There are two specific things that represent the quality of your vision with most glasses (there are others as well, but no headset deals with those apart from allowing the addition of corrective lenses).1. PD (most just refer to this as PD) or Pupillary Distance2. Dioptric Adjustment Factor (positive or negative)Apple Vision Pro and Quest 2/3 allow for adjustment of the PPD right in the headset, as PPD affects everyone regardless of if they wear glasses or not and using an incorrect setting can create problems with wearing these things comfortably long term.The Diopter can make it so you do not need to wear glasses with them, however if you need prescription glasses the PD is factored into the prescription. With these glasses you donât have that option as they designed the glasses with this perceived range and decided to tell you that you would be fine within that range and it just isnât very precise.For me, the image can be very clear, but it creates problems with long term use, that I simply do not have with the Quest 3. I wanted these, because traveling with them was just easier, but the Diopter is nothing but a gimmick without allowing for the PD adjustments unfortunately.So, youâre forced to get the prescription lenses anyway as you simply will not get the best results from the glasses without them.In effect, I was able to watch movies and play some video games, but I was not able to use it for a computer as it wasnât as precise as have the PD set in my lenses.Now when you consider this kit will run you about $400 and a full AR/VR solution can be had for $500 or less, youâre better off just buying the real thing and getting prescription lenses. It is simply a better solution.So Pass on these until they figure out how to deliver a product that actually does everything it says it does without compromise. Sadly, it doesnât look like the Pro XR version has solved this issue either.
