Perfect with one wish list item (see my review)
Overall I was very impressed with the screen resolution. Really good quality and everything seems to pop out in clarity, brightness, etc. – whatever you want for the settings. Also, I very much like the sleek design of the physical device itself: smooth and also good quality parts. It’s not cheap plastic or anything like that – it’s sturdy, which is important, because I travel with this.On that sturdiness note, the stand is very cool for two reasons: 1) you can rotate it, and 2) you can extend it. For rotating that means that for the physical device itself you can have it rest on its side horizontally (like my pictures show which is what I prefer), or if you’d prefer you can have it go vertical. If you go vertical then I’d recommend the second cool feature which is its ability to be extended. In my picture I show the back of it with the cords. That base however has a piece inside of it which can extend out so that now the vertical orientation is somewhere in the middle/between 60 – 90 degrees which makes it easy for you to view the screen while you are at your desk.Next there’s the question, does the device play-well-with-others? Simply put: it does 🙂 As you can see with my third image, at home I like to have even a second external monitor hooked up and the laptop I am using is an old 2013 Macbook Pro (so not even the latest and greatest technology). I didn’t have any performance issues. Now some of that has to do with the computer you are using, but it is nice that the Uperfect monitor has cords that will work with my old 2013 macbook pro and not just the latest technology. I need to use the two cords that come with Uperfect monitor, but if you have a modern laptop, you just need to use one of the two cords which is awesome because that makes for a less cluttered desk of cords and easier to pack when you travel.Lastly there’s the touchscreen aspect to this device. It’s pretty cool 🙂 And works well like you’d think a touch screen should behave. I liked the ability to read articles, Kindle books, etc. on it because it’s easy to scroll through or touch on the screen. This works great when you are doing focused work using that screen. In my opinion this is where my only slightly “negative” (although that sounds harsh) review is: in my opinion if you are working on your laptop with the trackpad and you suddenly want to start touching the screen on the Uperfect monitor you should simply be able to touch the Uperfect screen and the mouse should snap to that screen. As it is currently however, you need to take your hand, move the the mouse over manually from your laptop screen to the Uperfect screen, and then on the Uperfect screen you can start using it as a touch screen. In my opinion, this isn’t as great as a user experience for quick context-shifting between work on my laptop and work on the Uperfect screen. But this is a small gripe and as I said if you are doing lots of reading on your Uperfect screen, then that’s a mute point.

This monitor is nearly perfect. Nearly.
Updating three years later, this is still a great monitor. It’s super portable and the fact that I can drive it with a single USB-C cable makes it easy to set up in any environment. The folding cover does a decent job of holding the monitor in landscape and will do an ok job of standing it up in portrait mode (although completely vertical in that case). It’s started to get a few stuck pixels but I only notice it when it’s “off” which leads to perhaps the biggest irritation, that even when the PC is “screens off” the backlight on this monitor remains on, it doesn’t properly go to sleep like my other monitors so I’ve been trying to remember to power it off at night explicitly if I’m otherwise leaving the computer on.4k @ 15″ is a little excessive and I can’t really see that kind of detail but it has worked out perfectly for my needs; I can put a bunch of “low priority” windows there and then drag them up onto my primary work screen when I need to interact with something. So normally I keep the Zoom UI, Outlook, my browser window for Pandora, long running shell processes, etc. on this monitor all visible enough so that I can see if something needs attention but if I really need to get into reading I can move it to the bigger monitor. If it were a lower resolution monitor it would ultimately be way less useful.Previously on…I’ve used this monitor now for maybe 40 hours. I use it in a professional, software development setting. I find the 4k resolution to be higher resolution than necessary but I find that normal 1080/HD monitors at this size just don’t allow you to have enough stuff on them. In Windows I scale the UI up by 25% and then I scale the text up in browsers and text editors by another 25% or so. The image is great. The two negatives that I have for this monitor are both related to the fact that my preference is to use this monitor in the vertical orientation. 1) the case is attached to the monitor with thumbscrews so it is not only a bit of effort to remove the case, now you have to deal with the loose screws. 2) with the case attached, the vertical orientation is “true vertical”, standing up straight. This isn’t useful in most contexts. I’ve pondered modifying the case to allow it to fold like I’ve seen some similar cases but I need to be careful since I could easily ruin this one. It’s not flimsy by any stretch (it’s actually a lot nicer than I expected) but it doesn’t seem like it would hold up well if I were to make folds in it that aren’t engineered. I guess a third minor criticism is that little hole that’s allegedly for a pen to allow the monitor to stand with the pen for support is too small for any pen that I own and the monitor is too heavy to stand with a plastic pen that will fit through the hole, and the balance isn’t right so the monitor won’t stand with any pen-like object stuck through the hole anyway. You’d need a metal rod about the diameter of a pencil and about 12″ long to really make that hole functional. Oh yeah, and it’s weird that the buttons would be sitting on the desk when the monitor is in portrait mode since the USB-C port used for data and power is on the opposite side.So I guess that was a lot of text spent criticizing a monitor that I gave 5 stars. It truly is a great monitor and it’s at a great price. My criticisms are minor and I’m working around them. It’s super portable and makes for a great mobile workstation wherever you may go, especially if your computer will drive the image and power over one USB-C port.

Great monitor with one flaw
We have a lot of Apple products and their displays are pretty great. As Steve would have said, insanely great. Since I travel and work I wanted a good monitor to supplement the screen on my MacBook Pro and bought this. Quite honestly, the display quality of this monitor is outstanding. I would say it’s comparable to the display on my MacBook Pro. It’s that good.I had been using my iPad Pro as a second display but it only works in landscape – this being an HDMI monitor it also works in portrait mode which is helpful as I’m a writer. It’s also larger than the iPad Pro’s display.Further, you can power the monitor from the USB C ports on the Mac so it makes it even more portable. My one gripe is that I like the monitor’s brightness setting at their “5.” But if there’s ever a power interruption it automatically resets to “0.” This happens several times a day. If the company had just made this setting be able to be remembered by the monitor, this would absolutely be a 10 out of 10.The combination of convenience, image quality and portability make this an outstanding companion to the MacBook Pro with the minor exception of this one annoyance. But I’ll take it, especially at the price I paid!

Kind of cheap and crappy. It loses the signal with my Mac Pro a lot. Sigh. Should have shelled out and bought an iPad for a second screen.

I’m using it with my Xbox series S. Display looks stunning with 4k. And colour grading is also good
