Amazing fit for smaller heads
I have to wear child size glasses because my head is so small, and my ears are so small that I have a hard time keeping any kind of earbud in my ear. But I also have a lot of piercings on my ears which made it difficult to wear over ear headphones. My husband suggested I try bone conduction headphones.I had ordered a cheaper pair ($20ish) to try before I bought these, just to make sure they were going to work for what I needed before I spent a ton of money. I liked the sound quality of the first pair, but they were way too big for my head, the speakers didn’t sit flush against my face, so I went in search of a smaller pair and found these. These work so amazingly, and they’re so comfortable I forget I even have them on. I wear them roughly 8 to 12 hours a day and the battery lasts a very long time. I don’t really listen to music so I can’t speak on that, but I have used it to watch movies and YouTube, listen to audiobooks and podcasts, etc and they have been great. Even while using a power sander, I put in ear plugs and these headphones and could still hear my audiobook over the sound of the sander.Obviously they’re not as travel friendly as a pair of airpods or Galaxy buds, but I took them on a trip over the weekend and had no trouble. They are a little difficult to wear when laying down but I was able to sleep in the car while wearing them. Also I love the texture of the finish on them. They are so great that I really wish I had bought two pair when they were on sale for Black Friday, so I could have a pair for work, and a pair to listen to audiobooks when I go to bed. But I will say that after trying them, I would have paid full price for these and I may end up buying a second pair anyway. If you have a lot of trouble wearing other types of headphones, these just might be the solution.

Awesome concept and best customer support ever
I originally had the Trekz unit (which is still working perfectly after many years of use), I love it and I was excited to finally see a nice design update, especially with the option to have a shorter frame, which was something that annoyed me on the Trekz.I did have a power problem on the OpenRun after 8 months of use and I can honestly say I have never experienced such a good customer support ever!!!… I had a reply within 2 days and my problem was fixed quasi immediately. This is of immense value for me and the clear effort from the brand to put out a great product and a great brand experience compels me to take the time to write this extensive review as a shout out for the Shokz team, so below is what I want to say about the product itself (and I know it’s gonna sound like a paid review but it’s not… 🙂 )Things I can’t stand with earbuds in general are:1- the lack of comfort induced by having the bud in the ear for an extended period of time2- poor battery times and poor sound quality due to the earbud size format2- How cumbersome the charge case is in a pocket and the need to carry it all the time for the times when the buds need to be removedThe Shokz address all these issues because their architecture give them a little more volume to embark higher capacity batteries and better speakers. They can be used so comfortably for hours and whenever somebody talks to me, I can quickly drop the buds on my neck, which generally a very convenient way to carry them around, without being bulky and cumbersome like headphones.I want to say that they offer more awareness of the environment from not obstructing the ear canal but the sound can be so full (at least the way I use them 🙂 ), that they can just as easily prevent hearing sounds from the outside. Still what is for sure is that it’s gotta be healthier to use bone conduction than shoving a foreign object in the ear canal all the time, especially with the effects of noise cancellation.Next improvements that I look forward to from the Shokz team:1- a longer charging cable, especially as they use a proprietary magnetic connector that you can’t easily replace with another cable (I mean, seriously guys, what were you thinking with a cord that short….).2- an even more discreet frame, I’m thinking transparent plastic here…I hope this review will be helpful

Lightweight, comfortable, and allow you to hear surrounding sounds while listening to music.
Shokz Open Run bone-conducting headphones are lightweight, comfortable, and secure, allowing users to hear surrounding sounds while listening to music. The Open Run Pro model offers improved sound quality with enhanced bass and higher volume.I have several brands of ear buds all of which go into or cover my ears and headphones which cover and set on top of the ears. I was looking for something that did not go inside or cover my ears yet would give me a good sound and was a comfortable secure fit.In my search for headphones, I began with the Open Run model. These headphones are lightweight, comfortable to wear all day, and fit securely. Unlike my previous ear buds, they remain in place without constant adjustment, and unlike my over-the-ear headphones, they do not cover my ears. Their small size makes them easy to pack or carry during trips or errands. The bone-conducting sound design allows me to hear all surrounding sounds, such as traffic, TV, children, and people around me, while still listening to my music. This can be advantageous or disadvantageous depending on my preferences. While the Open Run modelâs sound quality was acceptable, I desired more bass and higher sound volume if these were to become my preferred headphones. I was particularly impressed by the fit, quality, and other aspects of the Open Run model, so I returned it and ordered the Open Run Pro model. The Open Run Pro model offers improved sound quality with enhanced bass and higher sound volume. Like the Open Run model, it fits well and is comfortable to wear for extended periods.Strategies for Mitigating Surrounding Sounds:In previous iterations of the Open Run Shozk, earplugs were included as a default accessory. While this may seem counterintuitive to the principles of open hearing and bone conduction technology, I have discovered that in situations where external sounds are undesirable, using earplugs with the Shozk headphones can be highly effective in providing a degree of sound isolation.

This is what I was looking for!! I cannot stand anything inside my ears and these are really perfect.Of course, the audio quality for music is not comparable with earplugs but it is very pleasant. Most importantly for me talking to the phone is very natural, finally, I don’ t feel talking into a box like for the earplug. I can now talk and interact with the external, i can now wear it for hours with no discomfort. it connects with no problem to my iphone, battery last days and it charge very very fast. my iphone is also give a % battery when is connected so you are always informed. the conviniece to put it in the pocket is not there anymore but you can easily put it on your head, neck or in the bag. Great product. I am happy i lost these stupid apple airplugs, always on the floor what’s a pain

I recently lost my Shokz Openrun minis while on vacation, so thought I would try a high end Open Ear alternative with directional acoustics as a replacement. While the open ear buds were high quality and highly reviewed, within a few hours using them I realized how superior the Shokz had been, compared to the open ear. The Shokz are far more comfortable, light weight and well fitting; I forgot I had them on. The sound clarity is exceptional in comparison. They are easy to operate with minimal buttons on clean lines, and hold a charge for at least 10 hours. I had not ever run the battery down completely. They are a better design then any other in-ear or open-ear headphones that I have used. They totally hit the sweet spot for comfort, ease-of-use, and sound quality. I have now bought new Shokz Mini to replace the lost ones and will be more careful not to lose them in the future.

These open-ear Bluetooth earphones provide an incredibly comfortable fit, allowing you to stay aware of your surroundings while still enjoying crisp, clear sound. The bone conduction technology ensures that sound is transmitted through your cheekbones, leaving your ears open for environmental awareness â perfect for outdoor activities like running or cycling. The sound quality is impressive, with rich bass and clear highs, especially considering they donât sit inside your ears. The battery life is solid, offering up to 8 hours of playtime on a single charge, and theyâre also quick to charge. The lightweight design makes them incredibly comfortable to wear for extended periods without any discomfort. The SHOKZ OpenRun is also rated IP67 for water and sweat resistance, making them ideal for workouts or outdoor adventures.
