Stanton DJ Pro 1000 MKIIS Headphones

Tried and true, but new old stock…
I’ve been a mobile DJ since 2005 and these were my first headphones. They took a beating until 2019 when I replaced them with the exact same model, which lasted until September 2024. For budget cans, they’re outstanding. Not a ton of bass, not super comfortable compared to high-end models… but clear & powerful enough to drown out even the loudest environments, with an insanely long cord. Unfortunately, they’re out of production… so even if you’re buying “new,” it’s likely new old stock that’s been sitting in a warehouse or who knows where else. My 2024 replacements came with the foam covering the speaker grill so brittle that it literally crumbled at the touch of a finger. I ended up just rubbing it all off so I wouldn’t have foam flecks all over my ears after each gig. But functionally they’re exactly as expected. So if you’re rough on headphones and can get a deal on these, they’re an excellent alternative to either burning through studio-quality headphones or struggling with consumer products.

Good for years 1-2 and 4+.
Let me preface this with a comment about my history. I normally destroy headphone cords, it just happens somehow. I specifically bought the 1/4″ plug to counter this, and it has held up well.I bought these headphones as I liked an identical pair my room mate at the time owned. His were falling apart, but they had been abused in a travelling gym bag for years. Around two years in my pair started losing the fake leather stuff that covers the ear pieces, and the foam inside began breaking down. Around four years in the fake leather stuff was gone leaving the nice breathable fabric under them. The thin foam in the ear pieces is gone, but they are fairly spacious and don’t cause me any issues. I could replace it if it bothered me. The cord is replaceable, although I haven’t had to yet.At this point I’ve had them 6 or 7 years and liked them enough to buy my wife a pair to keep in her office. Mine are still going, and I expect hers to as well.Do they sound as good as the theater in my living room, no. Do they sound worlds better than earbuds, yes. They also fit on my head if I’m wearing a hat.

As a DJ, I always had problems picking the right kind of headphones. For me, the sound is very important but the best in the buzz are way to heavy. This set, is lightweight and that’s incredible because I don’t get tired of put them on/off all night long. Sound is great, so I’m very pleased with them

Good for pros and regular people
I use them for professional dj use. They hold up well, sound great and fit my big ears. They cost less than Beats by Dre and sound as good. Better than Pioneer, Denon and all the others, price-wise and quality-wise its the best you can get.
