Awesome running headphones sure BUT⦠youâll never want to take them off
Iâm no ultramarathoner, but I do like to regularly hit 7 to 10 mile runs. My AirPod pros were fine, they never fell out of my ears, were decently sweat resistant, and could reliably last about 3 hours. I avoided the bone conduction stuff because I thought it was just a fad for something that sounded terrible. The last race I did head some rain to start it and immediately my AirPods cut off and I was left with two hours of silence and running. Lame. I figured what the hell, Iâd give it a shot and return them if they suck.Heres my biggest takeaway based on my experience and what I thought theyâd be like after watching a dozen review videos beforehand:-The sound is dope. Way better than I thought it would be. Iâm honestly pretty deaf and have some hearing loss, and I donât even run with them on full blast. Itâs not the same as my old headphones in terms of sound quality, but itâs more than not bad⦠itâs actually pretty freaking good. Rock, Rap, Classical, whatever itâs way more than Iâd thought Iâd get.-The battery just goes and goes and goes. Couple that with the charging pack thatâs honestly pretty light, Itâll never die on you unless youâre a bonafide ultramarathoner or an ultralight thru hiker.-having dropped it in water already, the IP67 holds up. No more weird muffled buzz from when your headphones get water trapped or shutting off mid run-my favorite part. On a light settings my, you have a constant soundtrack going on while still being able to talk to people and go on about your day. I literally wear them 24/7 now. The dual BT connection works perfectly so I can bounce between my phone and my Garmin seamlessly. Very comfortable and easy to use. Fit like a glove and donât shake off unless youâre head banging at a creed show.-the only things I donât find myself using are the head tilt controls⦠just driving or walking around will trigger it, and the LED lights. Great feature but most of my miles are on trails. For the price theyâre more than worth it for what you get.

Great set of bone conduction earphones
I was pleased with the quality and functionality of these SUUNTO bone conduction earphones. They are comparable to Shokz products with respect to sound quality, and they work very well on long sweaty runs. The best feature is the charging station, which charges the earphones beautifully when they are docked. I also like the unique ability to light up the earphones with solid or blinking red lights when I run early in the morning or late at night. There are other features that I havenât really used, such as shaking my head to advance the music. I find touching the Function Button on the headphones does the trick just as well. These headphones pair up to two devices seamlessly. I have had no problems with the connectivity. All in all, a good product, albeit a bit pricey.

Huge iphone Bluetooth problem
So I purchased the Suunto Wing because I wanted multi use multi purpose headphones. I wanted to be able to connect to my iphone for my workouts and also wanted to use the AptX Low latency protocol to connect to my Minelab Equinox metal detector on the beach. APTX is a must for Metal detecting headphones. I have to use hearing aids, which is one of the reasons I wanted a set of bone conduction headphones because my ear canals are already being use with my hearing aids. My hearing aids are also Bluetooth and must be connected to the hearing aids App in order for me to be able to control them.I received the Suunto Wings very quick in the mail…they were very well packaged. The build quality looks very good. The fit was pretty good also. Now, I had read some of the reviews on Amazon and also about the Bluetooth connectivity issues with iphones that some buyers had, but I figured it may have been due to just user error in setting it up or something like that. But as it turns out, the bad reviews were justified. The first time I turned them on and connected to my iphone they worked okay…Sound Quality is somewhere in between AM Radio Station Quality and FM Radio Quality. If you turn up the volume they vibrate against your temples and it is quite noticeable and annoying. I played a nice Classic Rock playlist and I noticed that the music would have a burp (LAG) once in a while randomly. A few google searches later, Okay. I tried the recommendations on many web sites including Apple’s and Suunto’s web sites. Reset the headphones and disconnect all BT devices. Nothing worked. I tried them connected to my Desktop Pc and they did work fine there, absolutely no issues…The connectivity with Apple is a well know issue with the Suunto Wings…I own really cheap head sets that work flawlessly with Apple iPhones. Suunto Support which is just a chatbot wants you to disconnect every Bluetooth device connected to your phone so these can work…I tried that and they still lagged like crazy….I need to use hearing aids that must be connected at all times to my iPhone, so I cannot just disconnect and forget all my other Bluetooth devices connected to my iphone. So, Sadly they are going back.

So far so good
I like the wraparound the head feel is secure. Sound is good. My only complaint at this point is the toggle is a little hard to maneuver to turn volume up and down aside from that Iâm enjoying them.

First impressions
Iâve only had the headphones for a week, so I canât comment about their durability; however, they look good and are very easy to use. They are so light and comfortable itâs easy to forget you have them on. They pair easily with an iPhone 15. The sound quality is pretty amazing considering the open ear design. If you are resting, you can even get a further boost of sound quality by pressing inward on the phones at the point of contact to your skin. I wish the charging cord locked on more securely. The headphones are easily dislodged from the magnetic connection to the charge cord â same criticism I have with the Suunto Vertical Watch.
