Amazing sub $300 Gsync/freesync 185hz monitor
I never leave reviews. Like ever. But I figured I would on this product so people wouldnât feel as insecure about buying this monitor as I did. First of all, if you use a display port, this thing will run at a BEAUTIFUL 185hz. I was coming from a 60hz monitor and man is this one absolutely insane compared to that one. 27â with the curve is a pretty good sweet spot in my opinion. The logo on the back glows which is something the last model did not include. Color is great, viewing angles are great, and it works with Gsync if you have an nvidia card like I do and you are wanting to use that feature. I turned the free sync on on the monitor and enabled Gsync in my nvidia settings and it worked flawlessly. Vsync turned off on all of my games and not a single tear. If your looking for a sub $300 monitor that will run at 185z, look no further. This thing rocks. 10/10 would recommend.

Excellent value for you money
I was a little skeptical that this monitor could be any good for only $170, but my skepticism was misplaced! It’s a good monitor with decently high rates (up to 165mz) and 2560 x 1440 resolution. I basically bought it because I wanted more screen area for some of my games, but now I use it for work as well. If you want a larger, curved monitor but you don’t want to mortgage your house to get one, look no further. Highly recommended.

Impressed
I built a new rig and was trying to decide what to do with the old one. It was too large and up to date just to put it in a closet to rot and it cost to much to sell (enthusiast). After some thought I decided to give it to my wife’s friends child (11). They are not real financially stable and the kid stood behind me in awe for a year every time they came over, you could tell she had a calling in PC’s. So I decided to pass it down to those who needed it the most. I can’t really take the credit I think God had a hand in it. I was going to keep my monitor setup (3 x Asus 27″ on an arm) so I needed a monitor to give them. I jumped on Amazon and found a cheap monitor I could just toss on it (This Monitor). MISTAKE! this monitor was fantastic. so good I almost kept it LOL and gave her the Asus’s. I was a little jelly I am not gonna lie. It was so good even I just bought the 49″ version to replace mine (currently in my driveway as I speak). Cant wait to install it tonight. Pro Tip… DO NOT buy the Samsung G9, should have went this route to begin with. If you are looking for your money’s worth look no further, you found it.

Not bad, unless you get a dud
When I got this late August this year, I thought this monitor was too good to be true for the price. Turns out it was, because one day it turned off randomly. I thought it died right then, but I turned it back on by unplugging it from the wall for a couple minutes and then plugging it back in. But this issue of randomly turning off did not go away. Can’t use a monitor that turns off. Hopefully there is some way that this can be resolved, but knowing how these things usually go my 230 bucks was completely wasted! I will never in my life buy another sceptre product!Update 1/28/21: Sceptre was able to repair my monitor for free, and I was lucky that they did, because not long after writing my initial review my unit completely refused to power on. I have been using it now trouble free for about a week so I will write a more thorough review. This was my first ever DP compatible monitor which has proven to me that DP is far superior to HDMI. I have yet to experience any signal loss caused by the included cable. The monitor itself boots up in about 3 seconds so if I turn on my PC then my monitor it will typically show the windows login screen popping up. The screen has great colors to my eye. My RX 580 8gb can handle 144hz in a decent amount of titles. Certain games after playing with a higher refresh I am ruined and I can hardly bare to play at 60hz. For example: Doom, Killing Floor 2, Fallout 4, Rocket League. I notice that Sceptre advertises up to 165hz, well in windows settings there is an option for 144 or 185hz but not 165. When attempting 185hz I noticed a bit more ghosting with overdrive on. I’m sure this is something that can be fixed in AMD drivers but I haven’t bothered because 144 looks great to me. I do think that there should be a variable setting for overdrive instead of just on or off. Sometimes content playing at 60hz while the screen is set to 144hz will look juttery. Setting the monitor to 60 will smooth it out a bit but it will still look a little juttery. Because of this, if you are playing a game at 60hz and you drop frames it will be a lot more noticeable. If you can just live with it, it’s really not that bad. The colors alone are good enough to keep playing games like Red Dead 2 (which throttles to 60 with my setup.) If you are coming from a lower refresh rate monitor you will immediately notice the extra fluidity in motion. One thing to keep in mind is that with older cards you will probably need to lower your in-game settings to keep a steady 144. Another thing is that 1080p is being phased out pretty quickly in favor of 1440p, and I can see why. 1080p is much better than 720p but pixels can be seen even from an optimal distance. Things like aliasing will stand out, which will be made worse with lower settings. Before buying this monitor I was really overdue for an upgrade and I feel like I got that for a decent price. In the future I will definitely want a 1440p setup but that will wait until I can afford a new graphics card, cpu, and monitor. My experience with this monitor started off rocky, but hopefully since it’s been repaired it won’t go bad again. After receiving a unit that failed and it being my first Sceptre product, I will be buying from a different brand. Overall, I like this monitor a lot when it works. Thanks.

I wasn’t expecting to see such a difference in quality with the increased hz, but am really happy right now.I chose to buy this model because it’s actually the most affordable in this range. Just be sure to go into advanced display properties and set monitor hz to 180!! The only issue was that they gave me the wrong power cord but I contacted Amazon and they put me in touch with customer service and within 2 minutes they agreed to send me the correct power cord. Waiting for it now but using a cord that came with my other Sceptre monitor.

I got this, i play games like HOTS, EU4, Overwatch…Honestly the curve is really nice, the screen looks so damm big.i got 2of these on a dual monitor stand.I have a KVM for switching (had to replace it to be aligned with 144hz).Honestly. for the price its really a great feel, screen. The only micro drawback, i would of tough the screen would look a bit “brighter”. i bought a screen in the USA 2 years ago, and i was shaken by how clear and birght the screen was. This one has a more “flat” look in the brightness.not sure if its a setting but its not a big deal 🙂
