic 20, sssh, I’m dating myself). I picked up this game console as more of a “how good can it be”, but not realizing it contained over 15,000 games. I have now had it for weeks and still am being surprised by obscure games I keep finding on it. I spend a lot of time in the arcades as teen, and being able to play those games on this console is a treat. Sure, there are some games that don’t play on this emulator platform, but there are so many that play without issue that the ones that don’t are a tiny minority. I repaired/rebuilt full-sized upright video game cabinets that only played one game, so having all those games on this one handheld console is pretty amazing.The controls of this game do good representing different consoles. Cross controls, quad buttons, thumb joysticks, and four triggers cover most games. The screen is bright and sharp and the battery seems to last much longer than I expected. The game came with a screen protector that is a nice bonus and a set of headphones. Overall, I’ve been very happy with it and find myself playing obscure games I have never heard of just because I can.

Incredible Little Console
I am not sure if all the copyrights have been cleared and everything is properly licensed but the fact that for 90 bucks this has a tons of games on it is amazing. It’s not only a good value but also some of the games are not easy to come by these days. Some need a bit of tweaking in the settings. The memory card contains directories for other systems like the AMIGA but are empty. So while it’s great as is for anybody who just wants to dive in into some retro gaming, getting other systems to work does require some extra work and research. Still five stars for a lot of fun and giggles. I hope this helps to make a decision.

Basically the same thing as mor expensive units with lower quality parts and a very low price tag.
I have another handheld that is very similar to this one with a different operating system, but the same form factor, button layout and similar hardware. The system I paid $100 for has nicer buttons, a recessed screen protector and better sticks, but this one gives you cheaper build quality, but at a significantly lower cost.I wouldn’t hesitate to buy one of these for retro gaming at this price. It will play up to PS1 games at full speed (definitely not all PS1 games), so that gives you several systems and libraries to choose from. It comes loaded with plenty of games and it is easy to add more if you wish.This little Gameboyish hand held is really, really cool for less than a new console/PC game.

Upon charging and turning on, blue light turns on but screen completely black. When doing some research, it appears this is a known issue and that the SDR card needs to be swapped out with a brand name card for it to work. Additionally, and more alarmingly, it is a known issue that the SDR card used is prone to catching on fire. Will obviously be returning but my son is very disappointed to have spent his hard earned money on this item that he was so excited for.
