    Outstanding monitor
STANDBY ISSUE: There are many people complaining that this monitor fails to come out of standby when connected to a computer. The root cause is a bug in the monitor firmware when dealing with Windows power management. To avoid this problem, go into Windows control panel and select Power Options. Do the Change Plan Settings and then configure the “Turn off the display” to “Never”. When Windows turns off the display, the Sony M9 somehow glitches and is not able to come out of standby unless you unplug the DC power cable from behind the monitor to “reset” the monitor. You can still set the Windows screen saver to blank the screen after so many minutes. The image is excellent when turning on HDR in Windows. The brightness levels on this monitor are amazing. You just have to go into Windows Display Settings and into “Windows HD Color settings” and turn down the “HDR/SDR brightness balance” somewhat for handling white sections of the screen and youtube videos.Setting Local Dimming to High when using Windows HDR presents an excellent result. The FALD backlight sections will actually turn down so that medium brightness pixels and colors show up much more real and without that typical LCD backlight washout effect.

Perfect fit for gaming and movies
Absolutely love gaming on this monitor! From the first moment I set it up, I was able to see the brightness and color difference even before I started gaming on it.Set-up was very simple and took me about 5-8 minutes to get it put together on my desk. doesn’t take up a lot of space on my desk and and I can adjust up and down as well as tilt the monitor for perfect viewing angles.Gaming – very smooth motion and that 1ms response time is noticeable in everything. Much easier on the eyes and makes it more comfortable during extended gameplay. My main game I play (Starcraft) does not support 144hz and are only 60hz but even on 60hz it definitely outperformed my previous gaming monitor I had. I picked up Forza Motorsport 7 to check out how 144hz is and just WOW! Amazing and cant wait to try out more games that do that. Was so impressed I moved my PS5 into this room and will game on this from now on rather than my TV.Viewing – I like to use my PC for watching Movies/Sports from time to time (when my kids are taking over the living room TV) and it looked soooooo good! The HDR600 and Full Array Local Dimming really comes out and shows its power. The brightness and colors that this monitor gives rivals anything i’ve experienced.Would absolutely recommend this monitor!!

    Top notch picture quality
Have not had any issues with picture quality reported by a handful of other users. Can set HDR to on and forget about it and everything from SDR to HDR will look great. Unlike my previous monitor where I had to set it manually because otherwise colors will look funky and washed out with any non-HDR content. Contrast is excellent with deep blacks and bright whites while retaining all the details; it doesn’t give you a perfect pitch black, but you don’t want that anyway because the same deepness tends to subsume details.Overall, a very nice monitor worth buying if you are looking to upgrade to a 4K/144hz monitor with great colors and contrast.Be sure to get the Inzone hub app which will make change settings a breeze.Lastly, in case you have trouble updating firmware, try connecting USB-C on the monitor to USB-A on the PC. USB-A to A did not work for me.

Miserable quality control – don’t waste your money
My first Inzone M9 was purchased from amazon and arrived promptly in an undamaged box. It was easy enough to set up, ignoring the fact that these monitors don’t come with cables – I already had cables, so that’s fine. The monitor has custom software that lets you manage all its settings from your PC, which is awesome, but that isn’t terribly important. Installing firmware updates for this monitor is kind of a pain, but the good news is that doesn’t matter much, because you shouldn’t buy one.The first M9 I bought had distracting backlight problems – basically dirt or scratches *inside* the monitor that were present from the moment I first powered it on. Not the dead pixels you may be used to. Unfortunately they were close to the middle of the screen, which made them an active nuisance for image editing and other use cases. So a return was issued and I bought a new one.The second one, also from Amazon, arrived. The box had already been opened once – from the bottom for some reason – but when I took the monitor out I didn’t see any damage. Unfortunately, the moment I powered it on, it became obvious that I had an even worse monitor than the first time – a massive bright purple splotch, visible the moment you power the screen on, either damage to the panel or the backlight. If you look around you can find other complaints about this problem with the M9.So, take it from me: Sony’s quality control for the M9 is miserable. They don’t properly check these things for damage or defects before shipping them out, so you shouldn’t buy one. As a bonus, their warranty is written such that you would need a massive number of pixel failures before they would consider repairing your screen under warranty, so you can’t trust ’em to take care of you if it develops issues later. It’s a shame. The HDR was kinda nice.

Great product. Too expensive, shame about the Canada tax. It’s outrageous we have to pay more for the same product that’s 3-400 dollars cheaper in the US.

Got the monitor and realized that they forgot screws for the stand, so it took about a week to find the correct screw to fit it, when I finally got it on its stand to turn on, it had a noticeable bubble of blue dead pixels on the screen and constant flickering that would not stop, I contacted Amazon and after about 4 days and 6 hours fighting with Amazon, I was told there was no option for me to receive another one at the price I payed, and my only option was to return it for a refund, not even being able to get another one around that price. This was a issue where I already sold my previous monitor when I ordered this. They wouldn’t give any compensation and was quite rude with the service. Quite honestly would not recommend buying this or any electronic off Amazon with how they treat customers, in the end I lost money and ended up without a monitor cause this. 0/10

I have been using this monitor as the main display for my M2 Max MacBook Pro for a couple of days now, upgrading from a 1440p 144hz monitor. I wanted something a bit higher resolution, but after spoiling myself with 120 Hz or higher displays on most of my other devices, the Apple Studio Display and Pro Display XDR were complete non-starters for me at 60 Hz. Since there are no 27″ 5k displays on the market that go beyond 60 Hz, I had to start looking at 4k options. I was a bit worried about potential scaling artifacts, but I’m pleased to report that, using the 2x 1440p scaled resolution option (which internally renders at 5k and then downscales to 4k), I am unable to make out any individual pixels or scaling artifacts at a reasonable viewing distance (if I stick my face right up to it, then sure, I can see both). On top of that, this monitor has better black levels, a higher refresh rate, and a much lower price than the Studio Display. YMMV of course, but for me this was absolutely the right purchase. There are a few downsides I’ve noticed already though: for one, it takes a few seconds to wake up from standby; it’s noticeably slower than my previous monitor. I’m already looking into potential hacks for this, like having my computer never fully go to sleep, instead having an all-black screensaver or something. macOS also doesn’t seem to allow HDR on all resolution and refresh rate combinations. For example, 2x 1080p and 1x 4k both allow it at any refresh rate, but 2x 1440p only allows it at 95 Hz or lower for some reason. This feels like an arbitrary software limitation, but I can’t say for sure. Lastly, I can confirm the reports from other reviews, that the brightness falls off slightly towards towards the left and right edges of the screen. It is noticeable, but subtle enough to not bother me.
