*excellent* value for your hard earned money – high structural integrity
I’ve had this device for approximately a week now. I will update this review again with notable developments.OVERALL: I’m self-employed , and my income is irregular. as a result, when it comes time for replacing something as integral to my work as my mobile device I usually spend hours coming through specifications before actually buying. first and foremost I’m looking for specific chipsets and random access memory capacities, ability to record 60hz video(THIS DEVICE CANNOT) on the less important end. in the end I did purchase this phone, needless to say I like the way the specs sheet looked. very little hang up and FPS drops during day-to-day operations.CAMERA: the photo of the car was taken with this devices “pro” camera option, so i assume thats what this camera suite’s got. while probably not the best on the block, i am happy with it. remember, value for money is paramount. plus i use a second device (pixel 4 xl) so if i need nice photos ill use that.ACTUAL PERFORMANCE: the other photo is a screenshot of cpu-x battery page. what has stood out to me the most during the short time that I’ve had this device is it’s cooling. when I took the screenshot, the device was on a mount in my vehicles windshield during the hottest part of the day and direct sunlight. with the charger connected I took that screenshot after monitoring the chipsets temperature sensor readout and was thoroughly impressed with its cooling capabilities. while i did lose a bit of raw performance, functionality did not suffer at all. all other devices I’ve used in this scenario would have given up and thermal throttled within 15 minutes of being placed in the mount, and this device was fine until i removed it. the charger was probably on its lowest setting but I still noticed the percentage going up.synopsis: this was supposed to be my backup, and be run off my Wi-Fi hotspot. I like this device so much I swapped in my SIM card. so it’s now my primary. many thanks to the developers at UMI. I WILL MOST DEFINITELY give them my business going forward. especially since they offer devices equipped with qualcomm. if you are on the fence about buying this phone or any other from this organization, you can’t go wrong in my opinion.i opted to disable automatic security updates after hearing issues with connectivity post update.

Great phone, reasonable cost!
Good phone features, easy setup and easy to use! The camera takes clear pictures and has a lot of editing features too! I like the two buttons the phone has for personal setting options. It is strong and sturdy, yet not too heavy or bulky to hold or carry. I also appreciate that the phone didn’t come loaded with extra apps that I don’t want and won’t use, therefore allowing more storage on the phone, I get to pick my apps! The sound quality is also very clear. This phone is worth every dollar I spent, high end phone without high end cost!

Update. My original review is below this update. After several emails back and forth with the seller, I was able to exchange the phone and received a replacement within a day or two. I’ve been using the replacement phone for a few weeks now and it appears to be working just fine. I’m not sure if maybe I had just received a “lemon” or if my issues are more common. I recall reading some other reviews that state that the phone relies too much on Wifi calling and also another review that said something about people on the other end of the call not able to hear you. Both of those reviews are symptoms of what I was going through with the first phone they sent me. My advice would be to make sure Wifi calling is turned off and make several calls to make sure that the other person can hear you. The phone always sounded good on my end, so it was hard to know that there was a problem until the friend I was calling told me about it. If you experience any of those issues, it’s a possibility that your phone is afflicted with the same problem and you should contact the seller. (End of updated review).Overall, I really want to like this phone, but one issue stands in the way. This phone is bound and determined to use Wifi calling, even while Wifi calling is turned off. Wifi calling is not reliable at all (which isn’t normally a big deal since you can ordinarily just disable that feature) however this phone will pick up any saved/open Wifi network during the middle of a call which makes it impossible for the party on the other end to hear me. Not good for business. Driving down the highway, trying to do business over the phone and if you happen to be passing businesses with open networks, well you can kiss your customers goodbye. What makes it even worse, I’ve contacted the seller twice about this issue with no response. As I said, I really wanted to like this phone but the issue with the calls along with absolutely no customer service, makes this a 2 star review.

Manufacturer customer service is horrible – they don’t solve problems
BEWARE!: This mobile phones hotspot does not work. I have 2 of these exact same phones, and both have the same problem….the hotspot can turn on, devices (such as a laptop) can connect to it, but no data is transmitted from the hotspot to the connected device…..meaning my laptop can’t get onto the internet when connected to this phones mobile hotspot. I reached out to the Umidigi technical support directly from their website, and after 28 emails corresponding with them, with them basically saying to simply reset the phone, they stopped responding. They don’t actually fix anything. Umidigi also doesn’t update the android security with updates. The last security update Umidigi released was noted as June 5th, 2021.The phone itself as a physically designed product is nice, but the software and tech support and problem resolution from Umidigi is total garbage.

Ho acquistato questo telefono per mio padre che è solito disintegrarli come nulla fosse. Solitamente questa tipologia di smartphone tende si ad essere molto resistente ma allo stesso tempo anche “lenta”, ovvero, si punta di più sul corazzarlo che renderlo effettivamente usabile come telefono a 360°.Devo dire che con questo Umidigi (dovendolo configurare e tutto) non ho notato particolari impuntamenti o rallentamenti. Il telefono si è comportato bene durante il download di tutte le app e il recupero del backup, non riscaldando particolarmente.Per quanto riguarda il peso (che, secondo me, su telefoni di questo tipo è importante) non risulta eccessivo. Lo smartphone è ben protetto ai lati con una parte in metallo e poi contornato e ricoperto da una strato importante di plastica. Devo dire che la backcover mi preoccupava, ma in realtà genera un buon grip. Anche se sono presenti 2 “alloggi” per poter inserire dei fili/cavi per poter portare al collo il telefono (molto comodo).Mi ha sorpreso anche il sensore, pensavo fosse uno di quelli messo lì tanto per in realtà è reattivo, provandolo più volte dire che prende l’impronta 4 su 5.Sul telefono poi sono presenti due tasti “funzione” che possono essere anche personalizzati. Ho trovato carina la funzione della fotocamera termica di poter essere utilizzata sia per oggetti che umani. Se volete misurarvi la temperatura vi consiglio di avvicinare il telefono al polso e non sulla fronte, è più difficoltoso.

It started OK, a few issues with auto restarting. Then came the random screen freezes into month 3/4 then the flickers – once again random, then the lock out IN THE MIDDLE OF AN EMERGENCY. Not being able to answer incoming calls. Then – total lock out. Reset did not work. The only thing this is might be good for would be to hammer a nail into wood. Not a brand I would trust at all! – AvoidOne other thing to note…. Where are the responses from the company to the multiple issues people have had? I think this gives a clear indication of the levels of service you can expect!
