Great beginner set of studio heaphones (Can’t go wrong for the price)
I bought these headphones about 9 months ago, not knowing much about the brand or quality. I got them in the mail and immediately took them on a trip to Puerto Rico. To my surprise, they sounded really good for a $20 set of studio cans. The highs were all present, as were the mids, and the lows were surprisingly punchy and clean (though they can lack sometimes). There were never any times that I felt that any of the frequencies were fighting for space. It has a very well balanced sound. The build of the headphones when you first pick them up feels cheap, but what do you expect from a set of headphones in this price bracket. There is exposed wiring to both earphones but I have never had to worry about snagging them on anything. As for the headphone cable, it is EXTREMELY long. I wish that instead of it having a straight cable, it would have a coiled cable, as that would make it feel less bulky and make it shorter and more maneuverable (I have rolled over the cable many times while working at my desk). As for comfort, these headphones get the job done. I would have liked to see a softer, more plush pleather instead of the hard stuff that is already on it. These headphones are still relatively comfortable. Due to the design, your ears will start to warm up after about and hour or two of intensive listening. The clamp pressure of them when they are on my head is actually quite nice (I have a large head). Also, a positive to the harder leather material is that it adds to the durability of the phones. After 9 months of intensive use in the studio and even outdoors, the ear cups only have a few scratches and dents and the head band padding is a bit loose, but still does the job. Over all, these are sill going strong. Sometimes I get a bit of weird static or stereo separation, but other than that, they are still getting work done. I would highly recommend these as a cheap but good pair of beginner studio headphones.

Lets address the un-addressed!
Overall Score: 9.5/10
Pros…
good sound quality
some unique features (The measurements on the “sliders”)
cheap
Cons…
not as good as more expensive models, but still better then alot of models more expensive.
I have used many high quality studio headphones in the past and am a recording musician. I feel informed to give you some needed information. In this review I will attempt to deliver some information you may not have been able to find in other reviews.
I will not go over sound quality to much because other people have reviewed that well and I agree with what most say. The sound quality is great for the price. low frequency response is a little softer then mids and highs.
There are some things that I haven’t seen others talk about. The sliders used to fit to a head have measurement markings on them. I think this is a nice added feature, and I’m sure you can imagine why. Another thing is that these headphones completely encase my ginormous ears and even fit my large head. These are great headphones to use while recording but you might want to invest in open backed headphones for mixing and mastering. I had little click leakage in my recordings. Take a listen to a demo of my album that I recorded while using these. Go to the following link to hear a teaser…

In short I would recommend these to the budget recorder or someone who wants a good flat audio response in a headphone. If you have more, get something nicer. Look into AKG headphones. they carry good headphones in the 50 dollar range!

Got these for $22 shipped and am very pleased. I have neither owned nor tested a variety of headphones in this class and am not the person to ask about relative audio quality, but, for what it’s worth, the sound is full and rich to my ears.
These headphones are extremely comfortable. I can wear them for well over an hour and feel no discomfort whatsoever (my ears get a little warm after a while, but that’s what happens, and it’s barely noticeable). I can even wear them comfortably with glasses for extended periods of time, which is a huge plus.
These suckers are pretty big, but not unmanageable on a trip. I have used them on a few flights and was happy. As other reviews state, they are not noise canceling, but even with the roar of turbines you can enjoy your music at a moderate volume (if you up the volume a bit more, they can also overpower extremely loud, obnoxious conversations going on in the seat behind you, as I found out). The cord is much longer than I need or want and is not detachable, but obviously you can use a rubber band (vel sim) to take out some slack.
I haven’t had them long enough to comment on durability (~2 months), but they seem both flexible and strong. So far these have proven an excellent buy for $22.

Sound Booth and Drum Cage use
Use a pair in our church drum cage and in the sound booth. Don’t seal over ear but still make a word of difference over other earphones. Sound is reproduced well. Volume is OK, could go a little louder. Durability is good woth several different users.
Overall, very happy and will purchase again if needed.

Seems nice for price (NOT FOR MIXING!)
Only had these a few minutes so far. You must consider the price of these headphones, and they feel great quality for the price. The pads are even about nice as 3rd party ones I’ve bought which is surprising.
Sound – Very hyped low end and warmth. Not a flat sound at all, nor true to real life if you’re using these to mix on. This can however be a good thing for TRACKING such as vocals as things sound more warm and less fatiguing to the ear over long periods of time. (And your voice might sound richer and cooler which helps when tracking etc.).
For comparison, I mix sound on Sennheiser HD 650’s and Sony MDR 7506 on the daily. Both of those sound a LOT flatter to these Tascam phones, so keep that in mind for your needs.
I’ll be using these for my on location video production hit (sound monitoring). They don’t fold which is a bummer, I should have looked into that. Will update review if these end up a bad.

Absolutely love these headphones; actually have these connected to my iPad as I write. Donât know whether the ear pads are slightly thicker than on my other headphones or whether itâs just my eyes deceiving me, but as ever they are superbly comfortable to wear, with sound quality perfect for my private listening uses. Also love that they come with their own drawstring bag, which makes them ideal for travelling with. Very glad I bought these.
