No more static & noise.
Got these for connecting relatively cheap headsets to my computer for gaming and meetings. Connecting through 3.5mm on controller gave bad static & noise from the added current in the controllers power when wired to the PC. Unfortunately my PC has dedicated mic and output jacks so I was stuck until I saw this as an option. Easy to install without need for drivers. Happy with the size since it makes them harder to lose. Audio quality is great even better than another headset I have that only connects through USB.

Didn’t work on Microsoft Surface Laptop / Surface Dock 1
I purchased this adapter so I could use my headphones for zoom meetings. I have a Surface Laptop 5, but an older Surface Dock 1. The Surface Dock 1 does not pass audio back to the Surface Laptop through the 3.5mm jack on the dock. I was hoping to use a USB port and plug my headphones into the adapter into a USB port. I was able to hear audio, but the mic did not work. I returned these and purchased a 3.5mm to USB A adapter from another company and that works fine.

Perfect solution for my Docking Station
I have a docking station that I use to switch between my mini PC and my Steam Deck and this works PERFECTLY as an audio solution. The dock has an audio port, but it’s on the front and not as convenient to plug in (and have the cable wrap around to the back).Prior to this, I’ve tried a few adapters and they got HOT for some reason, like blistering hot (no exaggeration). I grabbed this one since it’s a known brand and it doesn’t get hot, at all! Maybe barely warm, but almost nothing. The audio quality is also fine, but potentially a LITTLE quieter than the main port on the front of the hub/dock, but so little of a difference to where you can’t really be sure.

Low frequency bias
I have basic computer speakers since I’m not a gamer. They sound OK at low to mid volumes, but when I crank them up, they distort pretty bad, as if they were low-frequency bias which my $15 speakers are not designed to handle.

Tengo una PC con dos entradas para audÃfonos y las dos se han dañado. Una funciona si los metes con maña pero está claro que es cuestión de tiempo. Necesito trabajar con audÃfonos puestos todo el dÃa asà que me es imprescindible poderlos conectar. Compré este adaptador para estar preparada para lo inevitable cuando deje de funcionar el puerto y funciona perfecto. Es plug and play, no hay que instalar nada, de inmediato lo reconoce el ordenador y el sonido es igual. Es lo que necesitaba. Muy satisfecha con la compra. 10/10.
