Best monitor I have ever used
After owning this monitor for over a year. I can safely say this is one of best purchases I have ever made for my PC setup. This was both my first ultrawide and first OLED monitor and I couldn’t be happier. Games are so much more immersive, and absolutely blows my old LCD monitors away. I don’t think I could ever go back to 16:9 monitors after experiencing the super ultrawide format. The only downside is that support for 32:9 is not widespread, however the games that do support it, such as Baldur’s Gate 3 really make it shine. The 240hz refresh rate is also a great bonus in fast paced games that let you take full advantage of it. On top of all that, HDR on this monitor is fully capable and it can definitely take advantage of the richer colors as well as the perfect black levels from the OLED display.Overall, I’m extremely satisfied with this monitor and can easily recommend it for anyone that’s looking for an ultimate monitor. You won’t be able to go back once you upgrade to this.

Hopefully a limited issue of quality – disappointed
11/28/24SAMSUNG 49″ Odyssey OLED G9 (G95SC) Series Curved Smart Gaming MonitorWhat an amazing monitor/screen, so pretty. Signed in, set everything up UNTIL..(Normally I don’t have issues with Samsung, but this is a bad one, no one on amazon has mentioned it, in my quick search review.)12/5/24Upgraded from 2 to 3 stars (when it works) – I can not justify more than 3 since this product less than it should be, especially with it’s original asking price.Using Razer Blade 16 2023 / eGPU TB3 capable – nvidia 4080 / 64GB RAMPros+Staggering 49-inch OLED panel+Gaming and Smart TV in one+vibrant colorsCons-it’s not always ultrawide (watching via samsung or pc)-Smart features are a bit pointless-Flickering if you have slow cables maybe (or flickering as it adjusts to refresh using TB4 cables)-Getting a faulty monitor can be a hassle due to the large size for returns-400 nits-Price is ok (on sale)I had the same issue as this person on reddit. Titled: Brand New Odyssey OLED G9 Half of the screen darker.only had it for 3 hours and the line/split shows up. it seems there some quality control since I found a few other peeps with the issue (with different searches and verbiages) and some people not helping just trolling about their opinion on Samsung.Amazon does not issue exchange, so I have to return and repurchase. hassle. If I return with an updated review then that means I have returned my second one and will not buy again. Family member has a G95C and they are happy with it and it looked good, but I want an OLED.Returned 2 monitors. Hassle and disappointment in quality and performance maxed out.

Only had it for a couple of days so far, but it looks awesome. Don’t have any issues with Text at the default display settings. Use it for Work and Home/Gaming. It does come with mini HDMI, but also regular HDMI and DP, but those are a little difficult to get connected due to their lateral location. It also comes with a built in USB-C Hub. Both the upstream and downstream connectors are USB-C. Gaming is beautiful on this monitor. Playing Diablo 4 doesn’t use the whole screen, but enough of it that I can see the whole horizontal map, if not the full vertical dimension. Civ VI via Steam will use the whole screen and looks great as well. I thought I had an arm for it, but it turns out it was too weak for the weight of the monitor. Ended up going with a Vivo for $110 Canadian, and that is working great so far. The stand is nice too though and is very heavy duty. So far very happy with my purchase.

The Samsung Odyssey G9 delivers a stunning display when paired with a high-performance laptop, like one with an Intel Ultra 9 processor. However, not all laptops support its full quality, leading to potential blurriness on such a large screen. Additionally, it requires high-end HDMI or DisplayPort cables, adding about $100 to the overall cost. The screen quality is excellent, but its size and weight make it suitable only for a permanent setup on a large desk. The rear light feature is subtle and often goes unnoticed. One major downside is the sound quality—it feels like an afterthought and falls far below expectations for a monitor in this price range. For a better gaming experience, investing in external speakers or a soundbar is essential. While the monitor is slightly overpriced, it excels in visual performance when set up properly.

First off I was unfortunate enough to have accidently gotten the Smart TV version of this monitor, something I learned to hate more than anything else in modern technology. The quality of this monitor’s panel is simple one of the greatest I’ve ever had so far, from the beautiful HDR quality that actually felt realistic to the clean sharpness in the details of what’s on screen, the panel isn’t where this monitor falls short. At the end of the day Having a wider screen doesn’t really help much for productivity it turns out, at least not for me. I have far greater control from having more monitors as apossed to having a single but larger one. For gaming it’s almost worse, there isn’t really much use for having a larger FOV effectively unless you play more stand still games like Civ or something but even then still not that big of a deal. Price wise this doesn’t feel too bad when you get it on sale, it’s pretty similar to other monitors. I was almost going to keep this monitor but alas I got a stuck red pixel that was incredibly obvious and obnoxious.

Honestly expected a bit of a brighter picture. my LG C2 OLED is way brighter than this but you can’t beat the immersion you get from this thing. 4k would definitely make this an absolute must own.
