Perfect for Surface Pro 8
This drive worked great for my Surface Pro 8, unlike another brand that I had to return. Be careful, some SSDâs out there draw too much power for a Surface Pro 8. Drawing too much power results in random crashes. This one works great. I use this SSD to clone and expand a smaller 256 GB SSD. I used disk cloning software to clone and upgrade a smaller hard drive. I used Acronis. You will also need an external enclosure for this SSD for the cloning process. I put this SSD in the external enclosure and started Acronis. After about 20 minutes, my old 256 GB hard drive had been cloned onto this new 1TB hard drive. Using a paper clip and a number four torx, which I picked up at my local big box hardware store, it was easy to pop open the back cover and unscrew the tiny screw, holding in the old SSD. My old SSD was in a small case. Gently I removed it from the carrying case. I use a small amount of heat sink paste on the new SSD and put it into the carrying case. It was easy to then put the new SSD back into my Surface Pro 8, replace the screw and close the back SSD cover. With external power now attached, my Surface Pro 8 immediately booted up and has been running great for the last several weeks. I was pleased with the SSD quality, value for the money, and easy installation.

Works with Surface Pro 7+
I got the 1TB and can confirm it works with the Surface Pro 7+. Clean install using factory recovery was easy. I first wanted to check that. However, I wanted to clone my existing install and got it accomplished. I thought I might be able to help the next guy a little. I used a free, open source program called Clonezilla (after several attempts and work around attempts with Acronis to no avail). Side note, for larger replacement drives, you’ll need to run the software in “advance” mode and set an optional switch for proportional imaging, otherwise you’ll end up having to create a second drive for the extra space left on the new hard drive (ask me how I know, lol). There are some easy to follow guides on the internet, I think on the clonezilla website. Oh, the Clonezilla program boots off a usb thumb drive (there are easy guides on how to access boot options on the Surface) into a simple program so Windows isn’t running while cloning, which is a good thing. You just copy the files to the thumb drive and boot to it.

Delivered Overnight, work perfectly!
I bought this specifically because of the promised delivery date. The seller exceeded my expectations!!! I live in a remote part of the U.S. (southern N.M., up in the mountains – GOD’s country, to say the least). Best Nvme for steamdeck out there!
This Samsung drive blows away other 2230 at speeds of read and write. The most important part however is the IOPS. This is most crucial for gaming and itâs more or less random reading and writing which is where games come into. So anything with a high iops will load games super fast. I put this into my steamdeck and man games load so quick. Also steam can save games super fast to the deck when downloading. It will literally out write what you download.. meaning even if you could download at 500gbs on the steamdeck this nvme would keep up and not take any extra time to write the game onto the drive. Highly recommend for a steamdeck nvme upgrade. Took 10 min to install and never looked back. They are expensive but you pay for what you get. Samsung has the best nvmes hand down. I only run Samsung nvmes in my computers. Their speeds are unrivaled and so is the quality of their products. I have Samsung TVs, washer and dryer and many other things by them. However I refuse to give my iPhone up since my purchases would not transfer.

Working, but not detected by Samsung Magician
I got a bit concerned at first when this wasn’t detected by Samsung Magician, but if you check their website, it does say it’s for consumer models (not OEM) and they have a list of specific models it works with, so presumably there are some consumer models not supported as well.But this works perfectly for a Dell Inspiron 16 7620 2-in-1.

This is a great upgrade for the steam deck guys. Installation was a breeze, the drive worked flawlessly on the first boot and I have seen zero negative effects of using this on the daily! Transfer speeds are quick and most importantly, the drive has not gotten hot during use. It has been a great experience thus far.
