I wish I had this sooner
This is something I did not know I NEEDED in my life. Honestly, this is not a want itâs a NEED. My productivity has greatly increased with this portable monitor, and portable it is! Itâs now a part of my daily setup. Quick run down.Pros: VERY portableEasy to setupAdjustable (can move to left or right side)EfficientCost effective (if you buy used. I got mine for $240 and it did not have any damage at all, everything included in package except mounting guide.Cons: A bit pricy for a portable monitor but youâre definitely paying for the technology and portability aspectItâs a bit heavy and strains my laptop hinge, not sure of long term repercussions, however Iâm sure itâll be fineIf you have to plug in both cables, thereâs wires everywhereDisplay isnât as crystal clear as the laptops monitor, not horrible quality but definitely noticeably less than my laptops (however itâs a portable monitor so itâs okay)Screen isnât as bright as I would have hoped for but itâs not badOVERALL: I love it and I couldnât imagine NOT having a portable second monitor like this with my laptops now.I honestly wish I would have had this in my life sooner! 5/5. Exactly what I wanted
Does what I wantedI looked around for a setup that I could use on the go. A lot of monitors seemed to need a stand (making using this one on a laptop stand or in my lap impossible), or had a really large mount to the back of the laptop.I chose this unit because it could attach it either side and I could get two without paying extra for some sort of double mount.Works really well – I can pack everything into a backpack for travel and work.A couple of notes – attach the mounting plate with a very small amount of tilt, then the monitor will be level (else the gaps in the hinges can cause it to be a little unlevel).Also, the instructions for attaching aren’t quite right (maybe for another unit?) Causing me to attach both brackets to one side. I had to force them off and attach again using down gorilla double sided tape. Works fine now.Also, on the left side (when the monitor is upside down) it has a great feature to auto adjust and display your picture right side up. However, there’s a minor bug in that when the computer goes to sleep and comes back on, the monitor has a fault and doesn’t display. Just have to unplug and plug back in.Additionally, if you tilt the laptop too far back, the magnet isn’t strong enough and the monitor can deattach. A little annoying but just don’t tilt back far.All in all though, exactly what I wanted. These are the only issues and they’re easily rectified.

Multiple Cords from Company D0 NOT WORK
Love the concept. Screen is really great. However, none of it matters because the connecting cord does not last and makes the experience frustrating enough that I’m compelled to leave a review.I love concept of only needing one cord and not having to connect to a power strip. Two negative issues occur from this set up:1) my display is constantly shaking/wobbling because I have my laptop (and therefore sidetrack) on a ergo-riser. The extra height makes it bounce bc the SideTrak throws it off balance a bit2) the cords die! I’m on my 3rd cord from the company in under a year. Kudos to them for continually sending me new ones for free (and their customer service is quick and amazing!), but I’d rather not have to request them. The metal part of the usb-c that plugs into the laptop gets loose and renders the whole thing ineffective. I don’t want a workaround. I don’t want to plug into a usb-a or b converter. I want the cord to work and remain healthy so I don’t have to deal with screen flickerings / dancing / resetting / being flat-out blank / etc. Just make it work, please.

I spent a lot of time in meeting rooms and was finding myself constrained by my MacBook Air M1’s screen. I read the reviews and the negative ones worried me because of the price. I hummed and hawed but finally decided to give it a try for myself and I’m glad I did. It attaches securely to the metal plate, and I have no concerns that it will fall off. It also stays in place, and so does the MacBook Air’s screen. Note I have some flip-out feet on the bottom of the laptop for a better viewing angle and I think this helps shift the center of gravity forward, helping the SideTrak balance better. The resolution is good, a tiny bit fuzzy but nothing that bothers me. The brightness is fantastic and I actually keep it quite low. The only negative is the cord is a bit unwieldy – to be honest, the whole thing is a bit clumsy to pack up and set up, but I don’t think that can really be avoided for an after-market accessory so I didn’t take away any stars. I just remove the monitor rather than spin it around and close it up – but I think that’s because it is so large/thick relative to the MacBook Air. I expect it will do better on a larger/heavier laptop. All that being said, I think it is a well-thought out and designed product and I hope it will last – I’ll update this review if it doesn’t!

Works great! Only downside is the resolution isnât the greatest but thatâs not a big deal to me since I just needed a second screen when doing quotes and invoices.I have a MacBook 13inch and it was a plug and playâ¦no setup required. Plugged it in and automatically had usage of the second screen4 stars because missing a better resolution other than that I would have done 5 star

Just got this today and I immediately tried to check if it is working. Yep, it does work with my Macbook air as per picture. I know it is pricy but I bought this because it says that this can stand on its own and not sticked to the laptop. It also can stand vertically and horizontally either way you preferred. Giving it a 5 star because Iâm happy with the product. I will update once it has problems on how long did it take to have one too. But for now, Iâm happy with it.

I bought this product 1 day ago and it is already malfunctioning. The screen glitches and then turns off. Doesn’t work, a complete waste of money!!!!!
