As a life-long Samsung customer, I’m done.
This began October 31st:Purchased the monitor in August of 2024 and it worked fine for two months then one day it just stopped coming on. No lights. No power. Nothing. Dead.Can’t return it through Amazon after two months so I called Samsung. Here’s what happened:1. They tell me that they will replace the item so wait a few days for more information. Sent pictures of product, receipt, personal info.2. They call back days later and tell me, no, they do not ship that monitor and a repair technician will have to come out. They will contact me to set that up.3. They call back the next day and say, no, they won’t send somebody out and I must ship the product back for repair. Please wait.4. They call back a day or so later and say, no, they must send a technician out. Please wait.5. They call back a day or so later and say, no, they have no technician in my area and another “accommodation” must be made. This “accommodation” is replacing my monitor. Please wait for more info.6. They call back a few days later and say, sorry, we can’t replace your monitor because we can’t find one but here’s a slightly different one. Please wait for more info.7. They call back next day and say, sorry, we can’t get that monitor either so here’s another one. Please wait.8. Days later they call back and they say, sorry, we can’t get that monitor either so let’s do a refund. Please wait for approval.9. They call back and tell me that, even though I’ve provided the receipt and picture of the product, they do not believe me so they must have a 3-way call with Amazon to verify I made the purchase. We do so and they tell me I must make an arrangement with a trucking company that they will send out, give them my monitor, then wait 1-3 days for a refund.This entire process has been baffling to me and quite disappointing from a company that I’ve purchased dozens of products from. I currently see no good reason to purchase a Samsung product after this abysmal support experience.**Update 12-5-2024:After being told to wait 1-3 days, two weeks go by without any information. Then I get a text, with no explanation at all, that my refund request has been “declined”. I call Samsung support again and told to a person that then checks on the ticket and discovers that the person handling the ticket didn’t properly put in my information and which apparently caused the ticket to be declined. He claims to have corrected the issue and ensures me that no more will cause delays. Please wait 1-3 more days, sir, for approval of this request. After that there will be a 7-10 day wait for an arrangement to be made to pick up your defective monitor, sir. After that, please wait 1-3 more days before my money is returned, sir. Unfortunately, sir, this is Samsung policy and you’ll need to wait.**Update 12-20-2024:Yes, still waiting for my refund.It is my opinion that Samsung is no longer worthy of supporting and I encourage others to look elsewhere for products.

An Awesome Monitor that Could be Better
I’d been eyeballing one of these Odyssey G9’s for some time, so I finally picked one up. I’ll say this – it’s an amazing experience to both work and play games on such an ultrawide screen. I simply love it. The colors are great, too. I get no screen tearing, games are fluid (driving this monitor with an Nvidia 3090ti), and working on it is amazing. Text is nice and sharp, too. Simply love this monitor.So, then, why give it only 4 stars?The monitor came with one stuck pixel. I contacted Amazon about getting a replacement and was told that the only real option I had was to send this one back first, await my refund, and then order another one. That wasn’t going to work for me since I needed this for work and simply can’t take off several days while this was all sorted out. Fortunately, the stuck pixel is not always noticeable and near the bottom edge of the screen.Secondly, while sliding the monitor back on my desk, two of the rubber feet on the display stand simply came off. I had to lift up this monitor to stick them back on. At this price point, I’d expect the rubber feet to adhere a bit better then that … at least enough to allow me to slide the monitor a bit if I need to access the back or re-adjust it’s position on my desk.Despite these two things, I really love this monitor.
