Fantastic Speaker for Price
I purchased this to replace an older speaker I bought about a decade ago (not same company or anything). After searching and some light research I figured I’d give this company’s Maxsound Plus a try.First impressions were packaging. The box it comes in is quite nice and it is packaged in the box very well and professional looking. Easy, simple Bluetooth connecting.I did some sound checks with different genres and was quite impressed with the quality coming out. One of the best things I noticed is how clear audio is and it scales fantastic with volume with no distortions. With and without the extra bass feature.Audio usually always sounds better with the extra bass feature on, giving a much better range of the audio of what you are playing. As others have said, depending on your environment, is how well you can really get out of the extra feature.Depending on what I played, sometimes something might be too bass-y and I found it better with it off, which is very simple by just hitting the button on top. Easy on and off. I also have used this for listening to podcasts and radio programs and found it’s better with the bass off as it gives better vocal clarity. Mind that the speaker does do a good job without bass feature on, you still get a nice spectrum of the notes. After some testing with full charges, I was able to get about 8-9 hrs of use with bass feature on, and about 16-18 hours with bass off. That was with constant use with it on, at what I guess would be about 30%-50% volume. With intermittent use, with bass on and off randomly to suit my tastes, the speaker can go quite a long time before needing a charge. It probably does hit close to 20 hours with intermittent use.Last few notes; I never had a problem with going out of range and probably never hit close to its stated range. I have gotten the speaker wet, not soaked, and it holds up very well with no changes in audio and no hiccups. This speaker does a great job of directing sound, so if you need or want a speaker that you can put in a corner of a room, or want to have a specific spot in an area to ‘throw’ the music only in one area, this is great for that. If you want to put this in the middle of a room on say a table and want the whole room with sound, the other Tribit speaker is probably best for you.Pros-Great clear sound-No distortions through volume changes and can get quite loud-Extra bass feature is nice and does add a nice punch to your music, but isn’t required to hear great sound.-Great range from audio source for the size-Great waterproofing-Nice compact design you can carry easily-Throws the audio in one direction very wellCons-Battery life can be quite well, but may not be the length you are looking for between charges.

Incredibly reliable and rugged speaker with great sound
I purchased this speaker more than 4 years ago, and it’s still going strong! I use it almost daily for an hour or two, have dropped it multiple times, it’s gotten wet, forgotten in the heat and cold… and I still haven’t had any problems with it.The black casing has gotten scuffed and dinged a bit, but nothing seems to have damaged the speaker. The battery life is still very strong, giving about 12 hours on a single charge (it takes about 4-6 hours to charge it from low).Every once in a while it will randomly disconnect from Bluetooth, but that’s maybe once a month or less. It’s easy to fix: just put it into Bluetooth pairing mode and reconnect it to your device. The X-Bass gives nice depth, but I don’t usually use it because in my opinion it muddies the sound a bit. I think it also uses more battery life.It can get quite loud if you want it to, although if you’re using it for spoken recordings (audiobooks or podcasts) it doesn’t always get loud enough if there’s lots of ambient noise. Music always seems to be loud enough.Overall, this has been an incredibly dependable little speaker, and it was well worth the price. I’m curious to see how long it will last!

Earned my Respect
I rarely rate purchased items of any kind, but the quality of the Tribit MaxSound Plus Portable Bluetooth Speaker and Tribit’s customer service have earned my respect, my time, and five stars. For those of you looking for an inexpensive Bluetooth speaker that holds its charge at least all night long, can be easily packed for travel, and sounds just fine for its size, the Tribit MaxSound Plus Portable Bluetooth Speaker should at least be a finalist in your smaller Bluetooth speaker selection process. Before purchasing my Tribit, I had a larger Bluetooth speaker of a different brand that sounds splendid, but I needed a smaller one for travel. The Tribit MaxSound Plus has proven to be a perfect fit, solidly build, and of decent weight–it is not a cheap piece of junk, but interestingly engineered with both hardware and software to produce good sound. I purchased my first Tribit MaxSound Plus Portable Bluetooth Speaker, which worked flawlessly, more than a year ago, then gave it to my daughter who travels more than I. I replaced it with a second Tribit MaxSound Plus. Unfortunately, that speaker was faulty. I arranged with customer service to have it replaced. The replacement speaker arrived, but it too would not work, at least at first. Customer service and I speculated that the problem was the charging wire, and sent me a new one. That did not immediately solve the problem. Thinking the speaker was frozen, like a PC will freeze occasionally, I let the speaker completely drain of power, then I completely recharged it. That draining/charging process did reset the speaker and it now works fine. For you future Tribit owners, please be aware that this resolution is not in Tribit’s instruction manual. Reset instructions there ask you to press the up and down volume buttons simultaneously, which for my purposes did nothing. A final comment to share concerns the charging wire. Be sure to color code it so you will know which way is up when you plug it into the speaker. Otherwise, it is easy to mistakenly try to put it in upside down; do that enough and you will shorten the life of your charging wire or damage the speaker part the charging wire fits onto. I extend my congratulations to Tribit’s engineers and to Tribit’s customer service. Your product sounds good, you were easy to contact, and you worked with me to resolve my issues. The end result is blissful sound–good things take time but the best ones also sound good.

After buying, trying and returning two sub 50 CAD units like these, I finally bit the bullet and went for this unit. I had my eye on a soundbite 3 as well but seeing that it had less wattage tweeters in them than in this one, I went for this one. After I turned it on and the sounds started coming out of it, I knew that this was it! This one that did the trick. This and many others in this price range are all similarly built but it really depends on the brand whether you will end up getting a good heavy unit with good grade diaphragms or just a good looking knock offs that are of no use unless you are sitting right next to them. I bought two models before this, one from musibaby which is of the shape of a coke can and a second one from a brand called Lenrue, both of which I returned because I didn’t get anything out of them in terms of sound quality. I was looking for something around 40 ish CAD but there is nothing in that range that doesn’t sound like crap.70 ish CAD including tax for this and finally I am happy. One thing to note here is that all of these speakers are not subwoofers and you will never get what a full size subwoofer can give you no matter how much you spend. That being said, this speaker seems to have nice components in it that makes it much heavier than those cheaper units that are below 50 CAD. These ones have two 12 W tweeters in it. On top of that , the bass set up, which I have to say, is able to bring out the low end of tracks just enough so that you know what exactly that track actually sounded like when it got mastered at the studio, which is quite impossible to hear with say a TV speaker which is mostly flat in its sound profile. This unit also handles highs and mids equally well even at very high volumes which is impressive considering the price point. String instruments like guitar , violin, cello or base have a hum in their low frequency that just brings out the warmth in the sound that they produce. If you have ever sat near a person playing one of these instruments, you will know what I’m talking about. I’m happy to say that this unit brings out that subtle warm low frequency hum for instruments that rely on strings to output their sound frequencies. The two models that I bought earlier and returned didn’t even stand a chance at reproducing any low-end sounds even though they were advertised as having an extreme bass and all and but unfortunately they failed miserably in delivering what they were advertising. This one however gives off a nice neutral sound that most people will appreciate right away. This is a good unit that’s similar to the sound profile of the big shots like JBL, Marshall etc. So go for it if you are in the market for a speaker that won’t break your bank and at the same time satisfies you in terms of the frequencies that it produces across low, mid and highs.

For the price point I was a tad sceptical but got this one after reading reviews and hours of research on comparable speakers.I am impressed. As a lifelong music addict and a penchant for heavy beat remixes of the good tunes of old, this thing is amazing.Xtra bass button is a bonus and it pump’s out the sound perfectly.Battery life is pretty good, considering I am not nice usually to my audio equipment.Bluetooth range is good, currently working from my computer inside a house while I am a reasonable distance away outside in the garage so 4 solid walls and 30 meters or so, no hitches or glitches. If you are looking for a portable speaker in the spring range, go for it.

This speaker not only sounds amazing, but is amazing. Ive had mine for almost 4 years, ive abused the heck out of it! Always playing at max volume, xbass on, it still sound as good as it did on day 1, its been thrown in the river, pool, bath, i dropped it many times, it still works and look okay! Lately ive been using it as a speaker for my 2nd tv and it sounds better than my small samsung sound bar. 10/10 would recommend! The stuff i dont like about it tho, is when you hit max volume, it goes quiet for half a second and beeps to let you know you hit the max volume, i wish it just didnt do anything. And outdoor if youre trying to have a party or something, its not very loud outside, and the bass is basically non existent. But other than that, amazing speaker!
