Although never sold the 2010 27″ iMac with the option of having a second HDD or SSD drive, they did provide the framework for inserting one yourself. Using a secondary SATA port on the logic board and tapping into the power supply, it is very simple to add a second drive into this.

The only weird thing was that the tool was previously used when I got it.

Not As Expected
The only thing that worked for me out of this kit was the cable, and it was almost too short. Most of the screws were T10, not T9 included in the kit with a T8 that I never used. Plus, you needed a T6 to unscrew the airport card of which I didnât have. I bought this kit thinking that it would have everything I needed for adding an additional SSD to my 27â iMac… turns out that was not the case. The one by owc is $10 more but it has everything you need plus a cleaning cloth… spend the extra couple bucks.
