Simple & effective solution for quality audio input & output
I’ve purchased and used two of these units. One was to add a microphone input to a desktop PC whose mic input was questionable at best. We have had no issues at all in the last 6 months with it, very happy. The other unit was purchased for my personal home use, initially to use with a KVM switch and it worked great. I then got an upgraded switch and no longer had to use it. However, more recently I noticed my headphone jack in my desktop wasn’t producing very high quality audio so I switched to using my iPod classic again since the quality is generally regarded as pretty good. Well, just for fun I plugged this unit back in and connected my TripleFi 10 in-ear headphones and … it was like night and day! Sound quality blows away the regular audio out from my motherboard and sounds comparable to my iPod.Hearing the improved audio quality made me come back and write a review because I had been thinking of adding a DAC headphone amp for my desktop but after trying this out I don’t think I need to. For around $15 this has been a great product and I’ve been very pleased with the value and quality.

Works with Linux
I bought this device because the headphone jack on the sound system on my computer has finally worn out. The right side connector cuts in and out. So I need another way to get the sound out to my headphones. This device allows me to plug my headphones in and hear the audio from the computer. I needed the split connectors because my headphones do not have a microphone, so I needed the TRS 3-pole connector. Most of these types of devices require TRRS 4-pole connectors for headsets with microphones.I do not use the microphone input, so I cannot comment on the quality of that interface. My computer is running Linux, Mageia 9.The device is, indeed, plug-and-play. I plugged the headphones into the device and the device into a USB port and it works. I just needed to bring up the audio mixer and direct the audio channel to Audio Adapter (Unitek Y-247A) to send the audio to the Ugreen device. The sound is good. I am generally listening to online videos and voice recordings, so the demands on the sound system are pretty light.

Worked great.
Plugged it in, the computer saw it, started using it, and the sound played out of the speakers. What more could I ask?I dropped one star because the two outlets were not labeled (yes, I know that green is the speaker and red is for the microphone, but a person new to computers might not).

Great for 2 mic streaming / youtube
My son and I create content for youtube / twitch. The biggest challange is having 2 mics that he can work with that dont pick each other up (we sit about a foot away from each other when we game). I bought this so i can have a second mic input and convert one of my 3.5mm headphones to a usb. Works great with OBS. I can pick up 2 mics independently of each other (it comes through as a usb soundcard i believe), and both mics sound great without picking each other up. Some of this has to do with the headsets, i agree, but this device made it possible. As a side note, the 2 headsets im using cost about 25 each, so you dont have to break the bank to get non echoy audio into one source.Im actually here again on this page to order a second one in white, and figured i’d write a review at the same time.12-3-19 : update : Ok, so after using these… the echo is still there. With my situation, i have 2 computers, with mics about 3 feet apart. Im looking for a solution where i can use both mics going into the same pc that wont have an echo. The only real solution to this would be to use an audio box. HOWEVER, just because this product didnt do what i needed it to do, is no fault of the product. This works as intended.

Careful with 48 volts
I bought a second one. The first one worked well. I used it on my computer with zoom. I made a closed circuit with a mixer. DOES NOT WORK WITH 48 VOLTS. I used it with a mixer with 48 volts and it got really hot and fried and stopped working.

Died after 4 years
Worked great until it randomly stopped playing audio out of one ear. Confirmed the issue is isolated to this adapter

I’ve plugged my Altec Lancing baffles (3.5 TRS audio cable) on my computer and it worked immediately without any interference (that wasn’t the case with the jack socket on my computer.) The sound is incredibly good ðð¼ I’m very satisfied.I didn’t try the input line because I have a camera with microphone built inside.I recommend this product.
