Highly recommend muOS if you are wanting to play N64.
At first when i received this device i was fighting with it, trying to get it to work right. Finally after 4 CFWs later its perfect. Mainly wanted it for N64 games and while its NOT perfect for that, its still a fantastic device! I HIGHLY recommend muOS to be installed. The stock OS is meh, Modded Stock OS is better but not as good as some people say. And im still using the nonbranded micro SD card with it and i have no issues. Not saying that they wont happen for everyone, but for me, its working great. Will be getting a new sd card later on. Over all a GREAT little handheld!

Not user friendly as advertised – Do not buy as a gift.
I bought this as a gift because itâs advertised as working right out of the box. Thatâs not true at all. The device wonât even boot past the Anbernic logo. I tried basic troubleshooting, like reconnecting the battery, and still nothing. Now Iâve found out Iâm supposed to reformat the SD card and reinstall firmware, but I canât even do that because I donât have the right tools to connect it to my Mac, and it doesnât seem Mac-friendly anyway. This thing is basically a complicated Linux device, not something simple like they make it seem. Total disappointment.

This is quickly becoming one of my favorite possessions. Nostalgia is huge, and the ability to have a hand held without social media all over it is so so so refreshing.

Did not start up….until I re-flashed it with a new mSD card
Build quality:Great build quality. Feels solid in hand and the buttons are tactile and does not feel wobbly. The screen is bright and sharp enough for the games.Speakers:The speakers do the job, but don’t expect anything fancy. Sometimes my right palm will cover the speaker grill and mute the sound a little.CONS:Upon the first start up, the device was stuck at the logo loading screen and never made it to the apps page. I was tempted to return it here, but after some research, it seems there is a common problem with these devices with using unreliable mSD cards to store the OS. To fix, I had to back up the existing files (approx 58GB), find a new reliable mSD card, download the latest OS from the official website, flash the new mSD with the new OS, and plug it it. After that the device will work reliably.

Worth the purchase – runs PS1 easily.
Was stuck deciding between this and the Miyoo Mini. This runs PS1 games well. I took the advice of others and used a different Micro SD card – you can download the latest firmware and flash the image to the card easily.

Look at other models
Like a number of other reviews, this model has been stuck at the loading screen right out the box. Donât try your luck with this one⦠look at other models. Unless youâre cool with troubleshooting or plan on replacing the OS.

I have ten year old twins… and keeping them busy on long car rides is a feat! But, it’s cheap and easy to do. The whole system itself is affordable, it comes with a multi-function charging cord, can be hooked to a tv, and has already kept my twins entertained for hours. I love the nostalgia of it! MOM APPROVED!!!
